Nice army! I agree about Mhorgoth. So many times I've come close to buying a KoW Undead army just for that guy, but the lack of interest in Fantasy round here kills that dream. Still might grab him just to paint next time I order from Mantic.

I have about 1500 points of Blood Angels and also Iron warriors. My only real decision is who gets the Land Raider? Am erring on the side of Chaos as my siege boys have mainly elite and fast attack choices currently.

I am also daunted by painting the red of the BA.

7 Chosen
5 CSM
35 Cultists
10 Raptors
5 Terminators
Heldrake

Maybe a Land Raider?

I think Chaos could benefit most from the LR, primarily for the Termies. BA could make use of it with the DC or the Termies, but DC Jump Packs are cheap enough now that they're a no-brainer, and Chaos Termies are probably more useful than BA ones with the right loadout.

As for red, I swear by GW Mechrite Red (now Mephiston Red) for BA. Black base, a single M. Red coat, Agrax Wash and re-highlight M. Red for pretty nice results. Check out the GW youtube BA painting guide if you haven't already, it's surprisingly good.

Land raiders are cool, doesn't chaos get access to some kind of techmarine now? Or does he just mess up enemy tanks?

I bought the Mephiston red spray, but it was thin as Kate Moss. After shaking it for about 10 minutes too, but your recipe seems a good route to go. Am going to tackle some BA today, will hopefully show the results tomorrow.

I think you are right about the Chaos Terminators, have to get those Combi weapons, Reaper Autocannon and power weapons into range somehow.

@Grim will have to delve into the codex but I do not remember such a tech marine

I have a feeling the Warpsmith is more an anti-techmarine. He can repair, but can also Curse an enemy vehicle (gives all its guns 'Gets Hot'), and before the game can lower the cover of one piece of terrain by 1. Pretty neat abilities, and IW should run one on principle!

Damn Iron Warriors. They're one of those chaos legions that seems to live in the back of my brain popping out when people talk about them or show off neat minis and trying to make me get/paint some

I like the Warpsmiths equipment, power axe and the mecha tendrils give him +2 attcks and the choice of a flamer or meltagun shot every time. But is he really there to kill stuff? I dunno, I think he is more there for the abilities that Para listed.

Anyway...progress. My first Blood Angel, and thanks to Para's recipe it was not as difficult as I thought.

I am using the Terminators from the Deathstorm box, but as a result of an ebay purchase I had some assault arms lying around so turned the unit into assault Terminators:







A few touch-ups are needed but I am very happy with the result. Next up are the rest of his unit and an old friend:

Looking good, that's a nice strong red and neat as well.

Firstly, nice work on the BA terminators. Good solid reds on them.

Second- how did you do the eye lenses? It looks like white with Waywatcher Green glaze but I can't be sure.

Also- what's happened to your Hawk Lords by the way?

My Hawk Lords are still going, in fact I may finish my assault squad tonight. I have a tactical, terminator and bike squad to do for them for now (all from the DV boxed set).

Seeing the pictures my red the evil sunz scarlet and wild rider red highlights are not that apparent, but they are there.

Nice- I've found drybrushing the layers on works very well with reds.

Terminators look nice, it's a good red. Looking forward to that Dreadnought.

Nice job on the reds they look to have gone down very smoothly, something I've never been able to manage, can't wait to see what you do with the IW.

Very fast, very nice, awesome stuff! Furioso is my pick of the bunch, for some reason I don't own one but I think I'll have to before I call it a day on my BA.
