I just bought a Stompa for league escalation games. Going to load it up with LootaMeks. Was thinking of adding a KFF BM inside. Or just put it on the LP.

Would it be a jerk move or totally inline with Ork philosophy?

Thanks

Can you model the Stompa to ride the Landing Pad with a giant pogostick handle attatched to it and spring coils on the bottom?

That'd be Orky.

That's what I did during my last Apoc game. Took everything all game long and survived. I got the strategem that allows you to return full HP and waited until the other side got me down to my last couple of hull points, popped the strategem and went right back up to 12.

Well, he said Apocalypse so I'm guessing the wonkiness is to be expected with that sort of format. Of course then he was possibly dealing with titans and such.

Having to go up against that sort of thing in an escalation game...I don't know if it would be all that enjoyable.

If other people are bringing super heavies and D-weapons, I'd have no problems bringing a Stompa with a fully loaded crew.

not sure if apocalypse has a limit for fortifications, but if you can take multiple skyshields, let me just put two words down:

Dont want to ruin the party, but can you even FIT a stompa on a landing pad when the walls are up?

Looks like it would be close, but I think you can do it.

If it doesn't fit, give the Stompa platform shoes, then it can really strut it's stuff on the catwalk.

I've assembled the feet and arms so far. It should fit with space for some grits to spare!

Of course, there's always room for grots!

I confess that when I wrote my previous post I was saying grots grots grots ala "shots shots shots" even though I completely detest that song!!

I can get behind the Kanye song to some degree, not my favorite dude, but that song with Jay Z was pretty good.

That "shots shots shots" business though, i can't get behind that one lol

Same old deal, if you're gaming group is "fun" (define that yourself) do it, I think its actually hilarious as an idea.
If not, well, probably best to at least give them a heads up they'll be facing it.....

Huh,

I thought the stompa was bigger then that...
Or maybe I just underestimated the size of the landing pad...

A stomp on a pair of sky shields, which are wired to play "I'm Too Sexy" would be awesome. Need to model a warboss pulling off his shirt.

I do believe so. I walked one up on top of a landing pad during an Apoc game once ("Tanksgiving"... we literally covered the entire table in vehicles by the time it was done). He stayed up there pretty well.

And the landing pad is actually a pretty good size. The local GW store has one that we typically toss in the middle of the table and use as a dominant piece of middle terrain. You can fit Rhinos under it and multiple squads on top of it, it's definitely got some size. As does the Stompa... my poor Knight feels a bit small in comparison.

Debuted the Stompa last night with a 2v2 game against Locclo.

We were able to seize and it performed great against a parking lot of 3 Wave Serpents, two Fire Prisms, and a Seer Council on bikes. Later on the Stompa charged 3 Seers who had moved to assault my ally's Devastators.

The Stompa easily fit on the pad, with 30 Boyz behind it. I could have gotten a squad of grots on either side as well.

It took a single glance from CC. The opp's didn't even bother shooting it, pad may be unnecessary.

Also, was fun as hell! Wonderful revenge game against TauDar.

The Skyshield doesn't do much to help the stompa. It's already practically immune to everything except Destroyer weapons once you've got enough meks in it and keeping it in one place prevents you from using it's close combat abilities.

Void Shield Generators are the way to go with stompas.

Is it? I've one-shotted superheavy tanks more then once with my crisis teams.
Meks don't help you if you blow up.

He had a 4 Crisis suit squad with the good Tau leader, don't know his name, who didn't come in until turn 4.

I also ran 10 Nob Bikerz with Boss who was in their DZ turn 2.

Nah man, void shields are crap for superheavies. The reason is that you can't bubble wrap, because if you do that you get that nonsense of one pie plate causing like 10 hits on your Voids and breaking them all.

And if you can't bubble wrap, you can't protect yourself from melta drops and such

cant...stop...laughing.....lol....

i think if i saw someone model that and made it look believable i'd let them carry that 4++ around even though they shouldnt be allowed to lol.

On topic: Apoc is described by my friends that are huge into it (more than normal 40k by a ridiculous amount) as "taking turns knee-jerking the other player's balls" - meaning bring whatever sounds overpowered and insane because your opponent WILL do the same if its a real apoc game, and take turns removing big important things lol

Just be cognizant that your Eldar opponents can pull out a Revenant on their own Skyshield and you lose your Stompa pretty quick. I assume they knew you were bringing a LoW?

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.
