a bit of proxy, I suggest taking either melee upgrades on your tac sergeants, or give em combi-weapons.
Proxy the terminators as TH/SS (if no proxy I suggest just saying one is an AC since the reason you bring tac terminators is the heavy weapon). to pay for the changes drop a whirlwind or dread, if you drop the dread proxy the whirlwind as a stalker or hunter, you need SOME anti air :/
EDIT: if your not playing vs fliers then forget what I said.

I may be buying a box of flyers this weekend. I'm thinking of dropping a Dread, the Pred, Land Raider, and Whirlwind.
Replacing them with 2 Storm Talons with SHML's, and a Storm Raven Gunship which Calgar and the Termies ride into battle in, keeping the Terminators stock, and adding in a Sniper Scout Squad to camp backfield.

Just to note, Marneus' Armor of Antiloches has a unique power to allow sweeping advances. Putting him with other Terminators (assuming he doesn't separate) wastes that power.
I see AoA is not marked on your list, so this may be irrelevant.

Decent enough. I think you'd get more out of Calgar using him with an assault unit that can also Sweeping Advance. More assaults are won on resolution than sheer wound attrition.

iirc Calgar totes a 2+ anyway, and a 4++ via the Iron Halo. If I'm not wrong, only use AoA if you're intending to DS Calgar or something near him. Else it's pretty useless.

Wouldn't not putting him in AoA disallow a sweeping advance?

Terminator Armor disallows sweeping advances, not Power or Artificer Armor (default Calgar being outfitted in the latter, iirc). AoA is a special suit of Terminator armor that doesn't disallow it.

Yeah I know I think you misunderstood what I replied, I really enjoy Marneus! He brings so much flexibility. Anybody run him with great success? Or mainly just Tigurius?

Not sure what was to misread. Not putting him in AoA -> Keeping him in Artificer Armor, which does not disallow a sweeping advance. So... one word answer? No.
Most people run Tiggy. Marneus buffs Tactical Squads primarly, and most people use Bikes instead of Tacticals.

"Wouldn't NOT putting him in AoA, disallow sweeping advances" .. Meaning if I did not put him in his AoA armor, it wouldn't allow me to sweeping advance.
Anyhow, Bikes? I'm assuming for a White Scars list correct?

A Stormraven is a bad place for that unit. If you get shot down via interceptor, the entire unit save Marneus will be vaporized. Consider a Land Raider as a deployment mechanism.
--Edit: Sorry, read that as regular termies not assault. Still, consider a Land Raider. What'll happen when your raven comes in turn 4 and you can't charge until turn 5?

Personally, I wouldn't want Calgar out of combat through sweeping advance. Keep in combat with an important unit then jump him forward after that unit is gone. Slay the Warlord with Calgar would hurt you more than taking out just one unit. I could be wrong as I mostly play bikes and pods :/

No you're very far from wrong, plus the fact he's in a unreliable Storm Raven is a very good point... especially if that baby gets shot down. I could drop a Dreadnought and add a squad of footslogging Tacticals with a Lascannon (backfield camping and a Lascannon) and put Calgar into the Raider with Assault Termies. Slay the Warlord against Calgar would be absolutely awful, he's much more of an incredible force multiplier than a deathstar unit such as Abaddon.

4 tactical squads is a bit overkill. At 1850 points you want to bring as much as the heavy hitting units as you can. You don't have any of your heavy slots filled. Look at it this way, drop one of the tactical squads and you can bring two thunder-fire cannons. Those thunder fire cannons while vastly out shoot your one tactical squad. Your army is lacking a lot of anti-horde elements, the thunder fire cannons will handle that nicely.
I am not a big fan of the storm raven, I would stick with a land raider. Storm-ravens are 250 pts of a target waiting to get blown up. My advice drop the storm-raven for a land raider, drop a tac squad for some thunder-fire, or whirl winds or vindicators. At that point I think you would have a pretty solid list. Also I agree your Sargent would benefit a lot from combi-meltas. to go with your meltas.
Good luck with calgar, I know last codex he was not considered very strong, not sure if they changed him at all, hope he works out for you.
