From the Imperial Knight release, you guys might remember there was a lot of discussion about how tall the Imperial Knight actually was.

The GW site said it was 8" tall, while people who were building the model declared it only measured to 6". GW must have noticed this error in the description at some point and did correct it to 6".

However, it seems with the advent of the new website I recently noticed the knight has grown back to its old stature!

http://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Imperial-Knight

Description
Fealty, Honour and Duty.

At 8 inches tall the Imperial Knight is a towering war engine. Crafted in the Dark Age of Technology and resplendent with gothic details it presents a unique silhouette both in a display cabinet and on the battlefield. Fighting alongside armies of the Imperium, most Imperial Knights are affiliated with either a Knightly House and the Adeptus Mechanicus. Some Imperial Knights choose to forsake all ties to a noble house. Known as Freeblades, they are masters of their own destiny.

I thought this was funny and worth sharing.

Some Imperial Knights are larger than others...

They should be required to correct the error. For a lot of people a model's size is a large determinant of its value. Adding a big chunk of size knowing it's inaccurate to the description is willfully dishonest

Look we all know americans cant measure things like sane people, move over to the metric system already its much simpler and easier to understand, which would be a bonus given your education system.

So they can lie about the Knight's height in centimeters? No thank you, comrade! Go back to Poland where you belong!

Xenophobic... this from a country that for over 200 hundred years sought to make everything on the planet "British"...

Probably work

For what it's worth, Space Marines in the fluff are 2 feet taller than everyone thinks they are. They're actually 10 feet, according to GW.

You dont want to go down the historical route given how america treated Asian americans in WW2, how they committed genocide against the native american, the shocking treatment of Africans kidnapped from their homelands and forced to work as slaves, or segregation in the south.

Right, so let's get off that topic and onto things related to 40k, namely the misrepresentation of the size of the Knight.

EDIT: Now, GW writes all of the rules in standard measurements, and they also corrected the error of 6" before. So I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing.

Maybe they are using Citadel FineMeasurements? Where their inches are ~1.33 of our inches?

Maybe the new edition has a different and GW trademarked unit of measurement that also happens to be called inches

Maybe they are Great British Inches and not American inches, trying to compensate or something

If you dont short hand your list, Im not reading it.
Example: Assault Intercessors- x5 -Thunder hammer and plasma pistol on sgt.
or Assault Terminators 3xTH/SS, 2xLCs

No, they do not. So perhaps maybe people shouldn't jump to call Americans "xenophobic" given that WW1 and WW2 were largely about Europeans hating each other (and no one in Europe would have cared if Hitler exterminated the Jews so long as he stayed in the lines they gave Germany for "borders"; they created Israel just to get rid of the Jews and hoped the Arabs would kill them); England during WW2 was trying to still control a number of countries; the whole Africans thing started with Brits (hence why it's British and French colonies scattered through Africa); etc.; etc.; etc.

So, yeah. It's like the pot calling the kettle black, only a bit worse. America got its bad tendencies from its roots. You know, all those European nations that came over here, declared this land to be theirs, and started taking it in the first place?

But yes, that's all in the past.

Right now, Americans as a whole are pretty tolerant people. Sure, there's always loudmouths on TV, just like there are everywhere. I work with a very diverse group of people, I go to church with a diverse group of people, I game with people of different ethnicity and religion, and none of us have a problem with each other. I am getting so sick of other nations who are at least as intolerant with their populace jumping up to call Americans "racist" or "xenophobes" or whatever.

And hell, while we're at it, do you know how hard it is to find a black Space Marine, aside from the token chapter that was made all-black at one point because apparently only being roasted by fire lizards can excuse skin that isn't pale in the grim darkness of the far future? Black Imperial Guard are almost non-existent, and I swear the Warhammer world doesn't have anyone without pale skin (of the races that, you know, aren't anthropomorphic creatures or Orcs. They barely mention Araby or Cathay or Nippon in the fluff, and they'll never do armies for them.

So, yeah. We're playing a pretty freaking "xenophobic" and racist set of games, and giving money to a company to support them. So maybe we should all shut our hypocritical pie holes and go back to making jokes about why a Knight is two inches shorter than he should be because he's permanently squating and/or bending over.

Eh, there's an entire industry of bras designed for a similar purpose.

And products and surgeries to help members of both genders with such "inadequacies."

Imagine all the lawsuits from women now.

Agies Grimm:The "Learn to play, bro" mentality is mostly just a way for someone to try to shame you by implying that their metaphorical nerd-wiener is bigger than yours. Which, ironically, I think nerds do even more vehemently than jocks.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Oddly enough, posting the wrong height on the model might not turn to many heads "legally". It does however impact the laws of the credit card world. ( Cardbrands Visa MC etc)

There are such things as product not as described disputes which could be triggered by such things. Not saying its right or even that you would win it.. but its known to happen.

EDIT: also come on guys, drop the country comparison crap.

I thought this model disparity would be mildly interesting since it was such a hot-button topic when the Imperial Knight came out, but I didn't mean it to become some sort of "we're better than you!" argument.
