And to keep this on topic, is anyone else afraid we're just getting some cool new units and no actual codex?

Not really. I mean, if they were supplementing codexes and basically use the release as a means of public playtesting/feedback I'd be okay with that, but I don't expect GW to do something like that honestly.

Agreed. I have seen no evidence in their history which would lead me to suspect this for a MAIN faction (they did it for Blood Angels a while back).

Ork Ruzzbot (Heavy Support choice)
Points Cost: 200 points
Unit: 1 Ruzzbot
Type: Walker

WS4 BS2 S7 I1 A3 Front Armor 14 Side Armor 13 Rear Armor 11

Armament: 1 Belly Gun, 2 twin-linked big shootas, and 1 Dreadnought close combat weapon. Additionally, the Ruzzbot must choose one of the following weapons at the points cost listed: A Supa-Kannon (+50 points), a Deff Ray (+40 points), a Gatling Blasta (+40 points), or a Big Skorcha (free). The Ruzzbot may also be armed with a single Big Rokkit for +25 points.

Options: The Ruzzbot may take the following vehicle upgrades from the Ork codex: Grot riggers for +5 points, armor plates for +10 points.

Belly Gun: Range 24", S10, AP2, Ordnance 1, Large Blast
Supa-Kannon: Range 48", S8, AP3, Ordnance 1, Large Blast
Deff Ray: Range 48", S9, AP2, Ordnance 1, Blast
Gatling Blasta*: Range 36", S6, AP3, Heavy D6+2
Big Skorcha**: Template, S6, AP4, Assault 1
Big Rokkit***: Unlimited Range, S7, AP4, Heavy 1, Large Blast, Barrage

* Each time the Gatling Blasta fires, roll 1d6 and add 2; this is the number of shots it fires that time.
** When firing the Big Skorcha, place the pointed end of the template up to 6" from the weapon, with the rounded end of the template no closer to the weapon than is the pointed end. The shot is then resolved in the same way as a shot from any other template weapon.
*** The Big Rokkit may only be fired once per game.

Special Rules
Dead 'Ard: The Ruzzbot's large size means that it can take a quite a bit of damage and still remain operational. The first time in the game that a Ruzzbot suffers a "Destroyed" result on the Vehicle Damage table will count as a "Crew Stunned" result instead, as the Ruzzbot stands motionless and smoking while it's crew scramble to get it running again (Note that Armor Plates vehicle upgrade may not downgrade this to a "Crew Shaken" result). After the first "Destroyed" result of the game, apply vehicle damage results as normal.

Monstrous: The Ruzzbot is much bigger and stronger than dreadnoughts or most other walkers, and it's close combat weapon (typically an enormous power-klaw or a ten-foot chainsaw blade) is capable of tearing even a heavy tank in half with ease. Against vehicles struck by the Ruzzbot's Dreadnought Close Combat Weapon, roll 2d6 rather than 1d6 for armor penetration, and add a +1 modifier to vehicle damage rolls made for any hits inflicted. If the Ruzzbot's dreadnought close combat weapon is destroyed, these effects are lost along with the other benefits of a dreadnought close combat weapon.

Multiple Gunners: The Ruzzbot usually has a crew of at least a half-dozen Orks and Grots clambering around inside it's mechanical guts and operating it's various weapons. Consequently, during the shooting phase, the Ruzzbot may fire at two separate targets. Simply declare which weapons are firing at the first target and which are firing the second target (any weapon or combination of weapons can fire at either target), and resolve the shooting as normal. Both targets must be in the Ruzzbot's frontal arc at the same time; it cannot fire at one target in it's frontal arc, then pivot to shoot at another target that was outside of it's frontal arc when it was shooting at the first target.

In looking at the Mek Gunz kit, I noticed there were 6 grots included in the box; however, according to the WD rules, the gun comes with 2 grots and you can add up to 2 more for a total of 4 grots (that is some serious math-hammering right there! . Why do you think they added 2 extra grots in the kit? Are they expecting some kit bashing? While the kit appears to be somewhat over-costed, it seems like you can possible get 3 guns/box with the requisite number of grots at least.

There are probably some grots that are to be on separate bases and have a use game-wise, and others to be glued on or around the guns tinkering or fixing it.

Like the grotz on the stompa, or the grot riding the pole from the biker kit, or the one in the ammo belt from the big shoots in the commando box.

The additional grots might be intended as Ammo Runts too.

Kinda off topic but does anyone have any ideas on what to use a chassis for a custom built BW? I have 3 standard ones but im looking to make one for my inevitable flash gits squad and dont feel like dropping the cash for another one.

If you've got lots of plasticard, there's a certain series of dollar store construction vehicles that have amazingly similar dimensions to a battle wagon...hehehe.

Why would you say this and not link the series.

I think this has been GW's direction since the Imperial Knight. Almost all kits since have been great for kitbashing, converting, and magnetising. I'm really eager to see the sprues for the Mek gunz and new SAG. From the WD pics it says the guns are chosen after the chassis is built, so it will probably be a nice, easy magnetisation.

Being able to magnetize the guns on a single base would be great. I think this is going to be a really fun kit to build, plus kit bash.

I don't think it's been posted here, found on Faeit 212

Options Out of the New Meganobz Kit.
A New Meganob kit is coming around according to rumors, and this snippet of info, is saying that there will be build options. Both an Armored Big Mek or Warboss. Please remember that these are rumors.
via an anonymous source on Faeit 212
Passed on some info. He said that you will be able to make a Mega Armored Big Mek or Warboss out of the new Meganobz kit. Similar to how Nork Deddog can be assembled out the Ogryn kit.

Big Mek seems very plausible, but don't see how a nob can be bulked up enough to do a warboss.

Some kind of spacer in the torso maybe?

Seems unlikely. Even the AOBR Waarboss was bigger than a MANZ

If this is true, with the cannons, the Flashgitz and now this, we could end up with bitz, bitz and more bitz for home projects .... I like it!

I'm just currious if there's gonna be a body frame large enough to represent a warboss.

I guess if you want a massive war boss, you take Ghaz.

The only reference I have is my AOBR warboss and I always assumed that the stand alone warbosses must have been about the same size. But yes, the Ghaz models is what I always use for my Mega Armored Warboss.

I sincerely do hope we see a Mega-Armoured Big Mek with possibly tellyportaz as an option.

AOBR boss is bigger than the other non-mega armor war boss models.

Technically you can also build a Warboss from the current Nob box as it comes with all the upgrades, including an attack squig. There's nothing in the rules that says a Warboss HAS to be bigger, or on a TEQ base. That's the Ork player's preference.

But it also says a battle report. There was a battle report in the other WD, but it was never a "coming next week" type of thing. This leads people to believe it could be codex info.

The codex will be the last thing released so it won't be after big guns that will be oddboyz (mek boys, pain boys, weird boys)
Basicly HQ types so guessing no codex

So week after that will prob be mega nobz and maybe the codex after that but if so that will be the end of the ork release model wise so no buggies or deffkopters let's hope I am wrong

Deffkopta's still there on GW US site, but we can still hope.

Maybe MANZ will be released with the codex, because both are almost as old as each other, I think. When did the current MAN models come out.

Dang. It won't be too sad to see them go as they desperately need to be updated, but they are some amazing sculpts.

Since they're keeping the old big guns instead of updating them, maybe GW will keep the old meganobs as well? Buy one for 20 bucks, or 3 for 60!
