I haven't used it at all.

I really should though, a lot of people are completely irredeemable.

I've used it once and then retracted it.

It takes a pretty weak minded individual, IMO, to use it more than very sparingly.

That or they just can't be bothered to deal with fools who think the UK is a communist paradise. I mean, what would be the value of reading someone's posts when they post things that idiotic?

There is one person on my ignore list and that's only because the individual is so toxic that I am unable to stomach anything that he/she writes.

Probably work

I've used it at least 34 times. That's how many people I have there now.

Not to say that I never look at what they're saying. I just want to not see what they're saying as the default. I spend time on Dakka at work, so anyone who posts obnoxious image spam often is probably on the list, just as a precaution.

Interestingly, as I look at the list, I don't think I've seen probably some 25 or so of those people posting in the last several months. I should probably prune the list somewhat.

How does one know if they're on a user's ignore list?

I'd be really interested to see how many times I'm on them.

It would probably hurt feelings and cause issues, so they likely won't let you see it.

I don't agree with you much, but you never made it to my list.

I have ignored a few people who I feel have unfavorable signal to noise ratios. Obviously your mileage may vary but I feel my browsing experience is somewhat better without their one-line, condescending "contributions" to a thread.

Still, 6 years, I've only got 9 people on ignore. I just checked at it looks like 6 of those 9 have since been banned , so I suppose I wasn't the only one that did not enjoy their posting habits.

There are many people who I bitterly disagree with, but I only put someone on ignore when they are, essentially, noise, or clearly trolling just enough to not get banned.

You should - some will never bother you again.

The Mods would probably be upset if we turned the Off-Topic forum into the "Are you Ignoring me? poll" Forum.

I like to think that I'm a pretty accepting person of others' opinions and am certainly always willing to agree to disagree. The person on my ignore list, in two posts was so against any other opinion than his/her own that I simply couldn't abide the rudeness and negativity.

I don't use the function, but about a year ago you were mighty close to being on mine. Nowdays I do enjoy your posts a lot more.

I'd be interested how many have me on an ignore list too.

To be fair, a month's vacation did mellow me out a bit . As did reading 7 Habits of Highly Effective people.

I'm not perfect at letting things outside my scope of control go yet, by any means, but I've worked to get much better about it.

Right on. I don't know if its me or not,but I feel like I've run into a lot of the same volatile people in many threads. Their responses are usually the same, and they end up on my Ignore list

I had to check: yep, only one person for similar reasons.
Ever read something from a person and just cannot seem to find anything positive in it at all?
Never thought I would find that person.
Would love to see number of times banned to see if similar sentiments from others.

I agree with this! Also, if I find reading their posts drives me to post silly things. Sometimes, it is a preventative measure on my part.
