7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.

What's this "D6 Roll" that's replaced Mob Rule? I assume it's the one given in the rumours on the first page but what actually is it? I.e. when do you take it and for what? I'm assuming for all units whenever they take a Morale/Pinning Check, instead of rolling normally? Am I right?

Stormboys got a cost reduction, but WOW did they get nerfed. Massive self inflicted casualties, not to mention you can no longer charge after using the extra D6 as you will count as having run.

I have a feeling the same people at GW who thought SM Chaplains were overpowered got stomped by an Ork player. Did anyone think Killa Kans were game-breaking?

You can also see the same vein of changes. Red Paint Job was changed to give +1 for flat out (in shooting phase, instead of shooting) instead of during the movement phase. Exhaust Cloud had it's always-on cover removed and now give +1 cover when turbo-boosting (in the shooting phase, instead of shooting, and prevents charging), and Stormboy's Rokkit Packs were changed to give +D6" when running (in the shooting phase, instead of shooting, and prevents charging) from being +D6" in the movement phase.

Rokket Packs still make them Jump infantry right? So they get the 12" movement normally, and the extra d6 run at expense of wounds is a choice.

Nope, you only roll on the d6 chart after failing a moral check. Depending on how many orks are around, if you have character in the unit and if you are in combat, you might get another chance at passing the test in exchange for the boyz killing each other.

This one is new:

Oh, Weirboyz get their own CCW, Weirdboy staff basically a Force weapon Big Choppa.

Remember they can still roll from two other tables, one of which containers hammerhand, and the 4++ invuln.

But still might kill themselves just be generating warp tokens. Weirdboyz were bad last codex, as they suffered from an almost complete lack of options ('eadbanger was their one option); they actively got WORSE in this book.

There are just too many issues that didnt get addressed that make me doubt that orks will move anywhere from where they are. After having waited this long for an update, this is beyond disappointing.

It seems Nob Bikers took it on the chin.

-Can no longer be troops
-No Cybork Body
-No 4+ cover from Exhaust Cloud
-Painboy has to come from the HQ slot, possible cost increase (need to know), but maybe he can take a PK like the dreadmob Painboss (also need to know)
-Bikes got more expensive to offset the cheaper base cost for nobs. Farseers get eldar jetbikes for super cheap, SM chapter masters get bikes for 20 points, Nobs get bikes for what? 30 points each now?

I actually didn't run nob bikers before, but this seems rather unreasonable.

It's mean that he can use Force and give, for example, to unit a nobs an instant death?

They get 4+ jink though, which is boosted to 3+ by turbo-boosting. Maths out to the same as 5+ FNP and 4+ cover.

Except they lose shooting accuracy when they jink for the 4+, so there's still a net loss.

Nope. The force spell only has an affect on force weapons. He does have to use his limited warp charges to try and activate it though. It's probably a force staff. (+2S AP4, Force, Concussive) but perhaps without concussive.

It's a force weapon. It works the same as every force weapon in the game minus Silver Marines.

Yea it is, it seems as though they just moved some stuff around, changed some rules that now reduce the powerfulness of the army which wasnt too powerful to begin with. This may turn out to just be a flop, who wants more shooting things when all we want is more chop things. Unfortunately 7th edition like 6th is more about shooting and ignoring cover.

I don't consider getting something that costed 30 points previously for free a net loss. You also aren't exactly losing much in terms of shooting, a little more than half a hit per biker.

I like shooty Orks and Tanks, so I'm personally liking a lot of these changes. Trukkboyz are going to be fun.

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Wow... so erm, totally underwhelmed.

In the power shift and editions that have passed, in what way ever did anything in the previous book require taking a hit? I'm reading across the board nerfs and restrictions.

They took a 7 year old book and toned it down?!?!?!?!?!

I am boggled.

And highly disappointed... Wait, what am I saying, no I'm not, I'm just experiencing my developed sense of pessimism with GW being reaffirmed.

It also isn't the same as 5+FNP and 4+ cover when you factor in Ignores Cover weapons though. It's not a massive nerf, but added in to the multitude of other disappointing facets so far revealed, and well..

Edit: not to mention losing the ability to be Troops (and thus get Objective Secured...)

I used to beat the 7 shades out of MEQ armies in 5th.

And any army book should be designed with the intention of giving the players, the customers, a balanced chance of winning games. I don't show up with my orks to provide some marine player with an amusing win. I'm not an NPC.

I don't exactly see the sky falling though. Not yet
There still is a ton of unknown stuff, we don't know the options for the additional mek you can buy yet. The relic allowing you to reroll up to three saves might very well be our own 2+ rerollable cheese and putting three painboyz in maximum boyz mobs while having Thrakka lead from the LoW slot is going to cause trouble for people. Also note that you can now field up to twelve trukks in a single FoC and mobs of 30 storm boyz is nothing eldar players want to have around their funky space boats.

While the current armies might not work anymore, I see plenty potential for new ones, even without tossing major amounts of cash towards GW.

And if it's falling, it's probably those damn marines in their drop pods who need a good clobbering.

Yeah, but it doesn't do anything unless the unit has weapons with the force special rule, which nobz don't.
