I never know what people mean by a "living rulebook". How does what you want differ from the wiki, if it were updated to contain the 3rd edition rules?

Simple, a living rulebook is some form of eBook (i.e. something that can be accessed without a connection to the internet) that gets updated a things are added in order to make it a one-stop shop for updates. Now, needless to say this requires a different layout than the print book (since it may get things added, so being able to make a more modular layout that is largely art-free outside of examples is handy).

Basically, like the fan-made all-in-one rulebook from 2nd Edition.

Because when one has no wiki access, the alternative being 3-6 other documents can be quite onerous.

Usually, printing a new edition cuts back on the need for additional books by bringing a lot of previous information together. Unfortunately, it seems that the N3 core book may contain references to supplements from the previous edition (which will in turn need their own errata to update to the new edition), which is, at least to me, sub-optimal.

Ideally, the N3 core would contain only rules for things contained between its covers, referencing no other works. Then online you could have the living document containing the full rules (updated to N3) for the core, Human Sphere, and Paradiso along with a document for each army containing their full army list. Then, for those online you can have the wiki and army builder as alternate solutions.

But for folks who get play time in away from internet access, only needing to access a couple of documents is a better solution than having info spread over 3-6 of them.

I honestly have a feeling the PDF they post online probably wont amalgamate anything, so I`m not getting my hopes up. But it would be nice if the move to N3 meant not having to ever access the books of the last edition. Because those books will need more than a modicum of errata to be brought in line with N3 anyways, so needing to access them alongside an errata document is arguably messier than what we have today (though Infinity in 2nd Edition is difficult to play properly without even the wiki, so it also isn`t going to be as bad come N3 either).

It's probably a stock tool and they loaded it up as a gag rather then have you peaking at any works in progress I wouldn't read into it seriously

Almost guaranteed as he was saying something to the affect of "we've been working really hard on it." As the pig was being rotated.

Still mad props for the pew pew sounds

Also hoping to have it next weekend from thewarstore.com

Are we going to see the USAriadna Grunts anytime soon or is this going to be another Raicho situation?

If you listen to the Mayacast podcast, when asked this question, Carlos was very dodgy in his response. Basically in a nutshell - they understand the impact and demand the USAriadna is going to have and they need to plan and build things up accordingly. He was also very dodgy on when Acheron Falls would show up (thus there is a potential of not needing to wait around for it to show before seeing the USAriadna). I think once we see the N3 book and what other profiles are in there for USAriadna beyond Grunts (Hardcase Frontiersmen?) this will give us a sense for what we will see in the new Sectorial box. He mentioned that Minutemen and Foxtrots were getting a re-sculpt along with the addition of the new Hardcase Frontiersmen.

My guess is given the scope of changes and re-sculpts, coupled with the reception that the USA gives them every time they mention USAriadna during the N3 publicity tour, I am expecting to see USAriadna sectorial box at Gencon 2015.

You might be surprised at the level of errata needed or not needed. Anyway, I assume the easiest way to have everything in one document will be the same as now - use one of the PDFs generated from the wiki, including FAQs.

I like their prices, but they are noticeably slower with getting pre-orders up and out.

The Warstore is not just a retailer, but also a distributor for Infinity.

Wouldn't be surprised then if Miniature Market gets their Infinity from theWarStore, hence why theWarStore tends to get the new products out the door quicker.

At some point, I'm thinking the 'free shipping' at $100 isn't going to be worth it anymore for me - at least in terms of getting INFINITY stuff from Miniature Market vs. The Warstore.

Possibly for the New releases. For anything they have in stock it goes super quick. Ordered guys Weds on their black friday sale and got them Friday, was shocked.

I just hope Efigs got it in and ships it to my FLGS ASAP. I should get it next week if so.

Might just have to do the combined army from the warstore if it gets it in as fast as all you say it does

I wouldn't judge it based on this order though, I canceled my operation icestorm from warstore and got my copy from miniaturemarket quicker, even got the promo figure.

Price wise they are the same for me. I live near miniaturemarket so I get hit with the local 7-8% sales tax but can pick it up in 5minutes, if I order through the warstore I pay more for the figures (generally) and pay shipping. Neal is great about matching their prices though

Also I could see MM becoming a distributor since they just sent GW packing.

I feel its good to have options Really though, I think I've gotten the better part of my non-icestorm infinity minis from Amazon of all places.

Don't, it's a seller's market there apparently and everything is at least full price. However, I don't always have cool things to spend those bonus point things on...

It's exciting to hear people will be getting their books soon. Looking forward to all of your thoughts.

Really? Do tell.

Let us not forget the tyranny of distance. Warstore is on the East Coast. Miniature market is in the middle of the country, some ~870 miles away. Of course Warstore will get it first, being closer to Spain. Think how much longer the folks on the Left Coast will have to wait.

As of this moment, my Miniature Market order is still listed as pre-order, but I got a bunch of other stuff on that order as well. I'm fine with waiting a few days to save some $$$, which I wlll probably spend on more Hobby stuff anyway. It's like that old experiment with children and M&Ms. Be patient, get more.

I won't get to gaming again until after the New Year anyway. Well, maybe one last game. There is a Dire Foes tournament at a FDGS (Friendly distant GS) this week-end...

N3 books are hitting Australia on monday or tuesday, according to both Underground Wargames and The Combat Company, and they'll be shipping them out to fulfil preorders as soon as they come in.

So many games, so little time.

So many models, even less time.

Screw it, Netflix and chill.

Just check his website(thewarstore.com) bottom of the page I think under the customer relations tab he says he price matches others. I've asked on a couple of things. He always backs it up .
As for the different coasts, somewhere in one of the operation Icestorm updates neal talks about his west coast distribution center. No idea what that's about though

Yeah, my Warstore order page says mine will be shipping from WEST. I can only assume that it will be from the Nevada spot. that might get to me faster in Texas, than from NY.

One would have thought surely that you will receive it in the next few days?

I haven't heard anything else since '17th' from Element Games (UK), so assume that is still the going rate for UK retailers at the moment.

Probably not, the customs entry point for USPS is in NY, hence the rather quick turn around in shipping from the NY store. I expect the books came into NY, Neal picked them up and now has to send inventory to NV to distribute from there. The day or two it will take to get there, it would probably had made it to you from NY.

I know when we had the IceStorm snafus it was because of them getting held up in NY Customs.

Having said that, I am sure you will still get it pretty quick, I paid the normal shipping and Neal ended up sending my overnight UPS.
