Ok so without trawling through around 60 pages of missed comments, has anyone gathered anything new?
Cos the most I've heard new wise is that the new Flash Gitz are up for purchase/pre-order; there's a combo-box with a G/Morkanaut, warboss and 5 nobz; and that there may be a model of a big mek in mega armour with a KFF and KMB
EDIT: amended mistake

So they use the term teleporter on the WD cover. Hopefully that is a feature of a new item and not a descriptive term for the SAG, which is a teleportation weapon.

Huh, didn't think about that before. With higher BS, big guns suddenly make more sense.
So, if we go by squidbots prediction, what can we expect from oddboyz? The new doc, new mek, anything else?

Dang. It won't be too sad to see them go as they desperately need to be updated, but they are some amazing sculpts.
Since they're keeping the old big guns instead of updating them, maybe GW will keep the old meganobs as well? Buy one for 20 bucks, or 3 for 60!
I adore those metal lugs. The new ones look really similar. I may or may not need to buy a set just for the additional bits (I have 13 of the old pewter ones already).

Considering the single mek in the big gunz unit and the pain boy removed from flash gits, we'll probably see an entry allowing you to pick X meks, docs and weird boyz and distribute them to units, with meks maybe being able to pic relics (gubbins? ).
Weird boyz might have a new table to roll powers from, if we're lucky, two.
SAG probably stays similar, with some mishaps getting streamlined (for example 2 and 12 causing D blasts instead of delete area).
Maybe a peek at the ork's relics, if we get any. Has any codex not gotten relics so far? Tau?

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe. |

NOPE! Holding out for the Codex. No point in dropping $ on something to have it be lame when the new Dex arrives.

Slow release isn't working for me simply because I won't be buying them from GW. I will either be buying from a FLGS (don't have one right now) or an online discounter. I will probably buy what I 'NEED' to make my 40k of orks functional in the new edition/codex and then the rest as I feel like making something new.
Sounds like right now the only models I 'Need' are the big gunz. I have MANZ and SAGs out the wazoo and am not sold on the Gorkanaughts for gameplay yet. I probably will also tackle flash gits as I have 10 metal nobz which can be flash gitz with some work.

I have bought a gorkanaut, pre ordered 2 boxes of flashgitz, will potentially get a single gun, one box of mega nobs if the bits are good, any clamshell characters, and the book.
Doubt I would have bought more or less if they had all come out at once, but I don't have a problem with this release style.

That just means that you're the kind of person who values the visual of models a lot higher than their gaming value. Nothing wrong with that, have fun in any way you like
However, for people who think different (like me), it's pain to have all those new toyz dangled in front of their noses without knowledge whether they are actually worth the money/time to buy or build them. Because if they are terrible in the game, I wont be using them often. If I had unlimited money, I'd just buy them all right now. Sadly I do not, so I have to wait and see what models to get.

I'm glad there's somewhere in the world no one runs AV14. Good for you mate.
On a side note, am I the only one that doesn't like the smasha gun? It's basically an AP1 Zzap gun without the kill a grot rule. It should have been S6 w/ 2d6 for armour penetration, or S (7 + D3).
It just seems so Meh.

Hahaha, I do play in every tournament I can and I enjoy every aspect of this hobby. My usual strategy for AV14 is ignore it and save it for last. I'd be in trouble against multiple Land Raiders, though I think my Deffrollas would help. I normally bring Battlewagons full of Lootaz, 3 Dakkajets, Nob Bikers and big squads of Shootas. Works ok for me, thoughI tend to murder in practice games and then barely pull out the win when it's go time. I love Flash Gitz and Manz, and bring them to almost all my friendly games. It'll be an added bonus if they are viable units.
To be fair I've been saving money for this release for over a year, so I have money to burn on frivolous models just to add to my collection

Also, overpricing aside, I thought the Norn Crown was actually a decent item. Extended Synapse range is always a good thing for Nids.

Well I'm glad AV14 isn't a pain for you. You seem to run the same units I do, and AV 14 is the bane of my existence. Regularly I run across multi-land raiders, or Leman Russ spam. I was hoping this book would give us a good reliable way of dealing with it other then another Zzap gun, or punch it more.

Does anyone else think that the new dimensions on the Mek Gunz might end up being a bit prohibitive on some deployments? As it is I can struggle to get all my models on the table in some of the smaller deployment zones, especially when they are filled with terrain. My old Big Gunz managed to fit, but not always strategically, and with both the size of the model increasing dramatically and the model count increasing by two per heavy slot, it seems having a full battery is going to be very hard to place and quite often. Has anyone gotten the actual dimensions yet?
