Has a 1850 point game today against a friends dark angels list that has beaten me black and blue the past two times. I got my revenge with a solid 8-4 thumping. Here are a few pictures from the game, you may see something new lurking on the battlefield also.

Looks like fun! It's funny how the Acheron makes the normal Knights look tiny!

It was a good game, and I got my revenge on the dark angels . But yeah the forgeworld knights make the GW ones look stumpy by comparision.

Also here are some better pictures of my acheron. After this I have a shift of pace in my new project and am looking forward to it.

Thanks guys for the compliments! But the acheron plays pretty well, its twin linked heavy bolter allows for two potential charge choices and the flamer is str 7 ap 3 ordnance which is super helpful. Also to which one I'd rather have that actually comes down to how many knights you already own and if you are running them as a lord of war or in a knight codex army, because with the forgeworld ones you cannot take more cerastus knights than normal knights. So for a knight army you need at least one other normal knight to get the forgeworld one.

I got some new toys in the mail for my new project, I will begin to assemble them tomorrow and hopefully prime soon since it is slotted to be over 50 F the next week. For now I will leave it a mystery as to what they will be.

Acheron looks fantastic. Still love the way your armor looks. Are you about to take a 30k plunge?

Certainly looks 30k, I see Tacticals and the Praetor set. As for the Legion, I'm pretty sure you've mentioned a penchant for Raven Guard in the past, but going by the Death Guard scheme on your Acheron's base, I'm going to make them my guess.

Thanks man! I can honestly say it was my favorite mistake discovering how to do that armor style. But yes I kinda am, though it will be a small force that sometimes doubles as a 40k space marine detachment

Fairly un eventful weekend, wasn't quite warm enough to prime. But I did get the marines bodies built and pinned to their new bases, so hopefully I will have them primed by tuesday.

Very nice. But a small 30k/ sometimes 40k army in the making.

Nice. If I ever take the plunge and do a FW heresy marine army it will be off a 40k codex.

yeah it allows for some versatility. I personally was going to order some cataphractii terminators, but the rumors about plastic HH that gw will be selling have got me pausing.

So for my new project I will be creating probably one of my favorite space marine legions, before Mortarion made the legion all angsty, I personally love their color scheme in its simplicity but also for its meaning behind the crimsion arm. This was my first mini to test the color scheme and I gotta say I am very happy with the results. As per usual I am going for a more battle worn look on my marines which I think I achieved.

The pics are a bit dark, but what I can see looks great, especially the weathering.

Death Guard are one of the Legions I'm less aquainted with, is this the scheme they had before Mortarion was reunited with them? Or is this scheme just for a specific section of the Legion?

Yeah even with the white box they turned out day =/. But yes this is pre mortarion death guard color scheme.

Dusk Raiders, nice choice. Pre-pre-Heresy.

I would like to see that! I have always liked epic but a dusk raiders epic army would be so cool.

Well, it's not like my army is big haha, it's only three Land raiders for now! (I picked up five originally for 15$.) I was really unsure when you first posted that but, the name seemed familiar so I googled it.

With the wonky light the black/grey slate almost looked green on the last picture. I can tell from the first picture that it was a really well done miniature though. The chipping/weathering is ace.

Yeah it does look a little green in the picture and that is weird . But I really like the way GMM did his dusk raiders, though I felt like the storm grey would infer being dark so they could blend in at dusk so I went with a darker grey color. I am glad though I brought awareness to them for you and hopefully after adepticon I will be back to painting.

So spring break is finally here so I have some more time to get some painting in since the weather is still terrible. I finished the praetorian's base and his head, I am afraid to paint eyes after a few failed experiments. I also base coated and washed three more marines, the last ones I have primed the other five are waiting on better priming weather.

Excited, keep it up!

Thanks man! It was my first time trying to paint old brick but I think it worked out well. What is the front page though?
