Grow up, little boys, do. It is a piece of metal. And where, pray tell, is the best spot for a pin to affix the mini to the seat of the bike? The stick snapped too, so I had to replace it.

Thanks Archer, Lorax, CLeatus, evildrcheese. The porch was surprisingly tedious. Next time do the tiles before The columns. Lesson learned. I should have the roofing done sometime this week, but I must get Penny finished since the contest deadline is rapidly approaching.

Actually my "errrr" was more of an "errr, that's a pretty juvenile/embarrasing comment to make" than an "errr, I noticed that too". Superb job on that biker, your color choice is basically perfect.

Spectacular job on Penny, colour balance is perfect, and the hair looks great.

If I may be rude enough to critique, in the picks it looks like the paint has come off a couple hair ends.

And being hyper critical the skin looks a little flat in the pictures. You probably have it much better in hand, but compared to the toning you have on the materials etc, the skin looks ....um.....flat. Only word I can think of. Like I say, probably just the pics, you normally get it bang on.

Bike is looking amazing.

Thanks Theo and Doc and evilDoc

C&C is always welcomed, Cam. Good eyes too. I think I mentioned what a PITA is is to keep this mini still while painting. The paint and primer have indeed rubbed off from the hair tips, and if you look carefully, on the left hand fingertips, and the left boot to boot. But using an actual screw to pin the mini seems to be doing the trick, and should be easily removed for mounting the mini on the bike too. I think I'll look into getting some very narrow diameter screws for future use, come to think of it. The feet were way too small to safely drill into.

The skin is just the base coat in those photos, at least the arms, face and decolletage, so it is indeed flat. . The midriff is done, but probably could use a bit more shading. I generally paint faces last-- when I should paint them first :S . The face on this mini is going to require some fairly subtle work too. It is very delicately detailed, so layers and layers of glazes to get it right. ( Or screw up horribly. I've had to flense the face of a mini and start over more than once.)

Good to know. Electronic miscommunications, what would the internet be without them? And no worries, It was just a joke, a bad joke but still, harmless....

Corvus Belli has a pro, a very, very good pro. For those of you who do not know, this guy http://www.facebook.com/StudioGiraldez But appreciate the vote of confidence.

A touch more work, and an extreme close-up WIP (that is a craft stick, BTW) Skin may still need some more shading... Or I need better photography skills ( probably both.)

The medallion is a horse head, or so I believe, and that is how it looks in the concept art. Not sure about keeping the googles that color. Yes, I see the hair on the leg. Basically I need to finish the face and hair, then get to work on the bike. I'll do the rest of the work on Penny once the mini is affixed to the bike, so that I get the highlights right ( and won't need to worry about rubbing off any more paint from the hands or hair or boots... )

Thanks for stopping by.

I find ladies faces more difficult as you don't have that wonderful 5 O'clock shadow to save the day. That's a better pic and can see what your saying now.

On the goggles, I like the rims, but would go with black or very dark brown lenses for realism, more than silver, but thats a thing of taste, I know we all have this thing for GW lenses being bright green or red or blue, but reality is they would more likely be brown tinted sunglasses, maybe black. Having said that dare you to paint them NMM chrome! LOL

Thanks Guys, and Penny is mostly done, I'll need to finisht the hair and do touch ups and final highlights, but that'll bea after the mini is attached (permanently) to the bike.

If you find yourself in a quandary, feel free to ask questions, Cleatus. Heaven Knows I do on other P&M blogs.

A few more WIPS
On the partially painted bike ( the blue is Phthalo blue, FYI. It plays well with other colors, unlike that most unruly Cobalt blue.)

A few close ups of the face, which I now see needs a touch up on the left side of the mouth

And extreme close-ups

I think the face is feminine enough, and without resorting to some of the cheaper tricks.

Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks Cam. Seeing things that magnified is a bit daunting, eh?

A little more work on the bike. I've got 12 days until the deadline, so I'm confident that I'll make it. Hopefully I finish this week-end, since I have no game night this Saturday. Yay, more Hobby time.

Late stage WIP.

I'm thinking that the lights on the bike be the usual reds and ambers. But the head-lights could be something different...

Seriously, enough. I've seen how this movie ends. Not well. And the correct pronoun for the mini is it, not she.

I should have some nice photos of the bike to post this coming Monday morning. We'll see how tonights painting goes. (There have been RL issues this weekend...)

Edit to Add:

Here are some WIPs of the bike. (I seem to be having fun with the macro setting on the camera.)

Just a bit more work needed on this side of it. (Famous last words)

Still debating headlamp color ( and you can see which side is not finished too.)

And for grins, in case anyone was wondering about where I got some of my ideas for color choices.

Beautiful work, Red. Fantastic. I really like the highlights on the engine.

If you don't mind me asking, how many hours have spent on this model? Ballpark. Personally, I could see spending 20-40 hours easily, but I'm a slow painter. Just curious.

Indeed. Thing is I'd rather my little thread stay, oh what is the euphemism, ah, "family friendly", more or less. Not an unreasonable expectation, not at all. Smutty comments about the minis tend to ruin that, and can leave a bad impression-- about the minis, the game, and possibly me-- with people who may just drop in, and worst of all, attract the attention of people who might start in on some other gak I don't care to see in my thread. ( Here, I suspect, one can find the sort of gak to which I refer. Haven't read it; won't ever read it, but I guarantee you that I have already heard everything that is being said there. I have no patience for any of it. Discussion closed. Next smutty comment gets reported.

No, I do not need to take a level or 2 in humor.

Bike is looking good. I would say yellow for the headlight. Just seems that is traditional but should work well with the rest of the bike too.

I really took a double take on the first bike photo thinking it a photoshop render. Did something similar for a photoshop assignment at uni many moons ago.

No worries Doc.

Thanks Archer. But, since I use a Linux OS, I don't have access to photoshop, so it is the real thing. As far as yellow headlamps go, amusingly enough, that's what I did. Kind of cool to then see it suggested. Great Minds et cetera eh?

Finished. Fun with the Macro setting still. Probably not a wise move for a contest, but whatevs.

360 photo montage. These are the photos I submitted for the contest. No, I still don't care about winning. I do care about getting a mini painted. Only 95 more Infinity minis to go But first, I think I'll finish the building I was working on.

Thanks for stopping by.
