Finally got around to building the base for the acheron, originally the sharpie marker line was going to be the first cut but I ended up under shooting it. But I liked it after I dry fitted the rhino to the base so I decided to keep it. I then added some death guard brass etchings I had laying around, the are the main antagonists of my knight house, and used my drill to make the bullet holes and green stuff to close any gaps for the base.

Thanks! I really hope it turns out well.

Otherwise I finished making the knight last knight so here is the pose it will take on the base and the custom banner attached to the arm. The pose looks a little off because I had to slide it back so it could stand up on its own without falling over.

That banner looks awfully close to a gigantic flame thrower.

Something something grimdark(tm) something something...I have no idea where I am going with this lol. But in all seriousness, it does seem a bit close but I thought setting it this far back and down it would be far enough away from any blow back or made of fire retardant material to withstand the heat.

Otherwise I was messing around and painted skin tone/ a face for the first time. Any suggestions or constructive criticism?

Thanks para! I went with the gw scheme bugman reikland shade, cadian, highlight with kislev. But I did another wash of reikland after the cadian and idk if it came out too red.

As someone who's been working on 50 Guardsmen, I hate painting faces. Looking good though

yeah I've shied away from faces as much as possible, helmeted marines krieg etc. But now I am doing a side project and the HQ model only has a non helmet head so my hand is being forced, so I want to try on heads I don't care about before I work on that one

My next army will definitely not have any faces. Helmets only. Although I've always liked Orks, and their faces aren't exactly the same as human faces. They seem a lot easier to paint

Yeah I think they would be much easier to paint that skin tone humans.

Thank you very much! I actually will be taking a break from knights after this current one and working on a horus heresy side project.

In other news I primed and washed the rhino, but only to find out I ran out of white scar to highlight with. So hopefully I will be getting some more by thursday so I can finish it by this weekend then work on the knight.

Thanks! and that was actually a hobbying mistake. It was going on at the right angle when my finger got stuck to the model, when I went to move my finger it slide into that position and was already hardened by the time I went to fix it lol.

Happy Sunday everyone. I have completed the chainfist and the fuel line for the acheron and have about half finished the hellstorm flamer. My guess is that this will be done by the end of next weekend.

Thanks! I think I will paint the necrons in the normal scheme style, but with oxidized brass for accents

Yeah I really like the dark blues and felt they would look super cool on krieg models. But thanks, the table is just a shelving unit on a porcelain top table, so I place my models to be worked on up there and the paints in little school supply containers I bought from target.

Thanks FSU! I am really excited to finally put it all together soon. But for necrons I am thinking the classic scheme with brass accents and oxidizing them every once and a while.

So I finished up the hellstorm flamer and the shoulder pads tonight. I also wrote up a bit of fluff on the knight pilot, and I plan on doing a few small stories about her so this is more of an overview of her life as is.

Knight Pilot: Blenda Vasa
Experience: Twenty deployments
Current knight suit: Acheron

Blenda Vasa is the grandniece of Baron Gustavus born on Iophus prime 700 M41. She is a spindly woman with hawkish features, long brown hair and dark blue eyes that flash with anger when upset. When she was born, it was thought she would be a diplomat for the house to further its interests. But she soon showed ferocious appetite for war in the dueling rings. Blenda honed her skills over the course of fifteen deployments in which she used the errant knight suits to great effect racking up hundreds of kills. She recently has been piloting House Vasa’s Acheron knight suit, but not without a cost. The Acheron is an ancient suit and with that comes a machine spirit that is quite powerful, and devious. Soon the machine spirit began to take its toll on Blenda and asserted its personality onto her. Blenda now refers to herself as Fafnir, and it seems that she is now just a vessel herself for the machine spirit to spread its hatred for the enemies of the Imperium.

Thanks, I am excited to see how it turns out in the end also

Not a whole lot done today, went to my local gw and picked up the last vehicles to run my DKoK assault/Knight list, so I only got the head and the beginning of the torso done.4

Happy sunday everyone! I was able to finish the torso for the acheron and glued the head in, made the mistake of gluing on the shoulder pads before the weapons on the lancer so that'll wait. I am trying to go for a very weather worn look on this knight like the suit has been out in the field for a long time without refit.
