I would probably have the luck to be a member of an astropath family, however as one not blessed with the proper psychic tuning i'd mearly be placed in the house's private guard unit and would either life my life carefree or killed by an assasination attempt upon my house.

I would Like to be an Astartes Kill Marine under the command of a Rouge Trader. Mostly free to do what you want (which is to kill stuff for the imperium), mostly unbeatable in combat (until my rouge trader does something idiotic like piss off an Eldar Corsair), and fairly comfortable (working for one of the richest individuals in the imperium).

This is something I have always thought about and I always think about with my nerd hobbies to relate to them more but now I want to see what other people think.

If you were somehow transported into the Warhammer 40k-verse, where would you fit in it as an individual or where would you like to fit into? In a galaxy literally of billions, who knows if any one of us would actually get to see the things we play out on the table top but it is a thought experiment and to me, always a way to explore the way we see ourselves.

For me, I can tell you right off the bat with my strong will and wanting to turn the mind into a weapon, I would be a psyker of some sort. Because I am on a crusade in life to help make the world a better place, I would then find myself in the Inquisition, more than likely as an Ordo Malleus Inquisitor on a quest to purify the galaxy from Chaotic corruption.

This has been challenged lately because of reading The Emperor's Gift where actually getting into the head of a Grey Knight has made me question whether my mind set is actually that of an Inquisitor or do I fit more neatly into the mind of a Grey Knight. My real life job reflects this since I go in and keep people from danger they know nothing about. To this, I would say that I am also likely to fit in as a Grey Knight probably as a Librarian. I would just hope that I would make it through the 666 trials to become one...
You would most likely be a factory worker on an Industrial world or imperial guard cannon fodder.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.
