A girl with pale skin and light brown hair would be perfect. And green eyes are a bonus. Oh, and she should be rather small, I don't want a girl that is taller than I am (and unfortunately, I am rather undersized ) The perfect girl also needs to be sporty, not covered in a thick layer of make-up and she needs to be fluent in Russian. Sexy accents are a plus.
And I guess I could tell this here as well, *checks to make sure no one is around* but I also secretly like boys with long hair. I don't know why, I just always have. I just think it is cute.

Well, if the op wants what is considered to be the basis for a universal measure of physical attractiveness then it would be Bilateral Symmetry. The closer our left and right body halves are to being perfect mirror images seems be a general starting point but from their it will have a lot to do with both environmental and genetic influences.

It is also influenced by body language. You can have a drop dead knock out of an individual but if they walk around with a negative/sour expression it will be a turn off for many and a turn on for a few.
Poor posture can convey a lack of confidence and be a visual turn-off.

A Ginger(Pale skinned red-headed) colored person with lots and lots of freckles is to many considered a flaw but to others is cute and gives of a cutie next door vibe.
A person with one brown eye and one blue will be disconcerting to some and exotic to others.

Another part of physical attractiveness is smell. A mans natural musk may be repellent to some and and strong draw to another. BTW, I cannot stress just how powerful natural smell attraction is. Smell is the sense most closely tied to memory. If a prospective partners natural odor repulses you then odds are that, in the long run, no amount of showering and axe body spray will fix this issue. That's because everyday you wake up together the first thing to greet you is their smell.

Note- This doesn't mean to give up immediately. If you really like the person, you can ask them to try a different diet to see if it improves things. For those of you that don't understand this, try living in a single bedroom flat with a partner who constantly eats asparagus.

UK

You've got your own personal opinion of what's attractive,

which is over-layed by a societal idea of what is attractive in men and women

(eg society in the UK seems to think thin is attractive, it used to prefer a more rounded appearance especially in women)

there also seems to be a 'universal/genetic' driver towards certain signals such as a very specific waist/hip ratio and a symetrical face which probably represents a solid 'good faith' signal of reproductive fitness (plenty of studies on this although not all of them filter out racial bias)

there is also a less well understood scent based attraction (or perhaps repulsion) that is probably based on the immune system such that if you're immune system is genetically 'close' to that of a potential partner you'll be repulsed (to a degree) and if it's genetically 'distant' you'll be attracted (to a degree) and is thought to be an evolved mechanism to prevent inbreeding (incest) and to promote outbreeding (which means some of your children will have suffificntly different immune systems to resist diseases that will effect you). this is well studied/proven in mice and looks to happen in people (but the studies are not as solid)

All I know is that while many (including myself) find redheaded women attractive, very few women find redheaded males attractive. Thankfully mine is more auburn so I have it better than most, but I know its hurt my chances in the past

Other than that its mostly personality. Guys get a lot of judgment based on how we carry ourselves and act for example. A couple of things changed in what you wear and how you wear it, fixing your posture, and working on being more confident in speech all go a long way. I've been switching to better fitting shirts and jeans and that alone helped my look immensely. I'm still no fashion model by any means, but now I at least don't feel like a schmuck.

I know that for me to be attracted to a woman, she has to have a good sense of humor and a confident personality. I tend to go for taller women too (but since I'm 5'5", that's not saying much) and I guess that's because they tend to have that kind of a personality. Other than that I'm not picky. As long as I enjoy being around you without your face turning me to stone, I'm happy.

Did anyone watch the original video? She was basically trying to argue that western imperialism was the cause of people Indonesia(and around the world) finding fair skin more attractive. All because some random people on the internet airbrushed her face into lighter tones. The anchor even used the word "racism". It's absurd.

She is obviously trying to get a research grant and using the political environment to get it.

---------
IMHO..

I think that people want to see clean skin. Put a ginger up there and see how many freckles they remove. Hell.. See how much they darken the skin because pale skin is actually usually considered a sign of sickness. I've never seen a person say that look more attractive while going through chemo.

It's pretty common knowledge that what makes people "attractive" to members of the opposite sex varies. There are psychological reasons why some people are attracted to people that look similar or vastly different to their own family. Some people have a "type" and other people don't. Nothing wrong with it either way.

According to most studies i've seen, symmetry and proportionality of facial features is the top factor in determining whether a person's face is attractive to a vast majority of the general public.

However.. when if comes to body type, the waist-hip ratio is a better predictor of overall sexual attraction. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waist%E2%80%93hip_ratio

Yyyup.

I think attractiveness is (scientifically speaking) basically a function of symmetry and proportions, no? Hasn't it been found that the more attractive someone is the more symmetrical their features are? Likewise the more attractive someone is the more their features fit within that 'golden ration', yes?

Haha. As for me, it's totally dependent on the person. Most of my ex-girlfriends or my current girlfriend look nothing alike. All I ask is that they're in good shape/healthy. That's how I live my life, and I'd prefer it if my significant other did as well.

I'll agree with this, with the caveat that I would prefer it if they were not significantly taller than me, and I don't really feel any attraction to people who are too overweight. Apart from that, (almost) anything goes.

Scones aren't solely sweet, there are plenty of savoury ones.
