I'm just curious if there's anyone who still plays Blood bowl IRL?

I've got a bunch of models i have nothing to do with now, and i don't even know if it'd be worth putting up on Ebay or Kajiji

Aussies. I think it's a law that all austrailians have bb teams.

Hey parcival, where in NC are the leagues? I live in Raleigh and was looking at getting into Bloodbowl.

I would if I had anyone to play with... but getting into it from scratch would be kinda awkward I think. The biggest problem would be the passing distance ruler thingy.

Like watching other people play video games (badly) while blathering about nothing in particular? Check out my Youtube channel: joemamaUSA!

I still play when I get the opportunity. I have 4 fully painted teams (Dwarves, Humans, High Elves and Chaos) and 3 in process teams (Norse, Gobbos and Lizardmen). Still a fun game. Play the computer game to keep my brain in the game when I don't have time to get the minis on the table, or to have a game with a friend who lives an hour and a half away and neither of us is able to drive out for a game.

There is still definitely a market for the minis on ebay to be sure, especially now that most of the bloodbowl line is sold out on GW's website.

Check out the dakka player finder - you'll see that blood bowl is still pretty popular everywhere.

Me and my friends still play a bloodbowl league at least once a year, I'm wracking my brains at the moment to figure out some nice models to convert to a wood elf team as I've only ever used orcs since the 2003 (I think?) release.

I don't play it but have never seen it stopped being played. Of all the games that GW should be remaking with nice new plastics, this is the one. Wouldn't even take up much retail space.. just the core box, a dozen small team boxes and you'd have a compact half-shelf of product that would sell like hotcakes. It not being redone simply boggles the mind.

I do.

WHFB is almost dead here, but some BB leagues seem to work pretty well.

There's a group that still plays up near me - I built their stadium for them.

Though they may have been seduced by the new and shiny that is Dreadball.

Not sure. All I can say is that reading a blog by Jake Thornton, who said that too many reviewers had expected Dreadball expecting it to be a sci-fi Blood Bowl and were invariably disappointed when it didn't meet that goal. Dreadball is a completely different animal, or so I am lead to believe.

Edit: Not sure what you mean by 'bought the rights to Blood Bowl'. No-one has bought the rights to Blood Bowl - it is copyright GW still.

Dreadball plays in a completely different way.

A lot faster, with an interesting twist to the strategy because there is no reset between goals - the new ball dropping down into the middle of the field as soon as a goal is scored.

One of those games that I really don't like, but can honestly say looks like a great game.

I was even less of a fan of Bloodbowl, so I was not disappointed - Dreadball actually looks like a much better game than Bloodbowl.

And I have to admit... Dreadball Extreme looks like something that I might enjoy.... (Do not ask me why it looks like more fun to me, 'cause I have no idea!)

Blood Bowl is the best game GW has ever come up with. I am in an active 16 coach league out here on the west coast. Don't give up!

We were once so close to heaven, St. Peter came out and gave us medals; declaring us "The nicest of the damned".
