Then we should start our OWN party for the common man!

It was until it was co-opted by the Koch empire anyway.

Yeah, the underlined does a pretty good job of describing both parties sadly. When you have career politicians and legions of bureaucrats things don't always match the public's experience. I can see why the original Legions got a bit fed up of the Council of Terra

Bad flub. Of course, the difference is that Dems and Reps will take her to task for it. If it had been a Repub who made that comment only Dems would take them to task.

If there's anything more annoying than a rich conservative (Republican) not caring about "the people", its a rich liberal (Demorat) pretending to be of the people.

This is something I always thought as weird. If you are a democrat that made it to big league politics, you are worth quite a bit. You are rich, no if ands or buts. But you are championing the the poor?
How is that different from a rebublican who came from the farm and is now rich?

Its like British MPs (typically Labour and Liberal Democrat) who claim they attended state Comprehensive schools, but omit to mention that at the time they were school children their schools were Private, selective Grammar schools and were only converted into State schools years after they left.

Or who claim "We're all in this together" (current Conservative Prime Minister W**ker) whilst they cut benefits and raise taxes, then claim expenses to help subsidise the mortgages on their second or third homes.

Or who claim to represent the Working Class, but abolish the lowest personal income tax rate - 10p. (Gordon Brown, our previous, Labour PW).

I can't imagine why anyone would wonder that. It has been par for the course since at least the 1960's, and that is being very generous.

I doubt you served 20+ years and retired from the military and are also 21 years old.

In case you misunderstood I will rephrase. Being cynical about politics at 21 is not unusual at all; if anything is odd enough to garner attention it would be a 21 year that isn't cynical about politics.

Pretending to be politically involved in college is also not unusual. This is more true the closer you are to the Liberal Arts side of campus. STEM doesn't tend to care all that much, or have the time to. Also, don't confuse having a political opinion with being active either.
