Woohoo, I'll definitely be putting an order in come Monday.

I am warming to the overall composition of the authorized bounty hunter. The original shot made him look a lot squarer/blockier. Still a hefty mini. but it looks a lot less like a brick from this angle (and the jacket flows a lot better).

Not sure what I'll use it for. Hell, depending on what N3 changes, I may use it as an actual authorized bounty hunter. But most likely, it will be something in my Nomads (probably a Mobile Brigada).

But the new edition itself has me far more excited than any free model. I wants it now.

Damn, I can't wait. I love the covers; it's a smart choice to sell it as a quality product with a "luxury" feel to the marketing. They are some of the best models out there, so flaunt it. It worked for Confrontation; I always felt I was getting my money's worth, compared to similarly-priced GW products that were incrementally changed from their previous version.

Of course, I don't care for anime, which definitely influences my preferences.

Hey 'trees! Read the rules faster! I want to play! (says the #### who never shows up).

Love the new cover. This isn't a limited run, right- this is the real release of the new rules?

I don't need the exclusive model, so not sure I'll preorder it, but definitely want to make sure I can pick it up on release.

RE: the new rules set:

I'm hoping there will be an event at which one can get N3 before everyone else, if one has a ninja shopper. I'm mourning failing to get Icestorm from my GenCon ninjas... Warstore preorder still hasn't shown up. With the... er, somewhat tardy release schedules CB usually has, a two-month headstart on learning the rules would be really nice.

Anyone know if the free online rules will be available at the same time the book drops? It would make sense to delay them a while to sell more books, but CB has a track record of being nice just because. Free online rules would at least make shipping and release delays less agonizing.

Carlos said in an interview at some point that they're trying to expose the chest of the models to show more detail. However if this comes at the expense of dynamic model poses, it's not a good thing.
Rage Fist tells me the sculptor couldn't think of anything better to do with the free hand.

CB has filled its quota for RAGE FIST till 2016. No more please

Hear hear. It's really, really unfortunate to see this trend emerging so sharply and frankly spoiling their awesome poses.

Chest detail may be nice sometimes, but the stupid poses are really ruining the trademark CB style. The crouching ninja is why most YJ players I know started collecting that army, and the crossed-arms Asawira was the thing for so many Haqq players as has been pointed out. if chests are just exposed in even every few minis, that's fine: The cooler poses are also fun to paint.

Hoping CB realizes this and snaps out of it soon. Hell, even running two versions of one fig (rage fist versus dynamic) I bet they'd see a significant enough difference to point out the error of ragefistatosis,

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

It's the full release of the 3rd edition ruleset. The miniature is just for people who pre order. Nothing limited about it, at least from what we've been told.

Exposed chests are possible without having a static pose. To use another example of an Asawira:
Spoiler:

He looks like he's casually walking forwards with his gun in an at ease position, stepping over a large rock. There's movement to the pose. It's still dynamic without being an action pose.

CB are quite capable of doing good poses. Their current range runs the gamut - there's dynamic action poses, static at ease poses, dynamic at ease poses, pin up poses, and more. They all show off detail in their own way.

I just hope this trend doesn't leak too much into what they're doing. Standing static with a rage fist is fine for the odd model, but not for the majority of a range.

The ABH is cool and all... but I might wanna wait. I dunno I guess if I can preorder through my usual channels with a discount it's not so bad.

New books seem a LOT bigger than the old one.

So many games, so little time.

So many models, even less time.

Screw it, Netflix and chill.

I thought they looked a lot smaller. They're only 3/4 the size of the miniature!

Ooooh new thread

Don't forget the girls with the 'fist of fury'. The new fusilier in icestorm has it

Pre-order mini looks better from this angle. Less fat lol

Price isn't too bad imo if you pre-order. Mini is probably worth about $10 or so.

With the exception that it's technically like the 40k rulebook also having almost every codex inside it as well.

And it's also optional. All the Infinity rules and stats are available to everyone online. For those simply into gaming, they don't need the book to play. They also don't need a bunch of codexcies and DLC to play optimally.

For those that like pretty pictures, fluff, or just enjoy a good rulebook, it seems like a solid choice.

So any fist is unacceptable then? The fusilier isn't close to the same pose as the other three. It's more of a celebratory arm pump.
The other three are all HI, I think it can be a way to showcase their abilities. They should legitimately be able to us their weapons at near 100% effectiveness with one hand.

As soon as we have a swathe of minis making V signs and duck face I'll start to be concerned.

Excited for the rules, will be pre-ordering ASAP.

$76 USD is....kind of steep to me. I mean, I would like to read up on the fluff and have a hard copy of the rules, but I might just download the PDF and print it off.

On the other hand, the artwork is nice. Almost like a Mass Effect-like aura to it.

I mean I like the art and fluff for infinity, and I expect I would get more mileage out of such a book. Its just a steep buy-in. I'll likely get it anyway.

I bought Artbook 1 and don't regret it. if the art is good (and recent art shows yes, it's gonna be good) and fluff is better translated and interesting to read, I'll gladly pay the extra for that in a hardcover. The easy to transport softcover rulebook is a bonus.

My theory is that the rage fist people are just doing rock-paper-scissors against the submachine gun Odalisque.

Seriously, I never thought of it at first but when I was painting it that hand really bothered me. Why is it like that?

Because she's prettily posing while obliterating someone with that sub-machinegun.

Well I have never seen a model that does a hand pose like that...

Are there models with scissor hands? 'cause that would be awesome!

Cordelia is the closest.

I'll be converting that particular Odalisque. Her hand is just silly.

oohh that looks sharp for a Rulebook... very Mass Effect like

Well count me in, since this is my first Rulebook for Infinity the price doesn't hurt that much. I will be getting the Nomads from Operation:Icestorm, so this ABH comes in Handy as a second Mobile Brigada

Well moving on topic: the artwork on the books is pretty fething amazing. Simple and yet very Infinity-esque.

Is that a Hac Tao on the book's cover? Interesting that they're not using the Hacker version's redesign. Weird choice all around though.

I wouldn't mind the ABH, but if it's going to be $75 for the whole shebang, I may have to sit this out. Disappointing.

I don't mind the rage fist so much. At least it sort of makes sense why HI guys would be firing guns one armed though. Still, I'd rather be seeing figures posed firing their guns with both hands gripping them.

If the price is correct, they do seem expensive, however they also seem rather thick - the current rulebook has around 250 pages, right? These books seem to be of that size each one of them.
