Now that they have there own codex will it become common to see more super heavy armies . does this mean the end of normal 40k now. I feel as a space marine player who only runs a foot list for personal. reason. that armies of super heavys will become the normal way to play 40k and any model other then super heavys will be point less to use.

i have played against escalation and found out the hard way how broken d weapons and super heavys are in normal 40k

i feel like iam being forced in to buying super heavy armies so i can stand a chance in 40k

Yes, just like every other time you've posted about how the sky is falling, the sky is in fact falling. Use your obsolete models to construct a shelter from the falling sky, because you will never be able to play with them again.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

I am not saying the sky is falling by any means what i am trying to say is i feel that super heavys are be pushed on use. if you want to run a good army you need to have a super heavy and void shields. maybe its my playing area but super heavy are the kings of 40k as escalation is normal 40k i am forced to play supers a lot

If you want to have fun. Dont play people who are in it for themselves. If you play with the goal of making it fun for your opponent and they do the same for you then its gonna be a great game. Of course there are lots you can do as well to mitigate the negatives in 40k.

Give this a read. I have been working on how to solve the problems in 40k that plague some people and its boiled down to this

http://theimperialpatrol.blogspot.co.nz/2014/03/3-ways-to-enhancing-your-gaming.html

If you play with the info in this link in mind, you will find that there is no room for the broken scary stuff. Im gonna try make it a trend in some of the more stubborn players at my club tonight buy using this as a guide for my campaign.

So what im saying is, these super heavy armies and so forth are only a problem when you play 40k with large battles, or large open battles etc, which sounds fun but in practice should be something you dont always do. There is lots of pressure from GW and the players to play games of 2000 and upwards and try shove everything you can in the list, along with taking the focus away from terrain. So instead of fearing these changes and complaining, try fixing them so you and your friends can move on and enjoy the game.

Super heavies are fun, but just like most fun things, best used in moderation.

So do not fear. Work with a friend, find out what your problems are (with the game...) and work around it. You will find problems like this disappear.

No you are not. Not in the slightest. You could always say this magical word "NO" to the guy bringing super heavy. I use No all the time.

I chuckled.

@zilka86 Just play Taudar @ 2k Points and Bring Buffmander attached to 3 Skyfire Missile-sides, 2 Skyfire Burstides, x2 Kroot, Farseer on a Bike, 1 Squad of Jetbikes and Revenant. Bubble wrap the Revenant so nothing can get near it and just let it wipe the board clear while your Tides and Sides clear the skies. You will either win so much that your local meta bans super heavies or everyone will copy you and your awesome list making abilities. Either way it's a win / win.
