largely regarding army balance or lack thereof. But feel free to make other prophecies such as new models, rules, or armies and the like.

Be as vague or as detailed as you wish, and then come back and quote yourself when you "knew all along" a year from now.

Mine:

7th edition launch to 3 month mark
-Unbound rules are largely ignored/denied by serious players, as are lords of war.
-Daemons move to "top of the top" tier, while most others sit in place. The psychic phase and daemonology prove to be outrageously good.
-Marines get an OP formation that every serious marine player uses, and it helps against all the other armies...EXCEPT for daemons.
-The first couple codices are tier 2-3ish depending on build, and pretty disappointing.

3 months to 6 months
-The first upset appears, when the Necrons get an OP book that also shuts down a lot of daemon abilities.
-BA book comes up, but they screw around with it wildly and ruin it. It has only 1 tier 2ish build.

6 months to end of year
-Everyone except Dark Eldar is either on a 6th or 7th edition codex by now.
-Grey knights do well against daemons, and are only slight underdogs against necrons, making them the new "2rd best book."
-Necrons get a new trick with another new book as an ally, and stay on top.
-SOME army that already had a 6th codex, gets a 7th codex before Dark Eldar get an update.
-8th edition announced.

Everyone except Dark Eldar is either on a 6th or 7th edition codex by now.

Are you assuming Orks get a new Codex before then?

Not gonna lie, I'd be kinda OK with Daemons and GKs being amazing lol. Not sure I see GKs being up there unless there is a massive errata that changes the way quite a few rules like "The Aegis," or really anything to do with psychic powers and LD work. Hammerhand will probably be quite a bit worse because it won't go off as often and may be able to be denied. I'm also interested to see what they do to force weapons.

3 Months out:
- BA get a new codex, making them less terribad, slightly better that DA, all hinging on an awesome new JUMPPACK WITHIN A JUMPPACK unit.

6 Months out:
- New Tyranid codex. Nobody is sure why.

12 Months out:
- New 8th edition 40k is released, which features new rules for boats and gets rid of model point costs to make the game more fun.

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

Well land raiders are air-tight and less dense than water...

I think Daemonology is going to be good, but more for the flexibility it offers than the potential to generate masses of units.

Many people on the internet will declare that the reason daemonology is 'broken' is because it lets you summon more daemons 'for free' and allows 'exponential growth' regardless of facts. Pink Horrors and Tzeentch Heralds will be the new Riptides; decent units which are spammed beyond the point of usefulness by TFG players and have a huge mythology about how overpowered they are.

Codex: Assassins will be released before the end of the year. It will re-use the rules from Codex: Grey Knights and will probably be pretty underwhelming. Future Grey Knights / SoB books will no longer have assassins or inquisitors in them.

Dataslate: Harlequins will be released before the new Dark Eldar. It will have the same rules as the ones in Codex: Eldar, plus a few formations. Future versions of Eldar and DE will not have Harlequins.

By 2016, every codex will have at least two new ECKSBAWKS HUEG oval base dual kit monster/walkers as is fitting for Pacific Rim 40k.

Lesser Daemon of Chaos

-Space Wolves and Blood Angels get new flyers which are basically just airborne land raiders covered in wolf or angel symbols respectively

-Malefac powers can be used for Loyalist armies, GW White Knights insist this now "allows" for Renegade Marine Armies we've all been asking for

-Space Marines get 3 new supplement Codex for Ultramarines, Black Templars, and White Scars

-Unbound lists become the norm

-Codex Chaos Legions along with new cultist and chosen plastic kits will be rumored but never actually released

-Plastic Thunderhawk 500 euros, limited to 100 boxes, sells out within 5 minutes, due to clerical error 1000 customers are promised models

-Necrons get a new Riptide Size unit

-GW rumors of 8th edition are heard this time next year, biggest speculated change is the new "Dogs of War" rule allowing any army to field any unit from any codex as long as they pay an extra 50pts (for balance)

-About half way through 7th edition's lifespan, CSM get a new codex, due to GW deciding to release a new codex every month (Except SoB and Orks). The CSM codex turns out to be utterly worthless, and nerfs the heldrake to a 45* firing arc.

-Every new codex contains a section outlining why the Spehss Muhreens are better than them. The new SM codex has a section by Ward about UM superiority.

-GW makes a new Apoc book, with incredibly super-duper-awesome units for the IOM that cost >£40,000 each, and the xenos units that are terribad, and cost twice as much (in both points and money).

-Shortly after GW releases 8th edition, GW collapses.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
-Every bnew codex gets a dedicated anti-daemon unit, including CSM and Daemons.

First half of the year some flavor of new imperial death start will pop out because of BBBFF. maybe a chaos one as well.

The unbalance of the new edition will cause earths rotation to shift so greatly that the earth will be on a uncorrectable path towards the sun in 20 years.

Still less painful than some of GW's decisions in the past few years.

EDIT: And yes, I know I'm rage baiting.

Nah. Space Wolves are going to get a giant wolf that has wings (the feathered kind) and a turbo-fan thruster sticking out of its butt.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.
