Yeah and every kid bored in school has ADHD (also known as 'I'm a Kid and find my teacher boring' disorder). Doesn't mean we dismiss every word on paper that comes from medical research or jump from acknowledging underhanded practices and lies to grand conspiracies.

And to make this point obvious, Restless Leg Syndrome does exist and no one in the medical field has ever argued it doesn't. They've accused big pharma of exaggerating the symptoms and frequency to sell drugs to people who don't really need them. Same thing as ADHD and many other disorders (especially neurological ones). Big pharma doesn't need to make up diseases when they can just tell you you have one you actually don't.

I guess Poe's law held true for me.

Or did it?

I'm NOT afraid your world will hurt or disappoint me.

I'm pretty much convinced it WILL do so and am pretty well resigned to that fact. The rise of reality TV "stars", the apparent disappearance of common sense, etc.

It's like I don't fear death. I know it will happen. I fear a long, lingering painful death - but at least with dementia I can hide my own easter eggs.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

Isn't it just possible that they mixed up dementia and Korsakov's?

Not that I find the study particularly reliable or plausible but I think a lot of people are conflating skepticism with cynicism, here.
