wut?

You don't think he'll be successful in the same mold as Seattle's QB Russel? He's got a better arm/accuracy than Russel.

Ability at college doesn't always translate across. Wilson was also a really humble guy with non of the off field issues
Manziel also had a wide receiver who was 6'5'' and in college DBs aren't as tight on their coverage especially when you're playing against colleges such as UTEP, Southern Methodist and Sam Houston State. When A&M lost to Auburn Evans had 11 of 28 of Manziels completions and over half the yardage (287 out of 454) and all 4 Passing TDs
A comparison through out the season had when:
Manziel was targeting Evan. 79.6% completions, 19.8 Yards/attempt, 9 TDs
Manziel & all other receivers 71.4% completions, 7.8 Yards/attempt, 9 TDs
Source
Quite simply he relies too much on one receiver which he won't get away with at the next level
He'll also either have to spend the next 3 months bulking up or learning not to run around as much because some lineman or linebacker will just destroy him, and RG3 proved you don't even need to get hit to get taken out a game

You know that 7.8 YPA is a very solid number though, right? That would have been 8th in the NFL last season. Which is not to say that it translates to the NFL -- I'm just pointing out that number is very solid overall for a QB. And it's not unusual for your deep-threat WR to have a much larger YPC or YPA when targeted. I don't think those numbers make a case against Manziel at all. There may be other issues, but 71% completions and 7.8 YPA ain't among them.

Agreed... in the SEC division no less.

Personally, I'm not sure about Mike Evans at the next level. I'm still not convinced he runs well enough. He reminds me of Mike Williams when he came out of USC.

Actually, I think he'd be your perfect "redzone receiver". The dude got great hands... when you're 20 yrds away from the EndZone, just lob it up... Evans will get it.

The point of the numbers is to highlight the differences between him targeting Evans and anyone else
College numbers are more often inflated over what NFL counterparts have because they're facing Collegiate level defences which are nowhere near as good as NFL ones, even some of the better NCAA ones like Alabama.

Another point the only QB since Vinny Testaverde to have won a playoff game who was also the Heisman trophy winner is Tim Tebow

Stay on point. It looks like 7.8 still would rank in the top 25%-ish in the NCAA last year...in other words, similar to 8th in the NFL (32 teams). Note that would be Manziel WITHOUT his best deep threat vs. everyone else WITH theirs.

So again, his stats throwing to his other receivers are actually quite good. And most QBs will put up better stats throwing to one dominant WR compared to everyone else. I'll bet you a virtual beer that Matt Stafford's stats look much better throwing to Megatron than everyone else on the Lions combined.

I really don't think those stats mean what you think they mean.

The only player I want the Browns to draft is Ha Ha Dix...

Simply for his name.

I have a feeling that Johnny Football won't be at #4 when the Browns go to pick, and I'm fine with that because I want him to fail so Chuck Booms can eat fething crow.

Browns got a great trade off Buffalo, a 1st & 4th next year as well as 9th overall pick this year
As for Revis Island surely he'll be blanketing Stevie Johnson?

Who do the falcons take here? A tackle? Luwan? Mathews?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Stevie is the only guy who has consistantly torched revis. I doubt they put in on Johnson. My guess is a combination of dennard/mccourty bracketing Johnson. With revis on Watkins.

It shouldn't, but it will. Jerry Jones will make it so

unless someone trades up, the titans are the only team before the boys that could use a QB

I would have said Minnesota but they went with a LB (which they needed) but took Barr over Mosley (Dumb)

And Detroit took Ebron over Dennard??

How do you think I feel... The last bastion of good players is Bernie Kosar, who slurs his speech due to concussions and alcohol... Though the man is fething brilliant when it comes to analyzing football... I'm gonna miss his pre-season coverage :(

Elephant Backer?

Also didn't expect Tennessee to pick Lewan but Michael Roos is 32 so it's a bit of insurance I suppose

My guess is definately the elephant. Line him up outside watt like the 9ers do or the patriots did with mcghinest and Richard Seymour.
