Any one here play E.Y.E? Is there much interest in the game?
I picked it up a few weeks back when steam had it for $1 as a daily sale. Pretty fun game I think. Combines just the right amount of RPGing with FPSing
What do people like about E.Y.E, what don't you like about it? Favourite weapon? Best spot you've found for grinding, etc, etc.
Me, I like putting on heavy armour and equipping a Sulfatum. Gives you the power to easily blitz anything barring a Deus Ex or Interceptor. I really want to try using the Excidium but I haven't been able to find the research for it.
So uh... general E.Y.E thread I guess.

I have it. It's got an interesting setup, but it's a very clunky game.

Jumping high is not a basic action. Most skills are activated in eye and if can't grasp that maybe call of duty is more up your alley. Once figure out how to jump high you know how to use all the other ablities as well. They can be hotkeyed and placed on a radiant wheel (ala crysis suit modes).
My build is kinda like a hacker ninja. Katana in one hand, uzi in other. I love hacking my brother when we play in coop (and then get hacked by a bank automat).

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.
If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in. |

Yep, because there's only the two extremes
The game is clunky as hell. This has nothing to do with its outdated graphics, but intuitive controls should be a given. If you design a game and you fail at such a mundane task, then you're a bad game designer. Period.

Void Dragon and I installed it and played it for a few hours a couple weeks back.
The game has a very fun concept with its pleasingly deep FPS/RPG blend, but it's execution is terrible.
The game is extremely clunky and its user-interface is gak. Trying to play the game in single player is crap, trying to play online with a buddy is crap.
It's just a poorly made game on a fundamental level, not a conceptual one. It plays like it was made in the 90's.

Deus Ex had a better and more intuitive interface while executing a similar concept.
Released in 2000.

It's like the anti-Destiny. The depth of the mechanics and variety of what you can actually do remind me of what was promised of Destiny, but the sheer lack of polish and clunky implementation of the gameplay really dragged it down (Compared to Destiny which is very polished and competently made, but felt uninspired).
Also trying to play co- op with a friend is an exercise in futility. We just had to hope that we could find a server with enough empty slots that we both could see on the menu.
We eventually came to the conclusion that it was created by a neckbeard who looked at modern shooters ala Call of Duty and deliberately made his or her game to be different in almost every way, even in obtuse ways.

Guess you missed out then. Have a little perseverance. illuknisaa wrote:My build is kinda like a hacker ninja. Katana in one hand, uzi in other. I love hacking my brother when we play in coop (and then get hacked by a bank automat).
The ability to duel wield a sword and pistol is an interesting option. It's fun running madly towards someone firing your pistol and then hacking them to bits when you get in close. Also, when people talk about it being clunky, what exactly do you mean? I mean, I know what clunky is (e.g - the new GW website is a clunky monstrosity) but I'm not really seeing how the menus and whatnot are clunky.

I played a demo for it some months ago. The underlying story and setting seem really interesting. The complexity of things in the game is... awe-inspiring.
The graphics would have been terrible 15 years ago.
I spent a couple hours running around, shooting things and blowing things up, and quickly realized that I had no real idea why I was doing any of these things.
Then I made the mistake of accidentally shooting one of the guards in a church and that ended that character pretty quickly.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised. |
