A few words in memory of Marbo:

Never before has so many people pronounced such a simple name incorrectly (so many people call him mabro its painful). Never before has so many people had conversions for just one unit. Never before has a unit that is not an ork been so comical to use.

He will be missed.

Had a Marbo in my silly IG army I ran yonks ago.
Went by the name of naked Dave.
I don't have a picture of him unfortunately but he blew up more of my own troops than my opponents. We ended up making a houserule that let both sides target him as an enemy.
You know, 'cos friendly fire is fun!

How many Marbo Variants have not killed a handful of men on their own side!

Its sad to know the Marbo related stories are now a thing of the past indeed.

I'll be honest, friendly fire was a reasonably regular occurance in my army... armies...

I used to use a "Demolition man" for the last chancers in my Valhallan army, he will badly missed...i see him coming in a dataslate still...

My IG backstory is that they are the remains of two units, one from Armageddon in gas masks and trenchcoats, one Cadian in full camo gear, thrown together on an ice world where no one is properly adapted.

Except Marbo, who is the only model I've done in snow camo, looking totally at home in the environment. Because Marbo. I'm very sorry to lose him.

He'll be getting a dataslate. GW still has Marbo models in stock if for no other reason

I'm fully expecting a series of dataslates for different IG regiments with all the special characters that have been removed.

It wouldnt surprise me if he gets a data slate. But for now he is officially dead.

I've no doubt that GW will try to squeeze more money out of Imperial Guard players by releasing all the units that used to be in the Codex as dataslates.

I don't have an Imperial Guard army, but I do have a Marbo model.

It makes perfect sense to me that Marbo isn't in the Codex - after all, no other Codexes have Lords of War built in...

Marbo is still in the codex, he is just hiding and waiting for his chance to chuck a demo charge wherever he pleases. Have you checked inside your CRASSUS ARMOURED ASSAULT TRANSPORTS yet? He might be in one of those

Everyone just continue to play Marbo with the old entry until the eventual Catachan dataslate/suppliment arrives. I doubt people would refuse Marbo to continue his fight.

I was actually planning on telling my IG friend that he is allowed to use the IG entry for Marbo. He is just fun. Why would I not want fun in my games?

The fact that this thread is necessary makes me sad, he will be missed until a data slate is released.

I really really want to see him back. You'd just have to do a couple things to make him awesome:

1. make him immune to interceptor. It made me so sad the first time I played against him after my new codex came out.

2. Make the demo pack scatter 1d6 inches instead of 2d6. As amusing as it is for him to blow himself up, I feel like it's really not a great outcome.

I heard the inquisition once bought a box labelled "planet killer", when they opened it they found Marbo inside.

He is actually hiding in the current codex. You need to lok really hard at the elites section, don't blink and don't turn around when you feel a knife press against your back.
