Should have made him play his nemesis (jy2) for a spot.

Hah! I will bring the thunder against Jim sometime, got to work up my morale a little more after winning Celesticon Best General before I risk it for the biscuit.

Seconded
Tbh, I actually didn't know Jim had made the team when I went to challenge. The video came out of Jim's victory a couple of days later. Believe me though, you will see Jim and I play eachother soon enough

Cool for Jamie. Another quintessential Raw Dogger dice performance (TH/SS versus Riptide! ).

Criticism:
There's some unnecessary music and "1500 points" credits blah blah not needed at the beginning of the vid. One great quality I like about FLG batreps is getting right into the game without too much preamble, which seem to be creeping in as time moves along.

I already submitted that battle to Reece. It'll probably be out soon. Basically, Jamie and I had a 1500-pt practice game for Celesticon, with him running his Farsight-bomb and me running Tyranids and trying out the new Dimachaeron.

Lol. If they used me as a doormat, I'm afraid not very many people are going to make it into the team.
By the ways, just FYI, but not only is Jamie really young, but he's only been playing this game for about 6-7 months now. Not bad for a rookie.

Sorry, but I'm a little confused by this and looking for someone to explain. I'll underline the part that confuses me.
In this 1500pt Challenge Match, Jamie with his farsight Tau calls out Raw Dogger's Deathwing for a spot on Team Zero Comp!
Right. I ill admit I do not know how serious this match is, but from the description in seems like there is a place in a team at stake, so my question is why is one of the players using a DW list in a competitive game?
Why does he use a DW deep strike list if he knew there would be the possibility of interceptor pie plate tau? This is a perfect counter to deepstriking terminators.
Everyone knows that DW are really at the bottom of the competitive scene, especially if they are not utilizing OS LRC. The contemptor mortis were amazingly good back when 6th first hit the shelves, but have a received a nerf in every book since. In their current state I would argue that they are good, but not a top tier pick.
Not to take away from the victorious player's win, but was there any hope of the DW ever winning this one? Did the DW player just not care about having a place on this team?

It's called being in the right place at the right time against the right army. Basically, I don't think Jason was there for the challenge. Rather, he just brought a leisurely army there just for funsies and not with the intent to defend a T0C challenge match. Of course it's only him and Reece there and Reece is always too busy to play without an appointment. So in walks Jamie impromptu and he asks to play for getting into the team. Well, Reece is way too busy replying to the 100 social media sites that he posts in every day as well as to run the store without his partner Frankie there yet. Guess what? Jason has to step up and he's only got that 1 army with him.

Ok that makes more sense. Hats off to Jason then for still going through with the game.
I just couldn't see what he hoped to achieve by running a list with cc terminators in a list without a landraider or 2. With that said, maybe he made the list up on the fly as 1500 is a little odd, and DW is quite hard to fit into it.

Its actually hilarious. If he knew what he was doing then he deserves a spot for being a true Alpha Legionnaire anyway!
At the end of the day it's just a horrifically imbalanced but equally zany fun game (40K I mean)! So taking it overly serious is worse then finding the humor in it IMHO.

Even better
I love Raw Dog even if he has the worst kind of loaded dice rolls ever! He seems like the best kind of sport!

I think rewdogger was on a winning streak for a while...Reece perhaps it is the camera? Rawdogger's dice have stage fright?
The funny thing about all these comments about balance and DW having no chance is that Rawdogger actually had a solid chance to win despite the alpha legion esque ambush tactics (nice job farsight! congrats on the win). His dice were ridiculously cold though and it just slipped away. There were also some decisions made based on what I assume is unfamiliarity with the rules for a farsight bomb.

Thank you for the congratulations. I honestly think that he underestimated me too, same thing happened at Celesticon. I went up to play this DE player for a perfect score of 30 and I could tell he thought it would be easy, deploying offensively, and taking first turn, along with a slight snort of derision when he thought it would be easy, I got a perfect 10. I think for playing for 6-7 months I'm doing pretty damn well. Here are a few people I need to play on my 40k "bucket list" to feel more established, and regarded as a player that truly deserves to be on T0C:
Reece
Frankie (all joking aside, he isnt the best, and I intend to prove that)
Grant (planning a match soon)
Adam (we played once, and I was a complete tard, so I need to redeem myself)
Jim (again, but pull out a win )
Israel (setting up a match soon)
and last but not least,
Ben. Now, Ben seems to think that I don't 110% deserve a spot on T0C, so when he comes down from Oregon, I will whoop him, and cement my position. So, as you can see I'm aiming high. So I'll be making some trips up to Martinez for games. Now to address the Challenge Match, I was actually hoping to play against Jason's IG, we played in round 3 of the BAO and I beat him 9-2 but didn't play very well and so I only had 5 Kroot left on the table, luckily the game ended with me holding the relic, a rematch would have been nice. IMO Deathwing is a joke, not to negate him as a player or diss how he played it, but I was like, "Ok, thanks?" Its not the best army to play, and its not like I brought an army he could reasonably deal with, with any of his armies.
@jy2
Next time we play will be sweet, especially because I will have a newly painted army.
@Zagman
Did you go to NOVA? How was it? And we should get some sort of game in sometime, I could be headed your way in the near future.
@Imotekh
I will beat you someday, I promise
So I guess if you were to put a "morale of the story" in the batrep it would be, dont underestimate the T0C 15 year old if you see him at a tournament, and yes I will be at LVO. Thanks again! Have any questions, lemme know.

Wow. Is that bc you bring 3 Wraithknights and Imperial Knights or because your Joan of Arc or whoever?
My "Knight-fight" army isn't really a serious army. It's more of a for-sh*ts-&-giggles type of army. If I was serious, I'd actually bring a more balanced army.
Haha grats sir, way to rep the tau! See you might be taking on Ben soon. Good luck-he was our ETC coach this year and is no joke! Just remember the old Tau proverb: Shoot it in the face till it stops moving, then shoot it some more!

Yes I did, I managed to make top bracket and got ranked 5th overall. I've been working on some Batreps you can check out. If you make it to the Midwest, hit me up, I'd happily meet you for a game if possible.

There's actually 2 Bens on Team 0 Comp - Ben Cromwell and Ben Schimoller. The Ben Jamie was referring to is actually Schimoller, who beat Grant's seer council Deldar to make it onto the team at the BAO 2014. Ben had a good run at the BAO, going 5-1 and finishing 10th overall. His only loss was against yours truly:
