i can vouch that giving a unit of 30 boyz Cybork bodies and FNP makes them ridiculously durable. Ive ran Grotsnik in them a few times, but his insanity makes me not like it since theyre forced to run to the nearest target even if its the end of the game and moving that far makes them leave an objective.
Probably be running that list again with a normal Painboy/boss/whatever they call him if i can attach him to boyz and give them cyborks lol. Grotsnik really isnt that awesome since his Poisoned rule is on a different weapon from his PK, so hes not that different from a painboy outside T5 and +1 wound lol.

EDIT: Hell, i might even try running 2-3 boy squads with that tactic lol. Expensive as gak, think it was 370pts for a 30man boyz squad with nob/klaw and no gun upgrades before factoring in Grotsnik himself. But that one unit survived a LOT of firepower, in the end i only lost about half of them - imagine 3 of them rofl.

That's what I'm wishing for. A non-kiteable Mad Doc.

Just speculation, but could it be possible that the ork horde formation gives something like the old mob rule, so you have to choose between that and objective secured? The BoW video seemed to have a sentence fragment which sounded like part of a rule in it...

If Nobs have the same Ld as Flash Gits, then it looks like we will be rather dependent on Independent Characters for leadership, depending on how bad the table is (still, it's unlikely to be worse than the usual results of failing a Ld roll). If Painboys are Ld 8 like the FW Painboss and give FNP and are reasonably priced, then they will probably be in much demand.

Doesn't seem that the multiple bosspoles for the Flash Gits actually do anything.

I really enjoyed running Painboss in my boys mobs via the FW list already, gotta say I'm happy he made the cut as a vanilla HQ choice.

Also Badrukk an HQ... very nice

I run PainBoss and cybork boys in most of my list. This works out to be roughly as a 4++ on boys, which is a fantastic tar pit for bullets.

How about single detachment games/events? How about wanting to run only 1 HQ and 9 Troops? C'mon now...

So homerules and one niche build. Still not *much* of a use right there.

Would have been much more relevant last edition

I've never anticipated a codex more. Must be GW's marketing scheme working out..

In addition to plastic MANZ, Grot Orderly says a plastic Mega-Armoured Warboss, along with a 50 dollar pricetag - way better than 60, as has been thought previously. This is something that's been wanted since it was seen in the codex - finally it has a model it seems!

From Grot Orderly - "And in the following issue we should be getting new Mega Nobz! Finally! Who else might be called the biggest orks? I bet the boxset will cost us the same as the Ogryns boxset, 28.50 pounds. There will be an option to build three Nobz or two and a Warboss."

Depending on whether or not their Painboy has to be in mega armor (if you can attach a non-armored PB to their unit, that is), I might want to pick that set up. I've got an old resin MAN that I use as a Warboss in a non-armored nob mob who's proven to be nearly indestructible with cybork/FNP.

So are they being released this weekend or not?

It says pre-order 14th release 21st but they aren't available for pre-order?

We'll see...the chart could be great. I was kinda thinking it might be fun to bring a bit of Animosity to Orks, as long as it wasn't too crazy and ruin battle plans.

Right... Because most Orc players LOVE the animosity roll.

I'm willing to save judgement for when I see the chart. I can see this being better for trukk Boyz, but at the same time a lil worse for foot slogging Boyz.

How is this better for Trukkboyz ?
Trukkboyz relied heavily on the Bosspole re-roll for leadership checks, and this implies Bosspoles will give a reroll on the chart, not leadership...

You have no idea what you are talking about. When trukk boyz start rolling for leadership, you need snake eyes to pass.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

Its the same statement as before, you just interpreted "much" as "any".

I want changes to FoC, army entries etc to have some substantial effect. When the effect of a special FoC can be largely replicated via the standard application of regular FoC, whats the point?

Edit: Forgot the obligatory Ork face

The command benefits may be different also, as a previous poster suggested. That could make a huge difference, just like super scoring troops does.

Thats certainly a difference - though the hammer of wrath mentioned earlier is a bit underwhelming

...The reality is that not everyone in the internet-community will ever be happy.

Sure.

Although fewer of them might be unhappy if GW didn't remove an option from the codex just because they couldn't be bothered to release a model for it sometime in the last 15 years, and are all paranoid about other companies 'stealing' sales of the model that they don't make...

Mods, First post could do with some updating. OP isn't going to do it, we all knew he was bogus from the start and i don't know why we continued with his thread.

In my opinion i will be very sad if painboys and weirdboyz are HQs. They should be treated like the AM priests and pyskers!!!

I always press dat, if you know what I mean.

So, that Warboss edition... Is Ghaz included as an entry in the economy edition of the codex or is he exclusive to that fancy supplement? I know the supplement makes him a LoW, but unless I missed it, no mention of his standard entry.

The multiple Codex posts are confusing. Some say we will see 2 versions of the Codex, while others say 3. So will there be a Standard, Limited and Warlord version, or just Standard and Warlord versions?

Just Standard and Warlord/Warboss. The Warlord/Warboss version IS the limited ed. version, so that's why it's a little confusing.

Weirdboys already are HQ, and Painboys being able to give any unit FNP is basically the best thing. Plus, they're not AM, sooooo, yeah

I understand that, but it would suck if our 2 HQ choices are clogged up more. We orks need our warbosses on bikes and mega warbosses to do some big killing and to make our nobs and meganobs troops.

Clearly we are not AM but AM was obviously made for 7th edition and thats why they made the pyskers not count towards HQ.
So if we orks dont get some of same love I will be disappointed. Hence my previous comment.

Thanks Deunstephe! So the Warboss version (don't know where I got Warlord from ) is the one rumored to be $ 200, correct?

Well, if you need more HQ, just take another detachment. That way, you can have a detachment with a Warboss that unlocks Nobz troops (assuming that Nobz can still be taken as troops - rumors are that bikes are no longer troops in any case).

Were not the other limited edition codex priced at $100 ?
