My interest had been waning and I'd seriously considered dropping my pledge, but then I saw the apocalypse monsters.....

War & Apoc are my favourites, I'm guessing that they are JAG sculpts. I really wish that they were all available in resin, I would buy them in an instant at four times the price.

There's no way that they can be one-piece figures, I pray that they don't come pre-assembled...

The two heroes are nice too, but the less said about cat-woman the better.

Very amazing stuff. Now the price... I will be my own undoing! The flesh is weak.

I backed out a week or two ago, but those Apocaplyse monsters are just ridiculous. I'd rather just buy them for $40, I don't know if I want to have to shell out $100 extra for a collection of tentacle covered blobs and some really ugly human figures.

Holy ! When did this thing take a turn towards Kingdom Death? Definitely going to look into getting that apocalypse box at some point.

Apocalypse is without a doubt a must buy. So I guess the rest of the campaign will net us Wrath and Gluttony

Why'd you bow out?

And if the Apocalypse 5 can't get you back in, what would?!?

Budget directed to Dark Age Outpost, Warpath, Battletech and soon Dropfleet Commander. Can't have everything

I feel you, man.

If I back the Others, I'd be looking to spend:
$ 90 EB
+$ 40 Apoc
+$ 25 S&H
=$ 155 total

There's just no way I back for the monsters in the base game and fail to get the huge monsters in the Apoc expansion. That would be total pennywise nonsense.

My issue is that SDE KS #2 is launching next month, and I'm pretty certain I'm backing for more SDE stuff. With a fixed hobby budget, and rapidly-overflowing games closet, I'm just not sure I also back this KS.

Fair point there!

I'm stretch thin in terms of the ol' gaming budget too.

The apocalypse set is nice, but I think I'm still waiting for retail. Budget is blown by Zombicide which I can play with my kids, where these sculpts are still a few years off. I'll miss the exclusives, but I think I can live with that.

I reckon I'll give it a miss to be honest and see what sort of price it comes out at retail. I can't really be commiting $140 to this KS when I'm only interested in the add on, which isn't even a KS exclusive. My Bloodrage has just arrived anyway and that's probably more than enough large creatures to keep me painting for months (then Dungeon Saga should be arriving, then Zombicide, then I'm seriously interested in the new SDE KS coming this month, etc etc etc) I've already got a serious backlog on the horizon, maybe it's for the best that I stop making it worse! They are seriously nice figures though, but I'm probably going to have to let this one go and look at the big picture (as much as it pains me!)

Why not pay 1$+40$ ? It is cheaper and will make the other pledgers happy too. I don't even think you have to pledge the sole 1$.

I half expected that, but it's still a disappointment.

Now I'm concerned about potential issues from poor assembly, have CMON released any pre-assembled figures in the past that can allay my fears?

I have a vague recollection of some pre-assembled Sedition Wars gun turrets that weren't exactly assembled well.

Is that an option? I don't see a $1 option on the KS, only the $100 option (and $90 early bird). Or is it one of those things where I'd have to contact Cmon and ask them to do it?

CMON always* let's people back for $1 now, get an invite to the PM and then buy whatever is available.

I'm sure they'll do that again here.

*But best to confirm now, of course, via a PM to them!

Yes, of one of The Others production models, even.

That's sitting on my display cabinet right now.

There are few small gaps that you can see (between his legs, a small one at his mouth) but as you can see, the quality is pretty phenomenal, especially for non-HIPS plastic.

I haven't cleaned him up a bit, and not sure how much I'll need to. Mould lines are pretty scarce (you can small ones on the face tentacles and on his fingers of the two lower hands).

It's also worth noting that CMON has used a different manufacturer than the one that did Sedition Wars for quite some time now.

Cheers, I'll give that a go then, as I'm pretty sure the retail price in England will be pretty terrible compared to a KS in $.

Having just received Blood Rage, and the large models being stunning, I'm really tempted by this..

How to sneak another KS through the house to the office though..

I'm guessing they have a home office where they stash all that sweet, sweet plastic, given the "through the house" wording...

The Blood Rage monsters truely are 10/10. It's amazing why we even bother with hips, resin, restic or metal. This "board game plastic" is just suberb.

I'm 100% serious, this stuff is all I ever wanted. Crisp clear cast, almost 0 mouldlines, LAUGHABLY cheap and pre-assembled.

I think the biggest issue is that not everyone can hit that standard with the "board game plastic;" See the Project: ELITE thread for reference.

true, not everyone gets it right Coolmini or whoever is actually in charge of the minis seem to have found the correct material/manufacturing process.

Check the minis out if you can. I got ~80 minis including a dozend BIG monster and prepping them to a very high tabletop standard took like 1 hour in total. I do scrape and cut away a tiny bit of mould line from almost every miniature, but there are no bothering gaps, no missing parts.. no finecast
