[Edit: Added to the title because I don't want our tournament confused with the one in Mississippi]

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to give you a heads up on this year's Brawl in the Fall. We have a couple of changes, with the biggest one being that the Brawl will be a two-day tournament for the first time! It's scheduled for October 4-5. Pre-registration is now open, and you may find the information to do so at:

http://www.brawlinthefall.com/Upcoming-tournaments.html

We should have the latest updated rules and missions posted in the next week or so. We expect to have great sponsorship as we have in the past as well, more on that later.

We have space for 40 players this year, and expect it to sell out fairly quickly, so get your spot while you can!

Thanks, and I look forward to seeing many of you there!

Mark

2 day, 5 rounds? A bunch of us from Sac are looking to come down. Any hotels in walking distance of the event location?

Yep, two days, five games. There's a pretty nice Best Western that's right next to the venue:

http://book.bestwestern.com/bestwestern/US/CA/Clovis-hotels/BEST-WESTERN-Clovis-Cole/Hotel-Overview.do?propertyCode=05575

And about 2-3 blocks away is a Comfort Suites:

LMK if you need any other info. There are a variety of places to eat/get adult beverages within a few blocks of both of those hotels as well.

We look forward to seeing you guys there!

I am curious as well, what are the army construction guidelines, missions, points limit and what will the prize support look like?

Prize support is awesome Adam. In the past years almost everybody gets something. From books to 40k board games to dice and these are just door prizes. Usually 1st overall and best general get an army of some sorts.

Mark we have 4 people so far. Jesse, Jared, Kent and I have bought tickets. We are expecting 4 more of us.

I didn't notice any differences (someone point them out to me?) but to save folks an extra 'click'; Rules are BAO and the missions are BAO scenarios 1-5.

BAO Missions 1, 2, 4-6 to be exact

That's every one of them except the one with the Relic.

Yup, we're using the BAO format since we're part of their ITC now. I don't have confirmation on the number of spots we have left, but our max is 40, and we've sold out the last two years, so if you want in, better to get it sooner instead of later. THE

just to be clear, it's BAO format, but 1750? and the BAO FAQ's are in effect?

for the locals:

Between Kimmie's, Di Cicco's and the Old Town Sallon, which offers best food, air-conditioning, and well, beer ( duh )?

I have *my* priorities straight.

Oh, yes. Lotsa 'eating' icons popped up on the map.

As was the case for the BAO in San Jose, oodles of places.

But the one restaurant lacked A/C and was small, getting quickly crowded (we didn't really spot this issue until the whole group of guys committed, like 12).

While 50 feet further was a pizza joint with A/C and thrice the seating. I had scouted the pizza place with GoogleMaps. However, judging by its narrow front, it looked really tiny. I didn't realize how *deep* the building was.

Thus, I ask.

Which is a good place to grab a beer and, like bar food, for lunch? I gotta live up to Blackmoor's faith in me.
