We'll find out soon enough eh.

See, bringing Mark Strong on board, the things being said in the interview, it all sounds lovely. I just can't get past the fact it's a mobile game. I've played mobile games I enjoyed, but no matter how big the hype was before they came out, not once have I played a mobile game that could give me the kind of experience I'd want from an Eisenhorn story.

It comes down to the simple fact that touchscreens are not capable of providing a "core gaming" experience. If this turns out to be decent and you ever decide to port it to PC and implement proper controls, I'll happily buy it, but until then; pass.

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?

Couldn't they have just made up a new character for this. Why do I have a feeling they will try to mess up Eisenhorn's story here. Or do they have Dan Abnett writing the game's story?

‘Pixel Heroes are a talented outfit, and matching their skill with the story and characters of this much loved and best-selling book will create a unique and characterful experience,’ said Games Workshops Head of Licensing, Jon Gillard. ‘They’ve captured the look and feel of the Xenos novel wonderfully, and this distinctive take will allow players to interact with the Warhammer 40,000 universe in ways not seen before.’

Sounds somehow familiar.. do they copy-paste this to every game dev announcement?

Hi Yodhrin,

We are also doing a P.C. (via STEAM) release

It was mentioned in both the last interview I did, and in the Mark Strong press release

Also, as I commented on the interview we did for Starburst, we started with a console style of gameplay controls first (so a gamepad), and have moved that to mobile. P.C. can be controlled with a gamepad or mouse and keyboard, so 'proper' controls are in and accounted for already!

I did not notice that thanks for clarifying. Damn, now I'll be anticipating this - you better not bugger it up with grotesque microtransactionry or the like

I'd really like to read the first page of this topic, so any chance of throwing a spoiler tag around that huge-ass pic screwing up the width of the forum on my phone?

(not that I hold it much hope of playing the game: it's a windows phone)

In reference to that model of Eisenhorn or GW's IP licencing policy?

Brother SRM wrote:I was always hoping for a Mass Effect-style Inquisitor game, but this doesn't seem like it'll be anything close to it.......smartphone games in general aren't exactly known for depth and quality.

Same here, I've been wishing they'd do an Inquisition-focussed CRPG for ages. I recently purchased the Warhammer Quest game and was disapointed by it. Not becuase it was a bad game, but because it could have been a great game were it not subject to the restrictions placed upon its development by its native tablet platform. Despite a really rather sucessful run of PC (and latterly, console) titles based upon the 40K IP, since the demise of THQ GW seems to have shyed away from proper games development in favour of a sucession of frequently naff mobile games, and I'm not really sure why. It's encouraging that this game is being developed with a PC release in mind from the beginning, but, IMHO, it would be better if developers left mobile phones to Snake and Tetris rather than trying to shoe-horn a full-blown gaming experience onto a device designed to make phonecalls.

For Epmerror's sake, why couldn't they just give the zoggin' licence to Telltale?!?! Instead, yet another mobile "action"...

Not Telltale and 40k, but Telltale and Eisenhorn specifically – to radical or not to radical, THAT is the question.
Also, isn't half of "Titanicus" political intrigue?

Hiya!

As I've mentioned before... the game is also being developed for P.C.

Actually I don;t know if anyone has the power to do this... but maybe it would be helpful to change the topic title so it includes P.C. as well as mobile?

To edit the title you have to be either the Original Poster (OP) or a Mod.

The OP here happens to also be a Mod, but since he's AWOL right now...

You know there's a lot of statements here that make it hard for developers.

"Not buying a part a game" means the game will cost more if there's no DLC & IAP. It's very understandable to want the full content.

However that puts you into "6.99 for a game????? How dare you!"

If you hold both you're going to see mobile games that don't have a lot of depth to them for because you're making it really hard for the developers to pay their staff.

I've paid as much as $19.95 for a game for my iPad because it was a complete experience. Sell me the game once, not 7 times and not "here's a crappy character to play through which is junk and make your quit in futility or buy GodMode Superkilla for $4.99".

It's more a blunderbus than a shotgun, but some of those bits of IP shrapnel must hit the target. We can but hope this will be one of them.
