Could just be my inexperiece but I don't recognize quite a few. Spearhead, supportware, tinbot, some of the larger ones for team lift and doors. ETc. Neat.

A lot of those you mention are brand new, N3 rules/states markers. Everyone is busy going over the rules to find out what those are for.

So.. for those more in the know, is this the same rules that they said on facebook they weren't releasing for 3 months? If it is, kudos to CB on a good PR move that is very fan friendly. I don't think it'll affect their sales much given that they seem to be selling out of their first printings of anything n3 related but it definitely helps fans who got the starter sets recently or will be getting them over the holidays.
Now they just need to put all hands on deck to get the Maghariba model out!

My books are due tomorrow, I applaud them for getting the web Version up before Christmas, maybe a little bit of a present to everyone. Either way when my copy shows up I'm going to be working on the ABH, my mini longneck bottles for him to carry in his rage fist are waiting too .

Unless I missed something, that rules PDF is not enough to prevent cancelling tournaments. The other PDF, the one that update the Human Sphere and Paradiso profiles, is more important, from a tournaments point-of-view, than the rules PDF.
The book is already out there. The update PDF was not, last time I checked.
Not that I'm complaining about having the rules PDF!

While true, it is a pretty enormous undertaking to update all of the profiles at once. However many hundred. The catalog has like 500 minis it it now doesn't it? And some profiles don't even have models so... lots.
Does suck though for people raring to go.

Its PRE-ORDER, if you expected updated profiles for PRE-ORDER you lied to yourself. Last time I checked N3 starts at January 2015.

I'm glad I got the dead tree version of the book instead of just the PDFs.

It's going to take a while to read through and totally absorb things. Learning a new edition is harder than learning a game for the first time because there will always be subtle but critical changes to the most basic rules.

I haven't seen anyone claim CB lied here, or that it was destroyed forever.
So I have to ask what anger exactly? I literally just said well thats disappointing and nothing more. I also saw no one else express any kind of anger what so ever in this thread. Only one being dramatic to here seems to be you.

He's putting up a straw man, trying to make it seem like it's all just pointless anger. We see right through that.
Thing is, for most the main criticism hasn't been that it's not here now, but rather, it's not consolidated into one book from which they can further expand. That's the most confusing aspect, it's just a counter-intuitive move no matter how many ridiculous rationalizations you come up with.
Most people can figure out that the other stuff is coming out in pdf form online. The problem we have is that if it's free online anyway, just put it in the main tome. Instead, it's this half done thing involving old books that most people don't want, with information that was going to be online anyway.
So no, Bobbafett, you're not some enlightened being.

Yeah I have to admit I fail to see the reason in bringing out a new book that requires reference to the old one. Would have made more sense to consolidate everything into N3 and have N3 be the infinity rulebook until new ones come out. Sure they want to keep selling Campaign Paradiso but this is bound to lose them N3 sales as well. Not to mention its likely to be very confusing for new players (and maybe long standing ones) to purchase an expansion that refers to old rules that are no longer going to be relevant.

Sooooo... all gripes? No comments about all the cool new stuff? Surely some of you have found cool new stuff!? I found cool new stuff on the first random page and I only read to paragraphs of it
Seems like there will be various new interactions for certain models with the Sat-link or w/e and triangulated fire. Plus with new/more hacking things and so on.. sounds both a little bit more complicated and a bit neater at that. Still looking forward to some of you salty old Infinity vets hashing out the changes since I'm still too much of a n00b to comprehend some of the subtle ones.

Hacking looks super fleshed out and seems like it will be easier to know what you can and can't do. It's just a ton to take in with all the tables. I love this though and this is one of the better laid out rule books I've seen in a very long time

I am freaking super excited to tryout my camo-spam infiltrating Ariadna with a ton of silent killing models.
Models with any level of Martial arts now have Stealth, Surprise attack, and surprise shot.
CH models also have stealth, surprise attack, and surprise shot.
Stealth lets you enter ZOC of models without an ARO to change face or alert. You can engage models in CC, and if using a silent weapon, take them out without an ARO from nearby models. They can only ARO to Change face or alert if they live through your attack.
Friggin SAS, Scouts, Foxtrots, Spetznaz... all kinds of frikkin camo silent death creeping up on unsuspecting members of my Meta
