Picard is the dog's knackers if playing faction pure!
Dorsal phaser array is very powerful!

Good God, Picard is disgusting!! Better than the version that already exists: "eh, I have 5 attacks-ill cancel 4 (I assume you have to at least make a roll) to get 4 auto crits." Goodbye cloaking ships. I mostly play federation, and my group (okay, there's three of us) plays pure, mostly. Ouchies for them.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Holy Balls! Jean Luc is bonkers.

Does 'unique' mean no other Picard at all is playable or can you use Ent D Picard and Ent E Picard in the same force?

I'd say no other Picard at all. Unless you draw a mustache on one and say he's the evil universe Picard.

That's not the way I read it. The way I read it is:

You may roll 1 (and only one) less Attack Die to add one (and only one) *Crit* Result to your roll.

So, in effect, it's just a long way and weird way to phrase "one attack die is always classed as Crit result." But, I suppose it does have other effects, like it can't be rerolled by Koloth.

I've got to say though, between this and the whole mess with the Val Jean / Admiral Forrest +1 Maneuver stuff, Attack Wing's technical language writing has taken a nosedive. - And it was pretty pants already compared to X-Wings.

As for Unique. If there's a Unique symbol, it means no other card can be present in your fleet list that possesses the same printed name as that card EG "JEAN-LUC PICARD" or "U.S.S ENTERPRISE NCC-1701-E" vs the "U.S.S. ENTERPRISE" Quite frankly, at this rate, I'm waiting for them to make a typo.

I could see both sides to that-you're probably right, but it would have made it a lot easier to say "you can turn only one". That's GW levels of ambiguity, there!!

I think due to having the dorsal weapons array in there it will be 90 forward and back

The ship stats are what I expected. Data and Geordi are priced right. Riker on the other hand should have been a little more considering her is a reusable Rand/McCoy that also adds a crew slot, 6pts at least. Picard is good, I can see uses for the Admiral, but he is not great.

I am disappointed in the application of the phaser array. A federation copy of the Dorsay Weapons array was all the federation needed. Though I won't hate on it because it has a limited range and is only worth the points on 4 ships, Sovereign, Nebula, Intrepid, and Galaxy. So 5-6 points isn't bad. You probably won't see it on Voyager when Chekov is cheaper and on the Enterprise D 5pts is a bit much for 1 attack.

I don't care for the E's ability. It has no restrictions on it where as the Gal Gathong has to be cloaked. The Federation also has more ways than any other faction to use torpedoes effectively.
1) Starter Picard
2) Captain Spock
3) Lojor, Lojor + Phlox even better
4) Independent flagship w/180 arcs
5) USS Yeager

now
6) USS Enterprise E

Throw in things like Tac Stations, Tuvok, or Scotty and the Feds didn't really need anything else to boost their torpedo efficiency.

I love everything about the Ent E I've seen so far. I just hope the model is better than the Ent A - I haven't seen a single one of those without bent warp nacelles yet.

I'm not sure the ability to fire torps without a lock was meant to make it so good against cloaked ships, I would have been fine if it couldn't.
Feds really are great at using torpedoes, but kinda need to be as most of their ships have a base 3 attack, where as the Klingons / dominion can easily throw out as many attack dice from their primary weapons.

Is this picard better than the Ent D one? Free actions are still King it seems in these parts.

it's the quiet ones you have to look out for. Their the ones that change the world, the loud ones just take the credit for it.

The other less obvious advantage of not needing a target lock is.

It's the first turn, you're probably going to have the initiative, which means you'll be moving 'first' against other equally high captain skills (lets be honest, it's probably Picard on another factions ship, probably borg.)

So you'll be able to move, be out of target lock range for your action, then let them move, so you have a good chance of a first turn long range torpedo shot with the ship

The Fleet Captains version of the E-E was at least as good as the micromachine, so the STAW version should be good since it's probably the same mini with a different paint job.

I am not liking the proliferation of 360 attacks. In some places the game has very much become Borg Wing. Movement is rapidly becoming less and less important, especially with all of the open map OPs coming up.

I like it, Feds need it more than anyone else, mainly because of Fluff reasons. I've never seen a Fed ship that couldn't fire phasers to aft.

I don't mind 360 attacks being available as long as they always have a downside compared to firing your limited arc primary. Ent D is less dice, Voyager takes an aux, dominion dorsal gets disabled on use. Most are limited to range 1-2. The Ent E version is the most powerful 360 attack so far outside the borg.

Advanced shields + multi adaptive shields from the raven will be pretty powerful defensively.

Something like a way to expand the arc to 270 would have been better OR why not simply make a federation version of Dorsal Weapons Array?

Because it's the Ent-E, and the sovereign class is the pinnacle of Starfleet battleships in the 24th century?

The more likely explanation is they wanted to sell a lot of Enterprise E expansions. The phaser array gives new life to generic Intrepid, Galaxy, and Nebula. It wouldn't surprise me to see people get 2-3 of this expansion for just that card.

I will be getting one for sure, and probably two for the Dorsal Array card. It's just too good not to get!
