Well, with the Tau release it seemed they actually had trouble supplying product for once. I don't know if there were that many issues filling pre-orders but for several weeks after the initial release it was hard for a lot of people to get any of the new models.

Wasn't that only from 3rd party vendors? I thought actual GW stores were well stocked, they just didn't give enough to FLGS's?

Both.

Some places got overstocked with the big kits but understocked with the little kits. I know that my local GW store had the Codex, Cadre Fireblades, Darkstrider, and the Pathfinder boxes in abundance--but two or three Riptides and none of the flyers.

I don’t see why so many people are comparing the knight titan to the other LOW just because the models are super heavy walkers. A Revenant Titan would easily take an army of five of these by its self at least killing one or two a turn. I even think a transcended C Tan would have no problem taking three. The knight titan close combat weapon does not do anything Nightbringer did not do in the last codex when he ignored saves in CC. Looking at the stats the Riptide is still a better giant robot, and a five riptide list is easy to make.

You're crazy! Hormagaunts might as well be called Zerglings! Protos constructs are powered by the souls of the dead and then suddenly GW has "Wraithlords" that do the same thing. It's shameless, and GW has the hide to sue other people for using "Space Marines". The balls on those people.

Yeah, GW can't be trying to target PP's audience with the new Knights, mostly because GW still doesn't even acknowledge that PP and other competitors' games exist.
No, this is a continuation of GW's current philosophy: release all new models that people don't already have, thus making everybody buy the new model.

Not worth mentioning imo.

No, it really is. It's a difference of much more than 0.3mm

Care to actually tell us what the difference is then? "That's wrong, it's actually approx X" is a bit more useful than "that's wrong, I know why but I'm not saying, tee hee"

As for the new pics & info, it's a shame; these are such nice kits, but not at direct retail price, even with the discount from 3rd party retailers it's pushing it. Even then, I would have trouble stopping myself from getting at least one, but thankfully GW are continuing their idiotic new premise of putting out the models before the rules, and that irritates me enough to prevent the purchase.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?

You are aware that Privateer Press maintains two of the best selling miniature wargames on the market in Hordes/Warmachine? You are aware that Privateer Press continues to grow in the segment? You are aware that Dreamforge is effectively a one man shop?

Privateer Press pushed the large model strategy over the last three years and has come up big. GW has followed suit in the last year. Shall we count the kits since 6th edition? GW is chasing PP's strategy.

GW is chasing the market (falling profit will do that), and the Imperial knight is clear evidence of an industry leader in emulate mode and not innovate mode. That is in no way a comment on the quality of the kit. GW is losing market share, and this kit shows they are not above following the successful strategy of an innovative and growing company.

So if the knight is only 6.5 inch that means it is only slightly larger than a dreadknight?

And? DreamForge came out with their resin knight quite some time ago. It was years of pleading on our part that finally pushed him to use Kickstart the plastic version back in 2012. Even then, people were discussing the model's use as a Warhound "counts as" and not a PP knockoff.

Please, do remind me, when did GW release the Baneblade and Stompa plastic kits? 2007? 2008? How long has Forge World been making large models like the Deff Dread? No, GW isn't chasing PP. If anything, GW is chasing FW.

I am pretty stoked on this model and haven't been even remotely interested in a GW model in awhile...

I am thinking this will be a nice addition to my adeptus custode army. Anyone know if there were knights present at the seige of terra? If so which houses?

Yeah, coz it's not like GW have been making large kits for years like large tanks, monsters, dragons. Oh wait, yes they have. Well it's not like GW have been making large walkers for years. Oh wait, yes they have. Well it's not like GW pulled the Knight from their own resources going back decades. Oh wait, yes they did. Well it's not like GW have been pulling models from Epic in to 40k for many years. Oh wait, yes they have.

Obviously GW is on the decline, but it's a bit of a stretch to say they're chasing PP or anyone else with the Knights, they've been making big kits for years and they've been using Epic as a resource for 40k for years. Models of the Knights existed before PP existed. FWIW, even the Trygon was originally an Epic model modified and upscaled to 40k, so this is nothing new for GW, not to mention the Stompa and Baneblade which have been around for years now.

Either GW fail at taking pictures, the Knight models in pictures is different to the Knight model they're actually sending out, or 8" is a lie because everything we've seen of it, it's more like 6 to 6.5".
