Seeing this makes me wonder why Chaos doesn't have access to Knights... If anything, your relatively simple (but highly effective) conversions make the Knight look better as a Chaos war machine than an Imperial one.

I'm not sure, but you've found it now! Thanks for the kind words! Appreciate it, and will do my best to keep doing the Chaos Knight justice!

I can't really tell from your pictures, but based on your experience with this model, how much effort would be involved in mounting the cannon in that gap between the shoulders, so that the barrel comes out over the head?

Is the back plate a necessity? How does the back look without it?

I'm not sure, I'm guessing it'd be a fair amount of effort since it's not really made to end up there, but it is made to sit below it. I'm sure you could do it though with the proper chopping of the shoulder piece
and I honestly can't remember if the back plate was it's own piece or not, but if it wasnt there it'd be an open gap so it'd definitely need something there anyways.

Anyways a nice fair sized update incoming! enjoy and C&C appreciated! (also i did the shield before the top carapace, I'll be adding a little more lightning to it to make it blend a little better!)

@ chaos incarnate, there is a hatch that can be left off to have a cannon home out, as in this

It turned out quite well, I'm hoping the rest does as well! Any places you could recommend improvement or ways i could do something different? Just checked out your gallery and amazing work you've done!

And for sure, Steve is good at what he does and I can't wait to get the finished pieces all painted up

The only thing I might suggest is to look at the details in the "black" part of the gun and pick them out in something other than your main colors. You don't want to detract from your main scheme... but sometimes a flash of some other color can really make a model stand out.

Really great stuff! The GS detailing is extremely impressive. The only thing I'm not fond of is the spikes on the chainsword. While I do think that spikes are a necessity to make it Chaos-y, those spikes in-particular look somewhat out of place.

I agree! I hope I can do it justice painted. We haven't yet decided on a place for the dreadnought, at this point we're just hoping I'll be able to fit it on in general without it looking too "in the way", unfortunately he doesn't have my knight model itself do he can't judge it precisely himself. So we shall see

He definitely is a beast with the greenstuff! He sculpted my Konrad Curze model from nothing (from Den of Imagination, of ya wanna check it out!) and it's just insane. Personally I like the way they look, matter of opinion though and you're full entitled to yours we'll see how it looks with the whole finished model all assembled anyways before I do any modifying!

Painting up the cannon arm tonight during my night shift.. Woot lol.
