Hi Dakka,
Looking for comments on a Maelstrom focussed list at 1500.
HQ
Coteaz
OMI, Terminator armour, Hammer, Psycannon, Psybolt, 3 x Servo skulls
Elite
10 Purifiers (4 Psycannons) (Combat squad, 3 psycannons with Coteaz and OMI)
Troop
Henchmen (Crusader, Psyker, Acolyte), Psyback, Dozer
Henchmen (Crusader, Psyker, Acolyte), Psyback, Dozer
Henchmen (Crusader, Psyker, Acolyte), Psyback
Henchmen (Crusader, Psyker, Acolyte)
Henchmen (Crusader, Psyker, Acolyte)
Henchmen (2xCrusader, 5x DCA) riding in Stormraven
FA
Stormraven (MM, Assault Cannons)
HS
Dreadknight
Dreadknight
Dreadknight
1499.
My main question is regarding stock DK. Are they worth it? I normally run DK with greatswords, incinerators and teleporters, but that adds to 260pts. So, I figured volume may be better. Was planning to start one on the board and DS the other two (or should I start all three on the board?).
Second question is whether to have the purifiers. The main aim was to have a pile of psycannons for Coteaz to join (the OMI is to provide tanking for Coteaz) but, I could use a purgation squad (and drop one of the DK obviously). However, this way I get more bodies, plus I get 2 units that can cast cleansing flame. If I take purgation, I save around 100 points, which could be used to trick up the DK.
Thoughts?

HQ
Coteaz
Best HQ in the Codex point for point. Great pick.

Psycannons and psybolt are mutually exclusive. So drop psybolt and save some points. Otherwise this is a fine choice.

I haven't run purifiers much, but this looks just fine. Love psycannons!

The crusader in every squad seems a little out of place. You're probably trying to make the tiny squad last longer on the board, but isn't that what the psyback is for? I'd save some points here for use later.
Personally I'm missing the sponsons and psybolt here, but the extra 50 points is tough to come up with in this list. Fine choice though, and I LOVE the payload!!!
The way you normally run DKs is the best way to run them. If you want to save points, then drop the greatsword. But the points that go into the incinerators and teleporters are practically mandatory. I'd drop one DK, then use the points saved throughout the list to give the remaining two teleporters and incinerators. Definitely start both remaining DKs on the table.

I like your list but would change it up a bit to make it look like this:
HQ
Coteaz
OMI, Terminator armor, Hammer, Psycannon, 3 x Servo skulls
Elite
10 Purifiers (4 Psycannons)
Troop
Henchmen (Psyker, Acolytex2), Psyback, Dozer

FA

i agree with above's edit.
Henchmen squads need to be focused. putting the crusaders in the squads is a place where a lot of points can be saved. however i would make them all psybacks.
DKs stock are really bad. The great thing about the teleporting with the Incinerator ones is they can really mess with those gun line armies out there and act as a distraction as your purifiers and and DCA squads get there. those incinerators are priceless against anything with a 4+ armor save. I've destroyed entire squads in a round of shooting with those before (deepstriking and not running can be dangerous that way)
Stock they are just moving 6'' a turn and maybe... maybe.. might get into combat on the 3rd-4th turn. they do wreck a lot in close combat though (haven't had one lose in close combat yet, but had one take out a greater unclean one the other day at the cost of his own life)
above poster. purifiers are pretty good in this edition. that nova usually picks up a few models from each squad it hits. if it is combat squaded and pushing out 2 a turn in close proximity it can be pretty painful. then follow it up with the psycannons and bolter shots. the only issue i run into here is that this usually makes my charges much more difficult, so if you are going to charge in the same turn, dont nova or shoot. but once they are in combat those novas are godsend. had 1 purifier the other day go toe to toe in close combat with 10 orks and win because of that nova. purifiers are a staple in my army right now.

@W0lfgang, thanks for the comments!
I think you are right re the DK - I was just toying with the idea of having more of them to compensate for the lack of movement. The theory was to start one on the board and move it up aggressively, then DS the other two near a servo skull to reduce the scatter. They are essentially distractions to divert the opponents attention from shooting at the henchmen. However, I'm not sure stock DK do enough damage to make it worthwhile.
Usually, I reckon the Greatswords are also mandatory - I've found that they help a lot to make the DK more effective and therefore a bit more scary. They might help to mitigate here?
Re the Stormraven's loadout, I love that unit. It has not failed me yet. It is so good I'm seriously tempted to get another one instead of a DK.
Re the henchmen, you picked it - the crusaders are there to keep them alive. The reason is that I get the psykers to roll on telepathy - I'm obviously shooting for invisibility, but shrouding is also good, so that I can keep Coteaz and the psycannons alive. So the henchmen squads tend to be outside the psybacks. In the above list, the only thing in a psyback would be the combat squadded purifiers (this really should be a rhino so I can cleansing flame and shoot out of it - but I like the psyback).
Also, the odd psychic shriek that works is very handy as well.
Automatically Appended Next Post: @smotejob,
I agree on the purifiers, I think they are great value, particularly as they are fearless and can take multiple special weapons. I'm always torn between fearless and cleansing flame, vs taking interceptors for the shunt and additional movement.
I used to go interceptors, to tie up with the shunting DK, but now end to lean towards purifiers.
