I'm not sure what's the "line" as I don't see any insults etc. yet. Could you elaborate on that?
There are no insults, that's why I said nothing has crossed the line yet. It's a general warning because this is a thread that has the potential to go south very very fast. I put that there so that, when someone inevitably starts flaming one side or the other, I can lock the thread without any complaint about 'no warning'.
I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...
Too bad many of my fellow Christians don't act more Christ-like.
Myself especially.
Captain Killhammer McFighterson stared down at the surface of Earth from his high vantage point on the bridge of Starship Facemelter. Something ominous was looming on the surface. He could see a great shadow looming just underneath the waters of the Gulf of Mexico, slowly spreading northward. "That can't be good..." he muttered to himself while rubbing the super manly stubble on his chin with one hand. "But... on the other hand..." he looked at his shiny new bionic murder-arm. "This could be the perfect chance for that promotion." A perfect roundhouse kick slammed the ship's throttle into full gear. Soon orange jets of superheated plasma were visible from the space-windshield as Facemelter reentered the atmosphere at breakneck speed.

I don't know why you're not here. I would explain to you love but you don't care. Maybe it is that I am uncertain of what is right and what is wrong? Perhaps if you were give me a sign of some sort.

Hello? is it me you're looking for?

I have always been confused by this. I do not see the love. He sacrificed his son for us. But, he is god, so he didn't need to do that at all. He just kind of needs to want us all saved and poof, we are saved. Seems like a bunch of needless drama and a wasted life.
Bender knows love, and love doesn't share itself with the world. Love is suspicious, love is needy. Love is fearful, love is greedy. My friends, there is no great love without great jealousy! I love you meatbags!
Bender lost a footcap and gave up his dream of destroying all humans and rulership of Earth to save his friend from a creepy cloud squid in a pirate themed rescue.

Exactly. The only question is which is correct:
1) God is a sadistic tyrant who had his son tortured to death as a scapegoat for humanity because someone needs to suffer. And of course if you don't accept that act of sadistic murder then you get to spend eternity in unimaginable suffering.
2) God is a masochist who sent himself to be tortured to death and enjoyed it.
I guess which one you prefer probably depends on your interpretation of that whole trinity thing.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I've already thought about it...and came to the conclusion that I want nothing to do with a sadistic, jealous god who...
-decides to kill the entire human race bar one single family when hes decided that his children are totally F.U.B.A.R. as a result of his piss poor parenting skills.
- sends his only son to be brutally sacrificed
-demands human sacrifice of ones own children even if just as a loyalty test (Abraham and Isaac)
- inflicts plague and borderline genocide onto a people unlucky enough not to be God's Chosen people (plagues of Egypt), instructs his Chosen people to invade a country and commit genocide (Joshua - my namesake - and the Israelites invading the Holy Land, Jericho etc).
-etc etc
This is not intended to be bait. I was raised a Christian, chose to be baptised at 13, but eventually began applying logic and critical thinking to Christianity and other religions (especially Islam) and now at the age of 23 I'm a-theist. The Bible attributes a lot of nasty stuff to God that leads me to conclude that God as described by the Bible (and especially the Quran) is a deeply unpleasant character.
And thats all assuming that he actually exists.

Everyone has their own path to whatever you'd like to call the deities.
Christianity is a good foundation for that path. I spent quite a few years of my life there, and my family still enjoys that faith.
Perhaps we could keep the discussion positive, and point out other examples of loving deities rather than citing the cruelty of one that the OP loves?
For example,
I found the Goddess and the simple rule of three- what you do comes back to you threefold, good or ill, a very fulfilling path. Those who seek harm find it, and those who seek good are rewarded. It all balances out.
Notice I didn't go after anything I disliked about other faiths, and kept the phrasing purely positive. This is less likely to cause flare ups of passion, or damaging anyone else's faith.

I don't.

But I want to damage faith. I want to destroy it utterly and would be absolutely happy if something I said caused someone to abandon their religion.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
