I don't think they will be, though as that would allow folks to save money / build omni-kits for when the rules update, and thus not have to re-buy models

So,..
If you find the price too high... Don't buy it?
Or, if you want one, and find the price too high, scratch build one?
Or, if you don't have the ability/knowhow/desire to scratch build one, and don't want to buy one at the listed price, get a third party model to represent one that's cheaper?
I'm failing to see how your statement adds anything to the discussion here.
Just thought I'd ask, what's your point?

I'm not asking him what he's saying, I'm asking him why phrase it that way; I.E. insinuating that people who do purchase it at the listed price are stupid. The price is now well known. If it's too high for him, great, then say "It's too expensive, I'll pass on it." instead of saying something derogatory to those who *DON'T* think it's 'stupidly' expensive.
I find the kit to be expensive, but I enjoy the hobby (as I said previously in this thread) and derive enjoyment from not only playing, but modeling and painting in general. The expense is warranted (large, detailed kit) and while I won't be buying more than one, the amount of enjoyment that *I* will get out of this kit is well worth the $140.00 price tag. If you (Or ANYONE else) disagrees with that opinion, great! Just don't insinuate that people who do find the price acceptable are stupid for being willing to pay for it.
Call me that guy if you want, I'm going to call someone on bad behavior when I see it. If you don't like that, then kindly ignore me.
Thanks.

O.o
(A proper rule set for chaos knights would be preferable, but i won't complain!)
if you don't play an imperial army I'd not hold my breath
This talk about "Freeblades" knight houses makes it sound other wise. All the fluff in the leaked pages makes it clear that knights come in 3 flavours. Imperial, ad-mec, and the "Freeblades" who "have no masters except for them selves".
It sounds like the Knights are going to have a pretty lose ally chart like most other factions in 40k right now. They might be battle brothers with the imp factions, but it comes across that we might see them as allies of convenience or desperate allies for chaos and Xenos factions. (well. cept nids.)

You missed the part immediately before that phrase.
They still fight for the Imperium. They just don't consider themselves a vassal of it.
It sounds to me like the differences between the three types of houses are going to be purely cosmetic.

Just to be clear: I don't think asking if these will be available to none imperial armies is unreasonable. The amount of sarcasm and nay-sayers to a legit question isn't called for IMHO.
It dose not say they fight for the imperium, says they fight for "humanity". Witch to me implies that they could be fighting along side Tau and Eldar if they felt that doing so benefited humanity. Sounds alot like the "forge the narrative" stuff GW has been throwing around all this edition.
They are also not being treated as a unit you just take as a part of your army. They are 1-3 guys you take as part of a allied detachment! This implies they will have their own ally matrix stating who can take them as allies and if they are battle brothers, allies of convenience, or untrusted allies to your faction.
I don't think it's unreasonable thus that we may see a fairly open ally matrix for them.
I will also point out that my CSM can take Imperial Gaurd as a ally detachment and vice versa. So just because they have imperial in the name doesn't mean they will not be available to chaos players. When we knew allies were comeing i remember alot of people didn't think they would allow IG and CSM for the same reasons.

That's a stretch. In 40K terms, fighting for mankind means fighting for the Imperium.
I would expect a fairly similar allies matrix to Guard, personally. So yes, it's possible that there will be an option for Chaos... although it's equally likely that they decide to reserve the big beastie Chaos slot for the Khornemower.

Sadly, I think it's going to be hard to beat the US importers for us Aussies....it really has gone beyond a joke.
I haven't bought a GW model in years (unless you class 2nd-hand old Armorcast / Epicast etc models as " GW") - it's says a lot that one of these Knights will be a purchase.

I tend to buy in bulk a couple of times a year (usually from DGS) in order to negate the shipping as much as possible. Once actual prices are revealed, I'll be able to work out if they're like Dreadknights or like Vanguard/Sternguard

If you've got any UK eBay sources with a decent discount, please feel free to PM me. I've never been lucky enough to find any. Mostly these days I buy non- GW stuff, but I still do get their stuff from alternate sources like eBay etc. Automatically Appended Next Post: AllSeeingSkink wrote: Azazelx wrote:
Well, not entirely - the Vanguard and Sternguard prices were both horribly skewed against us, so I bought mine from the US - as were the centurions (I believe). It's really best checked out on an individual basis with the newer kits. Wraithknight was one that worked out better to get locally since it was "close enough" to importing them in. Same with the Wraithguard if I recall correctly.
Never noticed the Vanguard and Sternguard, when did they come out? I mostly noticed the Tau, Eldar and Lizardmen were all not so bad. They all came out while I was living in the US and I didn't bother buying any of them because the price difference wasn't nearly as bad as some of the other armies I collect.
They came out with the SM codex late last year. I'll have to work out price comparisons with the Eldar and some of the bigger lizardmen beasties shortly.
Lizardmen Bastiladon US$60/AU$90
After discount and currency conversions: US$46.80 + postage (AU$52 + post) vs AU$72 (20% disc) - easy US purchase.
Lizardman Stegadon US$57.75/AU$83
After discount and currency conversions: US$38.61 + postage (AU$43 + post vs AU$66.40 (20% disc) - another easy US purchase.
Eldar WraithKnight US$115/AU$125
After discount and currency conversions: US$89.70 + postage (AU$100 + post) vs AU$100 (20% disc) - a local purchase.
Eldar Wraithguard US$50/AU$55
After discount and currency conversions: US$39 + postage (AU$43.50 + post) vs AU$44 (20% disc) - another local purchase.
Space Marine Vanguard US40/AU$65
After discount and currency conversions: US$31.20 + postage (AU$35 + post) vs AU$52 (20% disc) - easy US purchase.
Space Marine Sternguard US$50/AU$70
After discount and currency conversions: US$39 + postage (AU$43.50 + post) vs AU$56 (20% disc) - easy US purchase. again.
All of those kits are pretty recent, and so the Knight kit could fall on either side of the fence.

I think this is what will happen: The first week will be rules for the first houses, and the next week will be rules for Freeblades specifically. They will also come out with a digital version, a small "codex" for all of it, if not the first week then perhaps the second or third week. There will only be one kit, the kit released the first week, for all the houses. Because you all should know GW by now. If they suprised us by doing one more kit for just the Freeblades it would be almost unbelievable. Also, perhaps the rules will include joining other armies or models in to Knights when played as a primary force.
