Continuing with my tradition of doing these threads. I will be on for a few hours answering questions and posting up a overview of the book. keep checking the first post for updates.

Warlord traits (tank commanders roll a D3 and can only get the first 3)
1: D3 units get outflank
2: Preferred enemy chosen against one codex before deploying infiltrators
3: IG units within 12" do not test for morale if they lose 25% or more
4: Warlord and unit of relentless
5: Warlord can issue orders, or if already could his range is increased to 18"
6: Warlord can issue orders, or if already could gains an additional order

Heavy weapon teams
-In case you didn't know it counts as one model that can only fire 1 weapon and counts as bulky.

Voice of Command (orders)
-Work the same as before including the double 1s and 6s business

Take aim: unit must make a shooting attack. when resolving the unit as the precision shot rule.
Smite at will: Must make a shooting attack unit gain split fire.
First rank fire second rank fire: addition lasgun or hot shot lasgun shot
Forwards for the emperor: After the unit shoots it must run
Move! Move! Move!: Unit must run and rolls 3D6 and picks highest
Suppressive fire: Unit must make a shooting attack, attacks have the pinning special rule

Senoir officer orders:
Bring it down: Unit must make a shooting attack and gains tank or monster hunter
Fire on my target: Unit must make a shooting attack and gains ignores cover (See you later wave serpent spam)
Get back in the fight: Can only be used on a unit falling back on that has gone to ground, it immediately regroups and acts normally ( I read it as it cancels out the unit only being able to snap fire)

Company Command squads:
- pretty much exactly the same, all the weapon options are in the wargear section now and all the points are identical as now,

Regimental advisors:
-MoO is the same
- OotF gives you a +1 to reserves and a -1 to enemy reserves, but always gets them on a 6 regardless, which is weird since that's not a thing (yet)
- Astropath is Master Level 1 ld7 and generates powers from telepathy.

Tank Commander
- Cant join other units or squadrons even if the rest of his tanks are dead.

Tank orders, you roll 2D6 on a 9 or less they pass. Doesn't seem to follow the normal rules for orders
Full throttle: Immediately moves flat out D6 + 6"
Gunners, kill on sight: Commander fires first then the other tanks in squad MUST fire at a different target
Strike and shroud: After the shooting attack has been resolved, all vehicles in the unit that have not already done so must use their smoke launchers.

Commissars and lords:
- Summary execution can be used for failed fear, pinning, or morale tests. 1-2 your opponent picks, 3+ you pick, no saves of any kind and must be IG (so no capping the inquisitor) and then the test is considered passed.

Regimental specialists
- Priests have zealot and war hymns, these are going to make for some dirty combos, 0-3 per detachment. Much cheaper
- Primaris psykers Ld9 and can choose biomancy, divination, pyromancy and telekinesis can be made a level 2 for 25pts, still have "For your own good" rule, 20pts cheaper.
- Enginseers, still the same, cheaper. He did gain a cool ability that if he forgoes shooting a vehicle within 12" has power of the machine spirit.

Infantry platoons.
- Infantry squads can still combine
- Heavy and special weapon squads are cheaper
- Conscripts are 3pts

Vets
- keep their 3 weapon option as long as you don't take a heavy flamer, got cheaper
- Harker is there, still relentless, and his heavy bolter is rending.

Chimeras
- comes with searchlights and smoke launchers, still amphibious, can still cast orders from it. Did go up to 65pts
- got lasgun arrays on the side (Im still not modeling them) and only 2 fire points now.

Tauroxes
- You should know everything about these by now.

Storm troopers
- can have platoons if you really want to take them. Cheaper then before

Wyrdvane psykers
- Ld8 can choose biomancy, divination, pyromancy and telekinesis
- brotherhood of psykers

Ratlings
- can shoot and run in the same phase, still have infiltrate and stealth

Ogryn
- Ripper gun is still the same. Added hammer of wrath

Bullgyrn
- Slabshields add +1 to the armour save if the models are in base contact with each other, and units obscured by them get +1 to their cover saves (regardless of being in base), So have your tanks behind an aegis and these guys and camo nets for 2+ cover saves.

Sentinels
- scout stayed the same, armoured got cheaper

Hellhound squadron
- Devil dog went up in points, despite me being the only person to ever take them.

Valkyrie
- went up 5points for the multiple missile pod version, lascannon dropped by 5pts, still has 12 model capacity. Grav chute is now anytime the model moves over 6" if you scatter its dangerous terrain checks.

Vendetta
- 170pts, 6 capacity

Rough riders
- the exact same, outfank would have been nice.

Hydra
- 5pts less, but open topped, no interceptor. Can still take squadrons

Wyvern
- Can take squadrons, has 2 twin linked stormshard mortars. Tange 48" S4 ap6 heavy 2 barrage blast shred ignores cover, 65pts.

Basilisk
- the same as its been since the dawn of time

Manticores
- Each missile counts as a weapon for weapon destroyed results, now 170pts

Deathstrike missiles
- Now just the straight up 10" template, S10 ap1, ignores cover
- Cannot fire first turn, or on any turn its moves, goes off a 4+ now instead of 6, gets +1 for each turn it didn't move, and -1 for each weapon destroyed result, stunned and shaken have no effect.

Russes:
Standard - 150
Exterminator - 130
Vanquisher - 135
Eradicator - 120
Demolisher - 170
Punisher - 140
Executioner - 155

Lascannons now 10pts, all come with searchlights and smoke launchers. Sponsons are heavy flamers 10pts, heavy bolters 20pts, multi meltas 20pts, plasma cannons 30pts.

Yarrick
- is cheaper 145pts
- has the "No morale checks from 25% or more" trait
- Iron will is the same
- lost 6" off his aura of stubborn
- bale eye isn't a bonus attack in combat anymore, can be fire in addition to another weapon, is a range 6" hot shot laspistol.
- Power field is now a 4++

Relics
The tactical auto reliquary of tyberius (say that 3 times fast) 25pts
- Any successful Ld test for orders that is a double counts for inspired tactics, double 1s shut it down for the rest of the game.

The laurels of command 25pts
- when friendly IG units within 6" of the bearer need to make a morale test they can choose to pass or fail, if the bearer dies, all friendly IG units have to make a pinning test.

Kurovs Aquila 60pts
- all units within 6" have preferred enemy, and the bearer can reroll a single failed Ld test per turn.

The blade of conquest 25pts
-S+1 ap3 melee master crafted

The emperors benediction 5pts
- range 12" s5 ap4 pistol, precision shot, master crafted

The deathmask of Ollanius 30pts
- Bearer gains a 4++, it will not die, and fear.

Starts at 150pts comes with heavy bolter, searchlight and smoke launchers. You can take squadrons as HQ choices if you have the tank commanders.

How are Primaris Psykers costed/handled?

Are the grav chute insertion rules still the same, apart from changing when it applies to account for flyer rules?

Can your army be led by a regular Commissar, or is he one of those HQs that doesn't count?

Commissars cant dual wield, they can only replace their bolt pistol with a boltgun or plasma pistol. You'd have to take the relic pistol to get the dual wielding on everyone else.

If the Valkyrie or vendetta moves more then 6" is when it kicks in, basically pick a point and then deepstrike them, if they scatter they all take a dangerous terrain test.

Well you can have one commissar for every company command or platoon command squad in the army and don't take up an HQ slot.

Pretty much the same as before 5pts more expensive after the typical upgrades, but still has its full transport ability.

Special weapon teams are still in and cheaper.

SWT are 6 guardsmen (matching the Vendetta transport capacity, right?) I can see a lot of people bringing platoons, lots of conscripts, some priests, and Vendettas with SWTs in them if they got cheaper...

Yup, 0-3 special weapon teams can be taken per platoon, and each can choose 3 special weapons. They used to be 35 now they are 30pts.

Gunners, kill on sight: Commander fires first then the other tanks in squad MUST fire at a different target


This is huge, makes it worthwhile to take squadrons, even mixed squadrons.

Strike and shroud: After the shooting attack has been resolved, all vehicles in the unit that have not already done so must use their smoke launchers.


Also huge, used properly, you can use the smoke launchered vehicle as a bullet soak to protect the other tanks in a squadron from damage.

As much as I want to see it this way. I have have to disagree. It's worded exactly the same in the Space Marine codex ranged weapons section, except it says can replace his pistol and/or ccw. Oh well. I liked it while it lasted.

2 pts/model each now for the whole squad, thought you also can get only the Commander with carapce if you would like, and that's more costy- sadly I don't recall the amount on the top of my head..

Pricy, but I can see this working in some lists...

I'd like to run COL Schaeffers Last Chancers as close to the fluff as possible. Schaeffer's specialists are as follows: a missile launcher girl, a heavy bolter gunner (Harker?), a melta-gunner, a sniper, and a demolitions expert. COL Schaffer will be company/regimental commander.

Will the vet squad be the way to go?

I'd like to know more about the Psyker units, I understand there's a squad now? Does a Primaris take up a FOC? Etc.. etc..

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

Veteran squad with Harker, sniper, missile launcher, melta, demo doctrine, vox (you forgot Brains!), Schaffer himself is best done with a Lord Commissar, carapace, plasma pistol and power sword.
