And definitely not at the $90 price point.

WWX is making it easy for me to not start a Warrior Nation army.

I'll stick with Lawmen, Union and Outlaws...

Yeah, its likely a result of it being a Digital Sculpt & wanting to be a quick/easy cast... they look to be thick enough to easily cast without having to worry about being too thin. What base size is it supposed to be on?

Good question!

The 'large' WWX base is 2.25".

This one says it comes with a 'huge' base, but the only thing I can find on their store is the 'massive' base, and that's 4.5".

I don't think this one is on a 4.5" base, but... maybe?

Ugh.. who the hell uses Imperial for base sizes?

So.. 'Large' is 57.15mm, or close to a Dreadnaught (60mm) base and 'Massive' is 114.3mm or close to a Colossal (120mm) base. Its bad enough they went with the special snowflake 'platform' bases, they could have at least made them the same foot print as the rest of the industry.

Didn't this have a Train model during the KS? Did that get released to the public?

I have to agree. I was excited when my sources informed me that there was a new player in the plastic 28mm sci-fi industry, but unfortunately they have failed me yet again. I guess I can cross this company off my list.

Agreed!

And they've taken a VERY aggressive stance in terms of what bases will be 'legal' for their 'official' tournaments.

That probably won't be too much of an issue, but still...

The train was apparently way undercosted during the Kickstarter.

It is a rather impressive, and massive, monstrosity of resin. If you managed to get it during the KS you got it at a never to be seen again price.

I like most of their kickstarter designs, but they make some strange concepts lately that IMHO don't fit the setting:

The armored guy actually doesn't have arms or legs anymore - he's just a body and head that gets plugged into frames now.

As for the bike one - I got nothin' for ya!

An interesting tidbit on how they set pricing:

Unread postby Outlaw » Sun May 04, 2014 1:19 pm

All the pricing guys is based on the amount of models you will need in the posse. That is what is fractured first. Then is the raw volume of resin. All of our pricing is based on this scale. Value in an army + resin amount = price.

Less models needed in a faction means higher price for those models to balance out armies in the game. If Holy Order cost the same as everyone else but needed half the minis to play why would anyone play anything else?

Snice looking minis there too.

Do they not sell to independents like Warstore and Miniature Market? Just wondering since I can't find anything there. I like the models but mostly for painting. A local guy wants to give it a whirl but to be honest the price (well, value is probably a better word) is a bit of a detractant for me.

Those holy dudes look sweet though.

I've seen them advertised on Wayland Games' over in the UK, but now that you mention it, I haven't seen anything on The Warstore on Miniature Market...

The price/value is a bit daunting - especially when you look at their larger vehicles.

Still, I like the look of the models (most of them) and I'd love to get a game in with them, but outside of organized play at major tournaments, that's looking like it is going to be "Infinity Level Difficult" at this point.

Yeah, those holy order of man figures are pretty rocking. I don't know if they'd ever get used in WWE, especially since I missed out on the KS, but I could see myself picking up a few if the price is right.

Would love to see these things show up at retailers I'm already spending money at. Saves me some time and shipping costs.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

I think they're doing their own distribution, so I'm not sure if they're selling to online stores or just FLGS.

That comment about how they set the prices annoys me. I don't mind adjusting prices based on expected volume of sales to offset production costs, but saying "we set prices to compensate for in-game points costs thereby ensuring people don't just play the cheap faction," doesn't speak well to the game or choices available to players.

As noted earlier, you can get them through Wayland Games:

http://www.waylandgames.co.uk/outlaw-miniatures/wild-west-exodus/cat_2559.html

But I think Wayland has a relationship with 'Outlaw' already?

Wayland act as a distributor for some games, I know they are for Dark Age so maybe its the same for WWX.

www.firestormgames.co.uk also sell WWX minis as well.

There you go then!

It is odd that they haven't partnered up any of the big USA based distributors/stores in order to increase their market presence, but then they'd make less per sale, so...

Likely the Warstore isn't stocking it because of their previous dealings with Battlefoam.

Many distributors don't want to deal with 'new' and 'untested' games without a lot of demand, specifically minis games where you're dealing with a few hundred skus that might not move.

Did FRP Games carry WWE at one point? They have some of the WWE Battlefoam bags and are out of stock on some terrain with "Wild West Exodus" in the name, but no actual figures or rule books.

WWX has been awesome... awesome minis released at a steady but attainable rate that keep the factions balanced. I was a 40k-r for life, but the pricepoint started to push me out with 6th edition. WWX's price point for an army is easily attainable, the games are more laid back, detailed and fun; I have since shifted most of my funds towards this game.

Besides one or two miscasts, outlawminiatures' resins are also some of the best I've seen, better than the last shipment of kingsom death minis that I bought (satan and that smoke knight).

I'm looking forward to the release of the holy order and the four horsemen!

Its worth noting that both The Warstore and Miniature Market are physical stores that also sell online. If they distributed through the US, it would end up there most likely. Sure they get more per sale as direct only, but if you actually care about growing the game, wider distribution is probably needed.

I get charging more for hero units... the mold costs the same, and if you're only selling one per player you need to charge a bit more to recoup, but yeah, that's kind of sucky.

Nope, just the buildings because they are through Micro Art Studios. They do offer the bag as a special order at normal Battlefoam website price, but they've offered Battlefoam bags like that for a while now.

So, which kits are plastic, and when will they be available through Miniature Market or The War Store?

Most (all?) of the 'Hired Hands' are plastic, and just about everything else is resin.

Real resin.

Don't know if I'll ever get in to the game, but I think I'll need to pick one of these up when it hits general release.

Due to disagreements in the past with Battlefoam, I doubt TheWarStore would be willing to carry their miniatures game.
