A messenger tried to deliver the books yesterday when I wasn't at home, but I got them today. Yay! Reading time.

I'm loving the art, there is a combination of a lot of styles, and a few illustrations from the N2 rulebook are still there, but it's mostly new stuff.

I got my books today. The only complaint, small but there, is that the books don't really fit in the case. They hang over the edges of it. If they were hard case it wouldn't be too bad but since they are soft cases I can see the edges getting damaged by the spine.

Other than that they are great and now I have a lot of reading to do.

Books arrived in my FLGS yesterday. I got around to pick it up today. Having a great time with it.
Also I must agree with the dinosaur faction. Feels and reads way better with an actual book in hand.
Plus the fluff is awesome! Can't wait for the weekend to dig in properly.

Scarper: "That is incredibly detailed...shows an attention to detail that goes beyond anyone you'll fight."
The Good Green: "Ok, That is incredible. Such attention to detail... I'm convinced you would benefit from a straight jacket ;~P Thanks for raising the bar."
PDH: "Yeah Bloody Baiyuan's Bloody eye for detail . Bet he doesn't sig that one"
PDH: "I'm not saying anything that you might sig against me. Made that mistake before!"

Ahhhh! Got it...

For a moment that got me wondering what CB were smoking and where I could get some myself. Count me in as someone that also prefers to read a book on paper rather than digital format then.

A warning.. I'm 32 years old and LOVED Dinoriders as a child. When I found and bought a VHS of that show a few years ago, I was utterly dissapointed :(
The show did not age well.

Saber Rider is quite the opposite... that show still is amazing.

Never saw it, I don't think, just knew it was a thing

A lot of older shows did not age well. Heck, even Hercules and Xena seem terrible to me now

What do you mean "terrible to you now"? They were always terrible.

If that building is as large as I think, it will need some nice interior scatter.

Apparently Miniature Market now has the N3 books and is starting to ship them. Yay.

Guess I ought to put in a plug for Neal at thewarstore.com for getting my book to me real quick.

I got my N3 book & the ugly preorder MERC last Saturday. I would have read it all right then if I was actually home when it came.

But, yeah the warstore is great got mine Express UPS form Sparks so I got it in a day, it normally takes 3 days from there.

While I'm certainly glad that people are getting their N3 books, I don't think it quite qualifies as news that 'you' (i.e., anyone) got your book!

If 'you' want to post to that effect, please at least give us something else in your post as well - some snippet from the book maybe?

Rulebook seems similar to the pdf.

The 'Core Book', ie fluffbook seems to be a much re-edited and rewritten sort of version of the original. Some bits are similar, some are totally new.

They introduced fluff retcons for things. So for example, the new Scorpion-type Maghariba Guard is explicitly called out as an upgrade of older model 'Beetle'-type TAGs from that unit, though some groups are still equipped with the older model.

The Exrah of course are explained away.

One of my favorite bits is the Sygmaa. It paints them in an incredibly sympathetic light for a bunch of guys who look like space satan, despite being 'badder' versions so to speak of donkey-caves who shoot farmers and poison colonists.

The Umbra hardly get explained at all, alas. It's just 'this sith lord guy is freaking evil'.

The improvement with the N3 book compared with 2nd Ed. is similar to this:

It is like 2nd Edition book was the old KUM and now N3 is the new KUM.
The step forward for a better game is HUGE.

They also explained away the old Yu Jing Invincibles. Apparently it was now an older model (light-heartedly called beakies) & they've been phased out. They're no longer on the infinity website; like the old Exrah they're gone.

The bike isn't awful and could work with the right rider. The rider sculpt just doesn't fit aesthetically, and doesn't stand up quality wise anymore.

In fact, do we have any official/unofficial accounting of everything that has been or will be removed from the range & the army lists??

Example: Obviously Ko Dali & the old Tiger Soldiers are gone from their site now.
However there are a few paragraphs in the Core Book about her. It seemed to indicate she was still with Yu Jing or something...
I'm very confused, but not particularly interested in the truth here. She's not some super interesting character to me **shrug**

Until we get the updated HS+ profiles, we don't know for certain exactly what's been removed. There are some core rulebook profiles missing like Halqa, Daylami, Ahl Fassed, Securitate, Szalmandra, and especially Mutt Ghazi which recently even had a new boxed set.

EDIT: I've just realized that the Halqa, Ahl Fassed, Securiate, and even the Securiate-containing Nomads starter have been removed from the site. I have no idea anymore.

Most of the disappeared units are getting reworked for their respective sectorials and will reappear with them, in the meantime they will get an army v5 entry.

The Nomads starter set is logically missing since the OI set minus the exclusive figure is the new Nomads starter set.

This is because the story that explains her sepsitorisation is in Campaign: Paradiso, her original fluff was in the second edition rulebook. So it's just an update on her fluff pre-sepsitorisation.

I wouldn't actually mind seeing a new Ko Dali figure made. Like the Exrah, I don't really care for the idea of removing figures, characters, or entire ranges from the line to coincide with changes to the fluff. It'd be nice to keep those profiles around in case people actually wanted to continue playing them. But yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing a new human Ko Dali figure. Maybe as a Bootleg or something.
