Any chance that you guys might someday tackle the Dark Eden stuff? It would be nice to actually see figures of the Megacorp guys this time around.

Hi there, next faction we are going to work on is Dark Legion - Ilian. Dark Eden as a full faction is really a long shot, however, our creative fan-based team proposed that we could make here and there Dark Eden mini and use them in WZR as advisor, so please stay tuned. Thanks

Thanks for your opinion. Please bear in mind that all Warzone line is done by and with a Fan-Based creative team, meaning that all we have been released so far is proposed/designed and done by fans.

I am convinced, and this is based on my personal opinion as a fan, that Wolfriders fits more to Warzone genre along with dinoriders than they go with wh40k.

Will we be seeing an update on the AvP Kickstarter deliveries before easter? End of March is very close and there still seem to be those of us with no shipping notification.

Please bear in mind that I was a part of that 'Fan-Based creative team' [as I wrote it in my previous post] so I know how it works and know the people there. Also that team should read some Mishima fluff because they are clearly unaware that not all Ashigaru are peasants. BTW Are you aware that you have quoted other dakkanaut and signed as me?

Yes, 'dinoriders' are from 2nd edition. Animals from Dark Eden were mutated Earth animals. Kunshu [another Prodos 'invention' - fire spitting, flying lizards with fish tails] are as stupid as wolves. And why wolves had to be added? Just because there are other mounts [btw there are already Imperial 'wolf mounts' for Wolfbanes - they are called Fenris bikes]? One of that Xzibit jokes comes to mind: Yo dawg, I heard you like wolves, so we put wolves on wolves.

You don't like Prodos. Now it is clear. Why are you still here? Please move along... no, i'll just hit the "ignore" button.

Well, the process has been changed in last year or so, team reduced and a team leader, with a MC long time experience is now in place, that was not a case in the past.

As for Ashigaru here is the fluff:

The feudal system of Mishima is built upon the ambition and martial skill of its Samurai. These fierce warriors will work for a lord within a standing army, or as a leader and manager in the clan’s business dealings; more often both.
However, a curious new form of warrior has taken to the field in more recent times. These are commoners who have been armed by their Lords and sent into battle to support the efforts of the Samurai. They are known as Ashigaru, or ‘light-feet’, a reference as much to their role as to their lack of equipment. As their lords attempt to out-shine each other, they are outfitted in ornate armour, a Shogun assault rifle, and a pair of swords. Despite the appearance, these are for show. The armour and swords are cheaply made and do not afford much in the way of combat effectiveness.
The majority of the Ashigaru in the Solar System are employed by Keiretsu aligned to either Lord Heir Maru across Venus’ many warzones, or Lord Heiress Mariko in her ongoing battle with Capitol in the Freedom Lands and sand rivers of southern Mars. Lord Heir Moya, on the other hand, has a lack of fixed enemies and an abundance of Samurai, and is not known to employ the commoners in battle very often.
Just like the Samurai armies that the Keiretsu keep, the Ashigaru are employed in wildly different fashions. The Ryu-do Clan value training, and teach their Ashigaru to fight with everything except the forbidden secrets of Ki. The Gediggo clan, on the other hand, view service in their Ashigaru hosts as a means of atonement for mistakes for both commoners and Samurai. This means their forces are fanatical but woefully under-equipped. Ashigaru come from all parts of commoner society- male, female, young, old, tall, short… even petty criminals are not turned away when they express a sincere desire to serve. The only people unable to join the Ashigaru are members of the Triads and technicians with skills too valuable to risk.
Ashigaru are employed in most of the roles that Samurai would rather not perform. They crew heavy weapons, perform guard duty, and provide security for flanks and rear areas during a campaign. Despite this, they view their jobs on the battlefield as a great honour and are fanatically committed to both their Lord and their immediate superiors, the Samurai. There have even been a few cases where battlefield glory has led to elevation to the ranks of Samurai.
Ashigaru are usually not left to their own devices, and instead a Samurai is often appointed to lead them. Depending on the task that they are to perform, this Samurai could be anyone in their Lord’s employ- hot-headed but inexperienced nobles, low-ranking Ronin, trusted disciplinarians or those who have committed an offence in their Lord’s presence. In many cases, these Samurai will not speak to the Ashigaru except to issue stern orders, and the Ashigaru are beholden to not speak to the Samurai unless directed to. This results in the Ashigaru following their Samurai like schools of small fish, earning their leaders the derogatory term ‘mother koi’.
There have been grumblings from many traditionalists that these commoner warriors are another step in the decline of the Mishima Megacorporation and the spirit of Bushido, but the Ashigaru give Mishima a powerful new edge. It allows them to mobilise a cheap, disposable source of combat power, and they provide essential fire support as the Samurai seek their opponents at the point of a sword.

Thanks for posting fluff. Few points:
1. I see no reasons why triad members would be excluded from conscription.
2. Swords are samurai weapons and commoners are forbidden to use them so even calling them 'mass produced' makes it not look good. Why couldn't they have shogun yari like in the past? It is a perfect example of change that was not needed.
3. Even your fluff agrees that there is a mistake in rules section. Simply change 'peasants' for 'commoners'.

Quick questions on your questions.
I can see you are very passionate about this and that is good but is there a particular reason that you will not accept the changes that have been made?
As this seems to be a new incarnation of the game, there are obviously things that are going to change, in this case giving Ashigaru swords. As this is a fantasy scenario they aren't beholden to be 100% on the feudal Japanese schtick that is their base.

Secondly, as you mentioned that you are no longer part of the creation process, why is it important that you have a solid say in the current process of world building? (ie "1. I see no reasons why triad members would be excluded from conscription.")

Glory is fleeting. Obscurity is forever.

Reason is simple - MC fluff. I love it and see no reasons to change it. Ashigaru were armed like that in all previous WZ editions [in latest MC rpg they are also armed with shogun yari]. What would really be a reason to change it? Just because it is a new edition? And again with triads - I say it because there is no fluff explanation why a local lord/daimyo would exclude triad members from a conscription. Even simple logic would dictate that he takes every man capable to hold a gun to repel invaders. When I comment about the changes I do this because I love MC fluff and do not want it to be made unrecognizable. I left the team because I could not agreed for such drastic changes like you see now with for example wolves but I never stopped caring about MC.

Maybe they realize that the MC and WZ names aren't as big of a draw as they thought and they thought that some minor changes to the models will help lure others into buying their models. I could see buying some units of these for other rule sets and using them. I'd like to do a necromunda gang with a household of the Ashigaru and just call them gangers with swords. Also back in the timeline when their were samurai and ashigaru the availability of metal and the time it took to churn out a good quality sword made it prohibitive to arm everyone with a katana. In the game timeline they have the resources and need for more fodder, so they give them swords. Soldiers might feel nostalgic about only samurai and honored warriors are given swords, so I'll only join if they give me a sword then I can brag to my friends.

I'm not a huge Prodos fan, especially of some of their sculpts (see other thread for that), but give them a break, they have brought back a game that no one else would touch because it could never gain enough support. THey have seen opportunity in a name and they are breaking new ground. I just wish they would fix their Kickstarter issues, ship people whats owed and move on.

Hello sir,

I wanted to ask a question and make a quick comment related related to the Alien Dropship per-orders that Prodos opened up recently; I read elsewhere that based on public feedback that Prodos might give the model a bit of redesigning to help it better match the UD-4L Dropship from Aliens, if this is so will the reworked version still have the 5% increase in its mass so that it may accommodate the planned APC?

I am currently looking at making a pre-order for the Dropship, and well I do like the design that was posted up for sale, I would prefer to get the original to sit with my marines. The new rivets and bolts added to the fuselage, as well as the increased thickness on the struts gives this iteration of the craft an appearance of being an older model Dropship, or at the very least a model of Dropship that is produced by a different firm from the 'Cheyenne's'. If this Dropship were to be offered in addition to the Aliens Classic UD-4L, I would probably order both, as this one in my opinion would sit nicely with the PMC range of models.

Hi there, no it wont have an extra 5%, we will however redesign wall thickness and they way we are cutting the model in order to get APC in.

There will be an alternative version, with a background story for Mercenaries, but this will come later and I don't want to give out too much info.

Thanks

Thanks for the answer,

Your hint about a mercenary Dropship really sounds really intriguing!

It's interesting to see you opt for a another direction for the marine Dropship's scale, as the approach I normally see done in media where the scale discrepancy issue arises is to uniformly upscale the Dropship to accommodate the APC's mass.

I also wanted to ask if, once you have released your currently announced products and sorted the game's teething issues relating to the Kickstarter, Prodos has any intention of producing models related to Alien Isolation*?

Hello? Is this thing on?
Will there be an update for KS backers soon?
The latest date shift was end of March for all, is this still the case?
Also, could it address the concerns over the poor packing of the extra miniatures not included in the game being crushed?

Not to be a killjoy

If you've had an email from Prodos you could still be in for a wait.

After I had my shipped email from Prodos it wasn't until 4 weeks later that I had an email from the courier company with the tracking number(actually shipped not). I've heard of others waiting longer as well.
