Eldar get a +2S AP4 Two-handed Melee weapon for 5 points.
Orks get a +2S AP5 Two-handed Melee weapon for 5 points. That pretty much sums up the codex leaks so far.

Stormboys got a cost reduction, but WOW did they get nerfed. Massive self inflicted casualties, not to mention you can no longer charge after using the extra D6 as you will count as having run.

I have a feeling the same people at GW who thought SM Chaplains were overpowered got stomped by an Ork player. Did anyone think Killa Kans were game-breaking?

You can also see the same vein of changes. Red Paint Job was changed to give +1 for flat out (in shooting phase, instead of shooting) instead of during the movement phase. Exhaust Cloud had it's always-on cover removed and now give +1 cover when turbo-boosting (in the shooting phase, instead of shooting, and prevents charging), and Stormboy's Rokkit Packs were changed to give +D6" when running (in the shooting phase, instead of shooting, and prevents charging) from being +D6" in the movement phase.

1.) Bikes got cheaper.

2.) After what I've spent on this game, I don't sweat the price of a Dataslate.

3.) Kult of Speed was originally in the Armegedon Codex, and not the Ork Codex, so I don't see this situation as anything different.

4.) A Kult of Speed Datalslate will be more material for me to read and enjoy, instead of a line in the Ork codex saying I can play my FA choices as troops if I play a specific HQ.

im seriously debating not even getting this codex. I'll admit orks are not suppose to be a competitive army, you play them to have fun more than win. But theres a defined line between competitive and playable. New orks seriously strike me as even less playable in the current meta than before, and they were already suffering. Barring some really insane 5+ luck, i rarely lasted a whole game with my orks except against tyranids (old or new dex).

Yeah, you do that, I'll go crush some heads with my 2+ rerollable KFF mek, his painboy buddy and their fellow 30 ork boyz while my warbos and his nob bikers enjoy their 3+ cover save

Pretty much what it did before, you get to charge and run. It's on warbosses now though, so no warboss, no Waaagh!.

So we really are getting 5th ed fleet back? If this is true then thats a very good thing. Move, run, assault

Yeah, and 'ere we go lets you reroll one charge dice. That said, it might be worthwhile to ignore the orkish warlord table and roll on the command traits from the book. Getting 2" movement on your Waaagh! isn't shabby and the other results are pretty nice as well.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Actually he lost 1 attack on the charge.

Otherwise unchanged, according to a certain ork drunk on cider

The bike changes just make me look forward to the inevitable Kult of Speed Dataslate

Fingers crossed on that Sir.

I think I understand you point of view Orock.

The reason that I liked and commented on adamsouza reference to Kult of Speed is quite simple for me: I'd prefer to spend my WH40k budget on previously mentioned dataslate/supplement more than on Morka or Gorkanaut which don't fit my army very well.

And to be honest, equivalent of a pint or two is not that much, comparing to what we all spent on GW stuff.

Agreed, I think overall we got better it just feels like we got cheated because alot of our favorite units didnt get buffed like everyone was hoping. Plus we lost some rules and characters when everyone else got new rules and characters. I think once the dex hits the table people will change their minds about it

All orks apearantly, it has been confirmed on Zagstruk, no idea about bikes and stormboyz...

Holy crap, I just realized that battlewagons have become bonkers to assault from...
1. Get Warboss
2. Get additional Warlord trait relic
3. Get boarding planks
4. Paint battlewagon red
5. Try to roll Master of the Vanguard warlord trait, reroll if necessary

Drive 19" first turn. Second turn, move 6", disembark 6", run d6+1", charge 2d6+3", reroll one dice. Say hi to an average 46" reach in turn 2.

Right, home with a pint of cider in me, and several more in the fridge...

Weirdboys gain a Warp Charge point if there are 10 or more models with the 'ere we go rule (Pretty much any Ork from what I've seen) in 12" but has to take a psychic save or take a hit.
Power of the Waaagh! and Daemonlogy disciplines.
Can be upgraded to Psyker level 2.

Primaris power is Frazzle (Blast witchfire).
'Eadbanger is now a focussed witchfire.
Warpath is a self blessing
Da jump is what used to be 'ere we go.
Killbolt is a beam attack.
Power vomit (Yes really) is a template witchfire.
Da Krunch is a barrage witchfire.

What the frell... So BS2 models have 3/7 powers as Roll-to-Hit witchfires. Seriously? They better have frelling amazing statlines to make the Ork powers worth taking. Hell, to make WEIRDBOYZ worth taking. Ugh...just ugh. And still can't even take Pyromancy. Fan-frelling-tastic. AND they have a chance to hurt themselves, just by generating warp tokens? Pft... I guess we can see why there's no new Weirdboy model; they knew it wouldn't sell for gak.

That's NazGREK. I don't normally say this...but that is not a very well painted model by the 'Eavy Metal team.

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

He is listed as Lord of War choice. Taking him does not use a HQ slot, your opponent gets +1 to seize and taking wounds off him grants victory points. That's all there is to it.

We also need to know what cybork body does now. 5++, 6+ FNP, both? That wasn't clarified.
