His voice is okay. It's certainly better than Crowshaw's, but I still don't mind the latter's, either.

I have a general bias towards various types of British accents (and I stress British rather than English because I love Scottish accents as well).

Now now. All we need is our own Simon Cowell. We'll just cut off the rest of the season with the contest (which I never watched anyway) and focus solely on Gaming Cowell telling people how terrible they are

Honestly i'd just like to move on from all the bull crap. Remember when gaming was about the games. Now it's become as ridiculous as other forms of media and politics. Who's f*cking who, who's wrong here and who should be witch-hunted. Just shut up and tell me what games are coming in the future. I won't even ask for an honest review so much as just tell me what games are coming. To think my biggest issue used to be about how credible a game review was.

Well I know total biscuit is saying I should listen to everybody but like he says when a group attacks or is just angry in general I just shut them out. Hearing angry people makes me angry and it's just tiring to hear in general.
I mean this news is just as stupid as other media reporting the same types of things and I never cared about any of those people either. The only thing all this has done is made me want to stay away from any part of it.
I wasn't paying attention to it either but I feel like the event was more about possible cheating or breaking up of people and then bam suddenly 'social justice warriors' and 'men's rights activists' got into the mix out of nowhere just to add crap to it. Keep in mind I'm not following it but I hardly see why a game called 'depression quest' and a bunch of possible cheaters in relationships turns into another gender battle. It just feels entirely un-related and added just to get more views.

What originally lit this current flame train isn't the fact that she cheated or whatever, it's that we got proof, again, of game "jurnalism" having no work ethics.

Oh yeah, I have no idea of whatever the hell is true or not about what started it and I don't particularly care about one potentially frivolous game designer. Hell, even if it all was true, I'd just think worse of her as a person for cheating, that's it, if she did it for better grades add a little bit of extra on that. I would always lay the blame at the feet of the journalists though, you don't sleep with people who can gain outside benefits from your bias.
That said, I've never had respect for "mainstream game journalism" since the whole journalism part can be replaced with Hype generators. This is also the reason I have a lot more respect for the critics to be found on youtube (like TB) who employ a lot more transparency in their work. Even if they have bias, they make it very clear(in general) from the start they if already have a liking or disliking of said game before going into details. They simply have less to gain from hyping games which means they have no need to pander to the viewers.

What? A) I linked this post from another user to try and quell the hate. B) in response to several other Dakkanauts like myself, plenty of evidence has been presented to counter her arguments. Refusal to accept it does not mean evidence does not exist.

In the end, who the hell cares? One tiny indie dev has done something bad, big fething deal. Whether or not she did the things claimed isn't of any importance, the discussions that have grown from it are the thing of import. Focus is simply in the wrong spot.

Zoe Quinn's "argument", from a perusal on her blog, is "this is none of your business, leave me alone, and for feth's sake stop posting pictures of my breasts everywhere already". Regardless of if she actually did so or not (I've seen no evidence outside the words of an angry ex, which I always take with a more salt than a McDonald's Fry Factory's annual consumption), given that there has been no evidence posted about her having any gains from supposedly sleeping around... I still fail to see any "evidence" of her being necessarily wrong. "This is none of your business" is a fairly convincing argument when it comes to people gossiping about another person's bad break-up.

Hold on, I believe we are arguing two separate people. I'm referring to Anita, I could give a gak less what Zoe did. That's her personal business

I was arguing Zoe which apparently wasn't clear enough.
Anyway, same really goes for Anita from my viewpoint. Oh no, she's got in on activision or some other big company as a consultant? Big fething deal, first off, if they listen to her, good for them, we will probably see better treatment of female characters then. Worst case scenario? Big company takes a loss. Bohoo, some of them deserve it. Triple A gaming is a cesspool to begin with and if she can make an impact on it, be it positive or negative, I'm fine with either.
