It actually isn't much of a surprise that 900 points of warboss beat 300 points of knight. The knight might kill one or two though.

For your definition of good, not mine. If I used that definition I'd be the proud owner of a TauDar army. I'm not because I gauge how good an army is by how much I and my opponent laugh...

I've played orks (or orcs) since I was about 9. I'm now 33.

Just 1 or 2 people. Per page.

I've just been assuming that, instead of the stupid cut and paste error, unit composition should be 1 looted wagon. But I guess there's still a possibility
it was intended to be 1-3 looted wagons (I know, it's probably just wishful thinking on my part).

No, no, no. That's the exclusive WDW list. In the codex you get a looted wagon for 37 pts. If you have the WDW however, you can take a Gorkanaut for the same price.

A Gorkanaught model perhaps, but not with Gorkanaught stats, armour or options.

Maybe so, but it still counts as a gorkanaut for the purposes of formation compositions.

Is it really a Gorkanaught when it doesn't have the statline of a Gorkanaught (much less a walker)?

It's an obvious mistake that I don't see being reasonable to try and force people to put Gorkanaught models on the table for when it's called a "Looted Wagon", is a non-walker vehicle, doesn't have the options, statline, points costs, transport capacity or anything else of the Gorkanaught. Sure that's RAW, but it's also pants on head dumb.

oh if someone wants to field a gorkanaut as a looted wagon i'm fine with that, bigger target for a squishy statline. It will have the stats of a looted wagon lol. Ive seen people use looted wagons as an excuse to field this ridiculously huge kitbash that doesnt even fit any apoc unit rules.

Which is why i really, really was hoping looted wagons would turn into Build A Tank Workshop where it has no base cost but you buy many upgrades, with some types of an upgrade being mandatory, but many options in said type/catagory. Even if it got crazy expensive i would love to field a supa tank with way too many guns with orky bad luck involved lol.

Aww man, that sounds like such an awesome idea. I'm now imagining a whole page of options... Paying for higher armor values and more guns and whatnot... I think I'm drooling!

Just imagine an orky land raider, AV14 all around and guns upon guns upon guns and multiple deff rollaz.... Definitely drooling now.

Why didn't you write the ork codex, again?

Orks don't have bad luck. Orks only have good luck. If an ork dies because of some dodge mek issues that might be bad luck for that ork, but good luck for the rest that get to see him die in a horrible noisy bang.

Where's that thatsthejoke.jpg when you need it...

Of course it's stupid and obviously, there should be either a single looted wagon or maybe a vehicle squad option, not the naut. What irks me, is that those lazy sloths don't even bother to check all fields when they just copypaste page design from an earlier WD issue. There are newspapers that are printed regularly with no errors, GW can't even get the codices straight, much less the WDW, which is a shame, since a single intern could do the job.

I was just thinking about this: we previously could take 6 mobs of 30 boyz = 180 boyz...and the new Ork FOC allows us to take 9 mobs, does anyone else wonder if our max mob size may be reduced to 20 boys? 9 x 20 = 180, still same # of boys, just a different configuration. Anyone else considered this possibility?

I sincerely doubt this, they want us to buy more models. I'm thinking that the Boyz are going down in points if anything, to field more of them.

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

I have/had textbooks with spelling and grammar errors as well as both DoD and DA manuals and pamplets that were full of errors. Not to mention more novels than I can count.

Frankly if I can't trust professional publishing companies, much less the US Government to put out information that is true, correct and has been checked, should I really get stressed when GW goofs?

I hope you are correct. That would really help make Orks a horde army. I loved the other day when I could drop 60 Boyz down for a 500pt practice game. It made me chuckle.

If you have an ard case the passengers can shoot out of either side or the rear. No shooting to the front of the vehicle. Interesting.

I'm also hopeful they allow Nobz to take a Truk. I have one I've been holding off building, but it would be perfect for my command squad [PK Warboss, Painboy, 8Choppa Nobz, Waagh! Banner PK Nob, KFF Mek] (unless that changes, too)

I have it on good authority that we still get 30 strong mobs, and orks went down a point. im 99% certain this will turn out to be accurate.

I think shootas may now be a point to buy though, though on that particular rumour, im not 100%

If that's all correct, my 30 Shoota Boyz mobs will be the same points, -1 / Boy, +1/Shoota, I'm good with that. Overall point drop is kinda wishful thinking.

would be interesting if boyz got the same option my firewarriors have - any number of them can change their gun, not the entire unit. I'd like to have ~15 shootas in front of 15 sluggachoppa since thats about how many boyz i lose before they get into combat unless its the one unit that got focused harder. Better shootin' on da way, better krumpin' wen we dere!

That would be awesome, I just hope its not at the sacrifice of the statline. If they could leave boys mobs the exact way they are now, but make them 5pts each or something I'd be so happy.

A basic ork is a 5 point model when you consider other models and the reduced effectiveness of models charging into combat, especially models with no real armor save and only I2.

Painted armies:

Orks: 11000 points
Marines: 9500 points
Khorne Marines: 2500 points
Khorne Demons: 1500 points

yeah.. they will almost certainly drop a basic ork to 5 pts... grots will go down a pt too i think.

they dropped conscripts likewize, and I saw that one happening too....

makes sense rules wize, and GW gets to sell more models, so very probable I think.

The only thing im not to sure about is the pts change to ard boys or how they will be handled, guard got a HUGE drop in the cost of putting carapace armour on, so hopefully orks do as well

Sadly if the Mek Gunz are any indication, grots will stay at 3pts.
