Basicly HQ types so guessing no codex

So week after that will prob be mega nobz and maybe the codex after that but if so that will be the end of the ork release model wise so no buggies or deffkopters let's hope I am wrong

Just noticed no deffkopter on gw site at all so maybe there is hope after all lol
I doubt they would do a special release for MANz unless they have some kind of rule change.

MANZ have new models, and Ghazghkull is getting an upgrade (potentially) too. So I could see a special release for MANZ. Maybe with a supplement codex for Da Big WAAAGH that was mentioned in the last issue of WD. That's something that could come after the codex too, but I dunno. I wish they'd drop the codex already. This slow release is killin me.

What I can't understand is why someone hasn't yet spill the beans on the codex.

Something, anything, about it... I don't know !

Tankbustas, Kommandos are in dire need of a refresh, surely someone in a warehouse must have opened the book and had a peek... tell us!

One thing I noticed, and who knows what it means, but in the most recent issue of WD (Flash Gits), in the article where they show how to use a deck of playing cards in a 40K game, there's a plastic Deffkopta model on the field. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere but it seems odd that GW would have an older model like that photographed in a game. Maybe nothing, maybe evidence that AOBR Koptas will be replacing the current ones.

It seems like GW have done a reasonably good job plugging those leaks, the past few releases we haven't been getting any pictures of publications until a few days before they release (when retailers get them).

....I wonder if it's helped their sales at all, lol.

I can't imagine that keeping the codex so firmly under wraps can have done anything to help sales of the models being released just before said codex...

Orks have been my 'main' army for over 15 years now. I want to be excited about a new codex... but they're really not giving me anything to work with, here. Particularly with the uncertainty hanging over any unit that doesn't currently have a model...

Just out of interest;
Is this slow release model actually working for them?

I mean I know that I havent bought any of he new figures, and will not be untill i can buy what I want with the new codex at the same time.
How about the rest of you? bought anything atall from the new releases? or are you awaiting the end of it before dropping the £££?
Atleast fo me, the slow release week by week is hurting GW financially, they spend money every week advertising and printing their magazine to show off the new stuff (I dont buy that either) al in vein as I will not be purchasing anything untill its all out...

Just peaked my interest lol, wondering if more people are buying things each week? or waiting?

'Ain't nothing crazy about me but my brain. Right brain? Riight! No not you right brain! Right left brain? Right!... Okay then lets do this!!

The only thing that is actually out is the Gorkanaut/Morkanaut, so you know, little too early to tell.

I've bought a White Dwarf a week, to keep up with the new stuff. Which is saying something, as they are the first White Dwarfs I've picked up since the relaunch.

Perhaps we'll see the release of "Codex: Fightumus Dakkestus" and have the Mega-Armoured Nobz in their own book, "Codex: Hardestus Nobitarum". A Hardestus Nobitarum army has its own force organisation slot, and is Battle Brothers with everyone.

I don't even know where to buy White Dwarf anymore... The local newsagent used to have it, but they appear to only have Visions now. I vaguely recall a mention when the format changed that White Dwarf was only going to be available through GW directly... Given that the nearest GW store is 45 minutes drive away, that's not happening.

Meh, you are not missing much.

New model article.
Advertisement for Visions
New model pics.
New model beating the stuffing out of stuff in a battle report.
Hey look what's coming up in next issue.
Advertisement for Visions.

I think they are trying a little harder with the newest Ork related issues, they are previewing the stats.

This weeks issue had an article on how you can deploy randomly using a deck of cards. You can tell the development team was pattign themselves on the back over this, but it's not really any different than picking squad names out of a hat. Oh, and there is a variation, which no on will play ever, where you randomly don't get to use random selections from your army list.

All that being said, I enjoy the new White Dwarf MORE than the subscription I renewed when 6th edition dropped. After they dropped the Ork Flyer rules issue, the rest were nothing but tons, and tons, and tons, of advertisements. The new White Dwarf is really just a big advertisement, but it's more concise, so you don't get fatigued and aggrivated with all the advertisements. It's probably written a little better now, and the paper is higher quality.

I haven't, and certainly won't won't. buy anything until I know whether or not I consider it worth fielding. Which means they won't see a single coin of mine until I have a look at the codex, and even then, if the codex is botched badly enough, I won't even bother with it.

Do you feel better now that you've gotten that off your chest ?

Yes, even I'm waiting till the Codex drops before making any large purchases, but they are at least showing the stats the week in White Dwarf a week BEFORE you can actually get your hands on the models, so it's not like they are expecting us to make completely blind and uninformed choices.

After seeing some conversions and homebrews, I think the Morkanaught would look soooooo much cooler with tracks in place of the legs. Just slap some on at the hips.

Not exactly inspiring when the same team will be showing off a codex in the coming weeks

I'm afraid there'll be the same 'Orks do what they want, which is random, so they make random rolls' treatment that chaos got.

It's an article about new optional game mechanics, so it's actual content, which is something I approve of.

I may not particularly have any use for that particular content, but any new content in White Dwarf is better than subtle advertising for this weeks new release.

I look forward to more articles.

I'd kill for an article on how to build Ork terrain, or scratch build anything Orky

Oooh, that's a really good idea!

I sometimes use sprues, cut in half to make make frames for buildings, then covered with corrugated cardboard "plates", painted in metallic, which makes an easy and awesome little sheet metal shack.

Anybody thought about imperial knight conversion for a 'naut? I was thinking a giant net / scrotum holding modeled Grots wriggling around some MANz trying to cut through the netting with PKs. Lol. Makes me giggle every time.

Given that we've seen NOTHING about koptas, or buggies, I have a real suspicion that we will get to wait (maybe a little, maybe half a year ) for a Evil Suns/Speed Freaks supplement, which will have some models (koptas, buggies) and some rules. That may mean that Wazzdakka gets axed for now, and then released later in a box that makes him, or a boss, or maybe even a mek or doc on bike.

That's nothing but speculation, but I really don't see them removing the rules for buggies, trakks, and koptas, and I don't see them keeping the current models available in any format. I'm not overjoyed about it, but it would make sense with what we've seen so far.

I have the Flash Gitz sprues in my hands, and yes, they're even nicer in reality than in last week's WDW pics. Top notch castings, Definitely one of the best thought-out kits I've ever seen in terms of modularizability (if that's a word )

It even comes with a wee 4 page booklet explaining what fits to what, and what order to put it all together.

Ridiculously easy (if a bit fiddly) to make the standard models, and I'm really looking forward to the results when people start converting them, e.g. with Nobz bits.

Out of all the codex supplements we've had, I think only one was released alongside a model. I wouldn't hold out much hope for a second wave of ork releases.

With no offence ment, unless you purely are a model collector, anyone sending money on new stuff before the codex is released is a little bit silly imho.

We're not supposed to field (and, by extension, purchase) anything except the one most OP broken unit in the codex. This opinion has been expressed several times in the thread already.

I can. For a competitive point of view, the Morkanaut looked good, and might have seen play even though it was a bit overpriced. With the release of the ridiculously efficient mek guns, there is no reason to every field a Morkanaut instead of a battery of kannons or kustom mega kannons.

Unless you know the stats of all other units you could field instead, your new purchase has a high chance of ending up on the shelf until the next codex.

Funny, coming from the person that claimed that no one should ever field nauts instead of battlewagons.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.
