GW owes nothing to buyers concerning items not currently for sale.

The idea that GW should follow Privateer Press's style is a valid concept, but when GW sells exponentially more products at a far greater volume, you can't say they are the same.

If GW wants buyers then it should damn well consider it owing buyers something.

If they were much more open with their customers concerning future releases then people might buy more of their product.

Say someone with a limited budget wants both a Privateer Press model and a GW model which will cost the same and one model will take up their whole budget. They know PP are releasing the product on the 3rd but have no idea when GW are releasing their model. In fact there isn't any confirmation that the model is even being released or has been made. GW are going to release it on the 11th but haven't told anyone.

So our hypothetical hobbyist buys the Privateer Press model on the 3rd and then the day after GW announces the release of the product he wanted. But it's too late, he doesn't have the money for that product any more. GW lost a sale that month and the customer is left frustrated. With prior warning of the models release he could have budgeted more for this month by reducing his hobby budget in other months.

How far out GW choses to give its release schedule is entirely up to them. Privateer press and GW are not the same game, so a person buying a Privateer Press model isn't going to use it to play GW games, or visa versa. Everyone, at this point, should know full well that orks are coming this month. What more do you need?

So what Orks are coming this month then? What units? How any models in each box? Price of those boxes? You know, everything you need to know what fits in a budget?

I'd say the guy is just trollin'. Might need to be ignored.

I really like this painting series, but wow, do I hate the idea of doing a glaze after the base+wash+drybrush. Also, I don't think his Badmoon Yellow is nearly as bright as it is on the box. I much prefer basecoat the actual color I want + wash + highlight + highlight.

It's entirely possible that a person would play multiple games from multiple companies - I play Khador, Circle Orboros, and orks. If my hobby budget for the month is $50, and I know Privateer Press is releasing a kit on the 5th, but Games Workshop might be releasing one on the 23rd... well, I might just go for the confirmed released over the "maybe".

Why is it trolling to say that a company has no obligation to give you more information about their release schedule than they feel appropriate?

There is nothing saying you need to buy models the day or month they come out. Who even has time to assemble and paint that many new models at a shot?

I get the frustration some people have, but there is no pleasing people on release schedules. If they gave info a month out, people would want two months. If three months they want six. Even worse would be the complaints at a delay or if they flip flop releases due to production issues. They may lose sales, but they may gain sales on models soon to be replaced. To me, that is a disingenuious for them to do that approach, but it is their business.

Haha I was going to say the same thing. I think I'm not going to be able to buy the Necron Triarch Stalker now since I didn't buy it the day it came out. Too bad for me, I don't care if it's on the store, i can't seem to be able to buy it for some reason lol

edit: Still, I can't wait to see what the leakers bring us, more pics of what's coming out

I'll agree that for us fun comes in many flavors.

For an ork, though, there is only one flavor - a good duffing.

Giving or taking. It doesn't matter.

And, for an ork thread, this seems to have far more mathematicians, over analysis and outright reservation and reluctance than any ork clan would ever allow.

Crunch Knuckle: "Dah right arm is a gatling gun made out of gatling guns. Dah leff one is Mork-or-maybe-Gork's Klaw. Dah Klaw is as thick and 'eavy as a kan, and you an' dah nobs can burst outta itz belly and start krumpin' 'eads. And its all yours, boss!"

KneeJerk dah Doubta: "I 'ad me odd boyz run dah numbas, and dey jus' aren't impressive. I filnk dere's jus' no room in my clan for a towering, lumbering embodimunt ov me god dat 'as dakka bolted all ova erry inch ov its outside and spillz me and a 'alf dozen boyz all ova dah enemy like a pinata party in a space marine's nightmare.

Nope. Got no room for one or two ov dose in dis clan.

[Clears throat]By the way, may I take this opportunity to I dispell another deplorable myth? I roundly reject the notion that orks are universally poor speakers."

Crunch Knuckle: "I toll you ya'd katch sumthin' from dem humies ifya went krumpin wivvout your gas mask. You've got dah worst case of ova-analytis I've eva seen. Groggle, fetch dah painboy and tell 'im to bring 'is brain saw. 'E'll fix dah boss rite proppa."

The orks you are going to field will spontaneously slap a few sheets of metal, engine and wheels together and immediately stake their lives on it without doubt or hesitation. It would be good for all of us to remember that beautiful little fact about the game's best fething race.

Take what you like, use it in your game and make it work for you. If not slap some new plans and scrap together and try again. Imagine how impotent the ork race would be if they were as afraid of failure and as full of unfounded reservations as we are.

OMG!! I'm ROFLMAO @ this!! You, good sir, summed it up perfectly!

If even half these rumors are true, i'll be a happy warboss. All I have to do now is pimp out some of the older rollerskate trukks and buggies with new vehicle bitz, add grot drivers, and start a mekanized waaagh.

I also have 2 metal Mega Armored ork bodies, that are looking at the bitz from the MANz box coming!

Im just hoping the dakkajet doesent get a price increase until I can pick up 2 of them... Damn, just jinxed it.

Purely a wishlist suggestion, but wouldn't it be cool if after the Naugt gets wrecked the KFF is still active, so the Boyz can have their Inv bubble hiding around the wreckage? Seems orky to me, and would make it worth its points.

Not sure that someone mentioned it already, but the Codex is not on the website anymore
and the Big Mek with KFF is "No longer available"

in the UK, the Deffkoptas are not on the website anymore, and the only Mek listed is the Big Mek with Bosspole

I'm just waiting on anything...something, from the new WD.

It seems they've delayed shipments to my FLGS, which usually gets them on tuesday. Very odd.

My store almost always gets theirs early. Last weeks' WD came on tuesday, nothing yet this week for the new WD.

DON'T!! Put them in a meat grinder! It warps them into what looks like twisted girders. I use them for terrain & flocking my bases.

Huh interesting. But no, finding something to do with them wasn't the problem, I've used them as bricks in terrain, parts of objective markers, grot artillery, and I have found if you whittle them down the right way, they make good wooden posts or poles.

THey just took up too much space and I knew I had more than enough models to take up all my spare time, so I triaged them out
