They are actually filming for Sharknado 2... 
Once that's done they need to up the ante and cross promote with either Sharktopus or Mechashark, only then can they level up with gladiators.

I imagine SyFy will just show the version where they've just used pan & scan and some CGI hair to cover up the rude bits. It's basically the same show, but at the same time really pointless.

Well, the first episode aired.
There is not as much sex (nudity), swearing and gore in the first episode like there will be in the following episodes but there was enough changed to keep it tame to take note (it was obvious).
The "I'll find your women!" scream was one of the obvious ones.
I'm surprised they kept in the puddles of blood that are produced when someone is stabbed to be honest.
They will screw up Oenomaus' inspirational speech to the new recruits in the next episode. I will be sad.
I'm interested to see how they are going to change some of the famous phrases in the show?

not really to be more "family friendly" syfy is basic cable and you cant really show nudity, swearing, or too much gore on basic cable....though syfy's lost girl really pushed the envelope on what was basic cable approved for a sex scene

I woke up at 3 morning to a sex scene from lost girl.
I wasn't too sure what channel it was but checked on the cable box. I was quite surprised it said syfy, I checked twice.

Yeah....if I had a dollar for every reference to Jupiter's male equipment that rhymes with lock....I could pay off my student loans.
It will ruin the show to censor all of the offensive stuff...it just won't work on "normal" cable.
Now....that said....I have witnessed the unedited version of The South Park Movie on Comedy Central in the wee hours of the morning. Pleasantly surprised to hear the Uncle song by T&P
