The thing with Typhus though is he is the most butt-hurt of the Chaos Scions. Even when he was just Typhon, he was always seemed to have this enormous chip on his shoulder.
If I had to classify him, I'd call him the emo kid of the cult leaders. And he was originally one of my favorites, as was the Terminus Est. After reading the first couple books in the Horus Heresy though, especially Flight of the Eisenstein and the back and forth between Grulghor and Typhon/Typhus, I was going "Ok kids! Turn that frown, upside down now!" And then Grulghor turned into a giggly Plague Marine and I thought, "Well that's one of them! Now it's Typhus' turn." lol
Like I said, I don't know much of the fluff - I should probably start paying more attention to these things

Kaldor draigo (joking)
My top 5 characters reason and, in no particular order
Grimaldus (dude crawled out of ruined temple that fell on his head)
Belial (when he was 16 he dueled with DA chaplain for 7 minutes before losing)
Sigismund(beated Kharn in a duel in 7 seconds)
Kardan Stronos (teaching the iron hands not to suppress but master their emotions.. interesting since he doesn't have a good record of emotion mastering)
And Tyberos the red wake (because, hunger and slake, blowing up badab and tearing a new one to the seccecionists so hard that loyalist astartes were horrified, and also the most awesome honor guard ever)

1. Bluddflagg and friends collectively claim this spot because they're god damn hilarious.
2. The Swarmlord because it looks incredibly cool. Old One Eye and the Deathleaper are also pretty boss.
3. Gorgutz because he makes me laugh myself silly.
4. Thomas god damn MacAbee because he was just the coolest damn Necron.
5. Kutlakh the Worldkiller because he is the most badass newcron to walk the earth. He's also tied with Trazyn for the lulz that thief inspires.
6. Gabriel Angelos. An unambiguously good and heroic character that still manages to be grimdark is something quite refreshing.
7. Farseer Taldeer. God damn that snark of hers, I can't stop myself from snerking.
8. Araghast/DoW I Eliphas. Both excellent Chaos Lords, 'nuff said.
9. Sergeant Mira/Warboss Grimskull. Mira for being such a great female character, Grimskull for being an amazing Ork who should have been the final villain of Space Marine.
10. Spiritseer Iyanna. Someone in the setting with actual hope and optimism is just so...refreshing. And I loved her interactions in Valedor.

Off the top of my head?
He'stan, Elysius, Dak'ir, Fulgis, Ba'ken, Tsu'gan (Kyme writes some seriously good characters), Parmenion Thade, Taan Darrick, Octavia, Septimus, Talos, Variel, Xarl, Uzas, Torgaddon, Lucius the Eternal, Solomon Demeter, Saul Tarvitz, Garro, Luther, Zachariah Kersh, Caedis, and the Novamarines in Death Integrity, although I can't remember their names.
Oh, I almost forgot Thirianna from Path of the Seer, probably the most believable and best written characters in 40K and 30k.

I would probably like Trazyn a little more if he didn't seem so much like a moustachio-twirling villain. I can't imagine him doing anything other than gifting a d***-in-a-box to any other important 40K character he meets.

While I like Eliphas in all of his incarnations (though his first is definitely the best) this "repact" with Abbadon gave him all the qualities I hate about the "standard" chaos lord.
Sniveling, conniving, backstabbing weiner who is afraid of the real boss when he shows his face. Obviously Eliphas isn't destined for Daemonhood anytime soon. Hell, he can't even keep his Black Legion sorcerers from talking shiza to him.
Eliphas: "Do not question me worms! I have the right to lead!!"
Sorcerer Nero: "Oh really? HEY BOSS! GET IN HERE!! ELIPHAS FORGOT YOU BOUGHT HIS SOUL ON FIRE!!!"
-facepalm-

To be fair, a fairly large chunk of characters from DOW are incompetent fuckwits who survive purely by the grace of the author and should have died a long time ago. The only characters that seemed to have a lick of sense to them was Davian Thule. Even the Eldar were a bunch of idiots for tasking their Warlock with the job of prophecy when he isn't even an actual Farseer, just a student of the path likely to leave it later, when they have an actual Farseer in their warhost.

Presumably because they couldn't get her VA or something.
Also Castor and co were pretty bright.

Given Adrastia's reaction to Kyras pile driving Gabriel I'd say Angelos is asking her all the right "questions" to get in good graces with the inquisition if you know what I mean.

It's a joke. About every two weeks Dakka Dakka can't help it and breaks its rehab instructions to delve into its space marine genital fetish. It's as bad if not worse than female space marine threads.

When it is intentional, posting all in lowercase without punctuation is used to make a post seem humorous/passiveaggressive/sarcastic.

Hehe, glad you didn't took it personally. It was just that i couldn't understand what you meant by first response .. anyways my favourite non imperium characters would probably be:
Kharn, Swell guy from what i heard
Trollzyn... just look his story if you don't know about him
Fabius Bile: excommunicated from the legion of sick psychopaths for being a sick psychopath, which is telling something...
Skarbrand, our favourite emo bloodthirster
Vect, probably the greatest douchebag in 40k
Kranon the relentless, would be way better warmaster than certain armless failure....
