Dumbest place to stand in the world: in front of a Mantic KS in the final few hours.

It's like the bullet train!

"now complete the whole collection of Dwarf King’s Hold with the scenarios from Ancient Grudge, and any of the bonus scenarios included in print magazines like Ravage, remastered for Dungeon Saga."

Are these form the original DKH?

edit: $970K, 5521 backers.

That would seem to be the case, Yonan, yes - plus any that have been "officially" printed elsewhere.

More scenarions can only be a good thing, though, surely?

Yeah I'm all for more scenarios. Final day already has more $$$ than first day, pretty impressive.

Can I pledge $1 and then change my pledge to Dungeon Master in the pledge manager?

Yes you can

While you can, it's a bit of a jerk move, if you're planning to spend the money, pledge it, and help get to the next stretch goal.

On a personal note, I'm quite excided by this game, I'd not been interested, then a friend sent me a link and I got hooked.
I've gone Dungeon Master with $100 extra so I get the hardback, some expansions, and dice/rulers etc.
I missed out on Deadzone due to finances, and I'm not missing out on this.

I'm actually not planning it, I'm hoping. I'm completely broke right now

Damn, IEM Toronto (SC2 tournament) has finished. Now it's harder to justify sitting on the PC at 4 AM -_-

Awww, last update doesn't really do much for me. A new hero and some scenarios for him. At least it's free I guess ; ) He does look nice too... hmmm. Not too shabby really, but $45K to get it.

If we hit this stretch goal, we will produce Valandor - a mighty hero to fight back against the darkness, and the Undead Demon Lord Ba’el. We will include him FREE in pledges of Dungeon Master ($100 and Early Bird). Furthermore, we will write a set of scenarios that feature Valandor leading a party of warriors against the tide of monsters that have inflicted the world of Mantica, in a bid to defeat Ba’el and his hordes.

A better way to phrase it I think would be "they've funded everything they could have hoped for in this campaign."

KoW angels are larger than human sized, so I guess this will be too.

Meanwhile other companies are gobbling up GW market share like... I can't think of a non-offensive comparison.

edit: Oh is he an Elohi or something similar? That's a fair bit better then, I love me some Elohi!

Oh and $989K

Anyone know if there are "hireling" rules, so rather than a lot of heroes, one-two heroes might take in say, a squad of basileans with them?

We're now at a stage where in 4 weeks, a company seen as a cheap little competitor to GW has raked in over $1 million for just one project and with well over 5000 backers too.

This is not small change, and represents a big chunk of gamers out there - if I were GW I would surely be asking 'why are they doing so well' - this is $1 million not in GW accounts that a few years ago would have been, and I suspect if WHQ had been released again would definitely have gone that way.

It is scary how much market share GW is losing now and I for one am delighted!

Huh. Not terribly fussed over Valandor or whatever. But a series of missions for the heroes to go with him and fight the big bad thing? Kinda cool.

Woulda rather seen him at 1milliion and then something smaller and neat to come after.

Yeah it's pretty underwhelming for $45K. Maybe they're right at their limit for what they can include in the pledge though, it looks like very good value now already.

Only $30k to go now, still over 2 hours. Think it should make it.

I guess he is the only thing they have left and putting the goal at 1 million would have meant no excitement in the last hour.

TBH the final option felt like a 'we've Overdosed on caffeine and nicotine and not slept for days and we've run out of ideas yet still they want to give us money' moment!

Yeah look at how reaper bones 2 ended... they had to do a pie in the face for a stretchgoal cause people wouldn't stop asking for more.

I'm not sure WHQ would actually compete. Even if GW did put out WHQ would they support it past their initial release, would they pull some limited release BS, would they allow it to be sold outside of direct only, or would they figure out some other way to shoot themselves in the foot? Fact is a lot of people have been looking to put their money into games of these sorts for years and all it took was someone to fill the void.

I get why this was a larger stretch goal - it not only includes a larger hero, it also includes the development of missions for hunting the demon.

Not sure why they didn't do a 20k stretch for him (yay! $1M!) then another stretch for his missions, but the goal will be hit with relative ease, so I'm not fussed about it.
