Good job Lt - once that gets a bit of weathering it's going to be superb

Nice work Cam Looks great, lovely little ork speedster. The ork's skin could perhaps do with a bit more depth - a darker wash in the recesses maybe? Or pehaps a very thin red wash in there - that can add a real 'skin' feel to ork flesh.

Primed, hit with some random rattlecans, rough wash and drybrush, started in on some colouring...

That is excellent. These are all excellent, such awesome work.

I had some recent real-life drama/crap so I don't think I'll be painting anything but single simple relaxation minis for a good week or two, and then I'll be gunning for the deadline on a gift diorama. I don't want to taint it by trying to bend it to the theme so I chose to gracefully exit.

If I sign up for another one of these, I'm going to finish it or die trying. And by die, I mean forbid myself from signing up again and re-boarding the shametrain.

I really want to build terrain. So I am going to keep working on my piece and I will try my hand at other little things just for the learning experience. This commission came out of nowhere and gets some more gaming cash into my hands so I had to take it.

Forgive me now! Tomorrow I may no longer feel guilty...

I have had a rather busy weekend with working until 5am Friday and Saturday night, and my son's 4th birthday party on Sunday followed by impromptu BBQ, resulting in me falling asleep on the sofa at 21:30 due to, too much meat and cider Hopefully i can make some further progress tonight.

Sorry about the RL stuff GrimDork and EyeamRai. No shame in not finishing. The shame is in never starting (Possibly. What is the saying, "the master has failed more times than the beginner has even tried"?)

Awetastic WIPs guys. We have slightly less than 5 weeks, so plenty of time.

Love the panels and rivets on the bridge vik, that's a very cool look, nice girder work down the side too. How's the opening mechanism coming along?

Still looks great Lt, and still no real C&C for you...I know you've still to weather the dodo. Maybe some dirt, oil spills, door scrapes etc around the entrance?

Understandable Grim and Eyeam....As you say Eyam you'll still build terrain anyway, and Grim I'm sure that dio idea can be utilised again sometime

5 weeks? That doesn't feel like a lot Need to get on with the figures....

And I've been having lots of fun with Tim Holtz clear crackle paint (oh boy, have I )

It sucks when real life gets in the way of having fun. Hopefully GrimDork and EyeamRai will crush it next time.
Here's another WIP...I've primed it up and and weather permitting I'll get another coat or two on today.

Looking good guys!

It looks like you figured that crackle stuff out, I tried it once but never could get it to work, maybe a bad brand or just inexperience.

Fallen bridge looks great mekugi, love all the rebar.

Good looking road markings there M0rdain.

I've used the Tim Holtz crackle before on terrain pieces, and experimented a little on figures with it, and it is fun stuff - but this clear crackle has really got my attention, very useful. I've tried a few other brands before and none worked as well as these...and got nowhere with other clear crackles I've used before. You do need to be quite heavy with the application, very thin layers don't have much effect.

Your moebius road is looking heaps more fleshy than I imagined it would Monkeytroll...I love it, it ups the otherworldliness of it a bunch.
Littletower, that draisine looks store bought now that it's painted up!.. Everyones work is looking fantastic.
I managed to get a bit more painting done including a bit of graffiti It all looks a bit too fresh still though, what is a good way to stick charcoal dust/fine crusher dust to a bit of terrain?
Would hair spray hold it in place all right or should I go buy some spray adhesive?
Anyway, here are a trio of WIP's
I still have to add the dirt to the ground, but I figure I'll do that next to last thing so I don't accidentally paint it.
Also, what colour do you reckon I should paint the guard rails and the wrecked rhino? I was planning on putting just a bit of flaking paint on the rhino, hinting at a chapter (it looks like space wolf grey atm but thats just the primer/ceramite layer).
Cheers

Not where I should be

Looking amazing mekugi.

For the hand rail a dirty light grey. They are always that galvanised steel, not shiny, kinda faded look. Could try a silver with a white wash over it!
The rhino, paint your favorite enemy's colour, so if your mates run, BA a touch of red. I think red would be cool.
Your Graffiti is awesome by the way.
Cant help you with the dust, though I use thin layers of superglue to add some of my finer dusting detail, but then I paint it after. Also could try paint? A coat of varnish and then apply your dust?

Thanks Camkierhi,
I'll give the silver railings a whirl...I was totally blanking on them. I think it needs more rivets holding the railing down to the concrete foundations too.
I'm a bit wary of varnishing it too...if even a tiny bit sneaks past the paint it'll melt pretty spectacularly! I like the super glue idea tho, i can be a bit more careful with that.

The graffiti is excellent mekugi, that's a great tag.
For the dust maybe a thin layer of pva (elmer's), that's my go to for most basing type scatter/dust.

Signpost looks great M0rdain - like the fade on the blue.

I copied what you just put up and changed all of your {'s to ['s and it seems to work? There's one at the beginning of both img tags.

Oh, you've also got the last '/' outside the url tag, it should be '[' '/'url']' minus the space and 's.

Looking good Camkierhi!
So I tried out some battered red on the rhino...I reckon it looks ok. I've misplaced my decals for the moment tho >_< I'll have to go hunting for a BA wing-tear.
I also put on a first round of dirt, I was getting sick of it not looking like a road underneath, plus it should let me figure out where to put the two pieces of wreckage from the collapse.
I'm going to have to go digging for some more to get the really fine stuff soon tho, it looks like I'm running out.
Oh, and I tried a metalic paint on the railings, I left it patchy to make it look like the white paint over the top was weathering off.
