Love the model. But it would appear that it's possible that neither of the Undead factions as we know them can field him. Nagash can be included in an Undead Legions Army Does that exist now as a variant list in one of the books? Nah, He's a VC guy, I mean he did CREATE the vampires. but he does cost 1000 pts. so i guess only grand armys even have an inkling of a change, or he will be like the Imperial knights from 40k. But he also lived thousands of years ago. And the Vampires are incredibly hedonistic. The only "clan" that are even vaguely associated with him are the Lahmians. And even they're not fond of the guy.

Not really the Von Carsteins as a whole, more specifically a few members, one of which is brainwashed and the other is a loyal servant of Nagash.
The Vampire Counts hate him, as do Tomb Kings, the VC he ended up hating because when they fought they didn't kill the former nekaharans, and as a result rebuked them harshly with curses, and many of which afflict them to this day.

Yeah but it's a gigantic gorgeous model and it appears to be GIGANTIC. I mean a wraithknight is 115 and doesnt have that level of fine details.
Plus you only ever need ONE nagash. I know people with FOUR wraithknights.
Also I am SO glad to see new spirit hosts. Hopefully they're affordable or else I'll stick to using my malifaux spirits on bigger bases.
I'm also not sure if I want the limited edition or not. I weant to see if it's like the other GW "limited edishun" in that "hurr we changed the cover & numbered it so gib us double monies" or if there will be a real benefit to the limited edition.
I wouldn't mind paying more for it IF it came with a limited edition model or something but I can't justify doubling the price for a fancy new cover art / sleeve and an arbitrary number.

Sorry he did not create the Vampires.. After his 1st defeat Queen Neferata found his book and took it too her city there she tried to recreate his Elixir of life but failed. Instead of true immortality she was cursed with vampirism. Neferata then gave her curse to Worshan and others which created the (now unused) bloodlines.

The Spirit Hosts were listed at 3 models for $26--which puts them at the same level as Nurglings.

It was listed as having "Two hardbound books in a slipcase with accessories" which likely means you will see counters of some kind.

It truly is the end times if the story is advancing and I'm guessing, they are going to gauge the community reaction on this, and take it as a que for the future, if this is what the masses ( /cash spenders) want maybe we will see more Dire and interesting plots/ campaigns/ models. Would eventually be a good way for GW to up primach/ daemon primarch sales if you know what I mean
By the by, I'm a huge undead fan and while I like vampires, something about Liches has always just resonated more with me, so I for one, am loving every bit of what I'm seeing, and GW might actually have intrigued me enough to pick up the other other undead meat ( TK) if their is a good skellie alliance to be had. I needed something of this magnitude to uplift my spirits though after this huge 40K string going on that I could really just care less about currently Automatically Appended Next Post: PS. Indeed - Neferata and most other Vampires hate and fear him - it will be interesting to see what the book says about how he gets them on his side - intimidation, mind control or something else. After all if Nagash wins, the Vampires loose as they have no food source - save for those few who no longer need to feed.

Oh I already know I'm buying the book (maybe SE). nagash, harbringers & at least 1 of the necrachs depending on the kit.
I have a feeling one kit builds the 3 we've seen and maybe a 4th (horsemen style makes sense from the names). Also depends on cost. I'm guaranteed down for nagash + book though.
I'd love for them to do more campaign style releases like this.

We already saw the listings.
The three named characters(Neferata, Arkhan the Black, and Mannfred von Carstein) are built from one kit. It is $79 for the kit and builds one.
The new Morghast are a dual kit that consists of two models and seemingly can build one of each at $57.

That doesn't sound too bad.
79 is pricy, but at least one could use the spare characters to create a lord / hero conversion to recoup the cost, and there should be a lot of spare pieces.

I really, really, really, really doubt they'll do a combined book.
They have spent two or three iterations now attempting to differentiate the two factions of Undead(Khemrian and Vampire Bloodlines). Simply having Mannfred von Carstein(the only prominent, living member of a Bloodline which very well might have ties to Nagash to begin with--remember that Vlad was a "mysterious Northerner" who had one of Nagash's own tomes) with some Khemrian characters who have been associated with Nagash does not necessarily mean that they're going to roll everything up.
If anything, Undead Legions and the Cult of Nagash getting their own book is a good thing. Mannfred and Arkhan the Black can be pulled from their respective books and get put into the Undead Legions with Neferata and give some interesting, distinct "lieutenants" for Nagash while opening some character slots for VC and TK.
I would love to see Walach Harkon or the Red Duke show up in the VC book, for example, to showcase the more "fighty" non-Bloodline characters.
Not as familiar with TK stuff but I'm sure there are a few marginalized characters who could show up and be fantastic additions to differentiate the TK from VC and Undead Legions.

Except for the bone beard I LOVE the model. Seems to me like it has some design elements mixed in from TK, VC, Skaven and DE which would fit considering he has interacted with all of the above. Can't wait to see the models for any of the other rumored creatures, especially the winged chariot which I believe was mentioned in one of the VC army books. Also heard a rumor that the End Times campaign that's supposed to be released with Nagash will be GW's way of closing out WHFB though I'm taking that with a HUGE grain of salt.
On a side note still waiting for Brettonians :(

Honestly, I wasn't very excited when I first saw this. I mean, yes it's an amazing model, and I love my TK and anything undead, but I figured he would only be for like, VC or something. But, apparently rumors are that he and everything in his book are part of an "alliance" army? Meaning he's kinda like a supplement for TK OR VC, which now makes me want him all the more. Plus, Arkhan the Black will finally have a model. I mean, my god man...

50% lords yes. But that is any "army of the end times"
Gain control of any undead: No. That was a scenario special rule in the bat rep along with 3x range & number of models summoned. However that was to balance the fact that it was nagash Vs over 4k pts of TK.
