Okay, this is just ignorance.
The vast increase in large mainstream kits in 40k has been post PP success in this product space. GW chasing FW? They are chasing themselves? That's damned near stupid. If they were chasing FW they'd be putting HH into plastic. Baneblades and Stompas crapped out their sales years ago when GW failed to pursue a large model strategy. In the last 1.5 years they dump the Tesseract, the Riptide, the Wraithknight, the Imperial Knight all in plastic, all mainstream, and all after their main competitor gains market share after the same strategy. Dream forge is not GWs target because They aren't a competitor. If you want to imagine that a teeny tiny shop like Dreamforge is why GW put these out you should go take a business class.

I'm not seeing eight inches out of this kit, either. Maybe we'll all be pleasantly surprised. SickSix wrote:I just measured my Mawloc. There is no way the knight is 8 inches tall.
Mine comes in at barely 5½ inches and that's because I positioned my claws high up on that thing.

you guys put a lot of faith into pictures that have close to no actual visible information when it comes to height, how the models were built, the terrain they're on, the varying depth of field, angles the shots were taken, and if they've been doctored or not for cinematics.

6.5" for the knight is probably going to be very close. My Mawloc (including standard base hieght) comes in at 5 5/8 inches measuring to the very tippy top of his top appendage.

If it were just 1 or 2 images, I might agree with you. But we've seen it next to an Avatar of which we know the height, bad perspective? Maybe, but it suggests ~6". We've seen it next to a Trygon of which we know the height. Maybe the Trygon is closer to the camera and it's just a weird picture? Maybe, but it again suggests ~6". We've had people say it's mounted on a 120mm base, and the images show that it's not much taller than the base is wide, so again suggesting ~6" tall. We have on GW's site they put a Space Marine next to it for scale, measure it out, it ends up about 6" tall.
So we have several pictures suggesting it's 6 to 6.5" tall, GW saying it's 8" tall on their website and 1 picture next to a Riptide which is hard to tell anything from (and FWIW, the Riptide is only about the same height as a Trygon anyway).
From that, I'm guessing it's probably 6 to 6.5" tall and GW made a typo with saying it's 8". I'll be pleasantly surprised if it is actually 8".

Could be. Personally I can see it sitting at 7", but not as small as 6". I'm just going off what I've seen, and knowing that GW are just as bad at image/video production as they are at customer satisfaction.

I don't own a riptide, but from what I've seen, it's shorter than a Trygon, which is 5.5". So the Imperial Knight would feel a good chunk taller even if it's only 6.5" tall.
But yeah, given the contradicting information, I guess we'll just have to wait and see, maybe someone can photograph it next to a ruler or measure it out for us.

Yakmando now you are making up market research to cover over the fact your original post in here was stating that GW copied cygnar models or drew inspiration from them. I would like to see the market research you are quoting from, as if this forums majority is to go by then any thing that costs over £10 is overpriced. So PP models that cost £90 and more in some cases are not likely to be raking in the money for PP. Then let's not get into the fact Forge world have been selling the big stuff since before PP was even thought about.

Funny you should mention this, If you check the pictures of the decal sheets in WD. you will see they have actualy included the "MORTIS" decals, for Legio Mortis. Now unless GW like to get shot in the face by the Fluff police. Im pritty sure these will be rocking the front lines of a chaos space marine army pretty soon.

What can I say, we like to win.
The really funny part is I could have a Knight at a US discounter price with $4 shipping two days after release. I won't, as I don't really care for it, and it's not in the budget when I want to finish my Krieg, but at least when GW was screwing Oz there was a big ol' ocean full of Peruvian pirates or whatever other explanation they had.
Me? I can see 'murica from here if walk for a few minutes up a nearby hill. We don't even have a fence for a border. I don't even have to post for things, I could drive for less than an hour and buy things from a GW across the border and still save a bundle of money. And GW wonders why they don't do better here.
The real irony is Warhammer 40k is actually quite popular in Canada. I doubt it's much lower per capita than the US, but not many people are buying it from GW Canada.
